The US better stop it's crap. The world is turning against her. I hope Trump can expose the corrupt and change things.

That last article posted by Screwball is deep and sad indeed - just a shame how things have been.  Here's to hoping our lives may change for the better, or I'm outta' here once this things pops.  Keeping the faith. :praying:

So this might finally happen around the end of this month and next March at the latest?

Just wanted to reach back on this question while reviewing my notes - March 20, 2017 is the expected Iranian fiscal year end the latest.  Keeping the faith. :praying:

last line says Japan lifted all sanctions in order to do business with Iran. So is the US the only country that still has financial sanctions?

Just wanted to reach back on this question while reviewing my notes - Mark, I had a chat just last night in person with an agent of Travelex Foreign Currency Exchange - he was cool but I believe the details he provided wasn't up to date than what we all have been sharing here.  In regards of the US having financial sanctions, he referred to watch out for the lists of recent actions posted on the Office of Foreign Assets Control via the US. Dept of Treasury site:

https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/OFAC-Enforcement/Pages/OFAC-Recent-Actions.aspx

From there you'll find the first JCPOA Implementation made on 1/16/2016, through the latest small settlement/agreement made just today.  I say for those including myself who's under "lockdown" of the US sanctions, this US government site should be referred back and forth to check up on things throughout this wild ride.  I do feel, things will change by October 1st but we will have to wait and see.

As I continue to say, keeping the faith! :praying:

Hey guys......check out this link on the news today and chime in your thoughts, but hopefully non-political...

I'll share my exact thoughts that popped up immediately when I read this.  I won't go into the politics of the matter but there's a hidden scenario that had taken place I believe that caught my eye; I'm curious to know if you all caught it too.

It might be just me, but I'm curious to know what you all think or may see....:reading1:

FD.....I didn't get it either.  :shakehead:  Maybe I was looking too hard.

But I did find this in the comments left by others reading the article and that did catch my eye.

This is what this guy had to say about the article...... :o

"PEOPLE GET CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE......

OBAMA AND THE PRESS KEEP PUSHING THE IDEA THAT THIS PAYMENT EITHER WAS, OR WAS NOT, A BRIBE.....

THIS IS A FALSE CHOICE DESIGNED TO KEEP US FROM REALIZING THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER....

WHICH IS.....THE PAYMENT WAS MADE AS FINANCIAL support FOR OUR NATION'S WORST ENEMY, BY A PRESIDENT WHO IS A SECRET MUSLIM TRYING TO HIDE THIS FACT FROM HIS FELLOW COUNTRYMEN.

OBAMA WANTS TO HELP HIS MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD PARTNERS IN IRAN SO THEY CAN CHALLENGE AMERICA AND DESTROY ISRAEL. HE ALSO WANTS TO ISLAMIFY AMERICA SO IT EVENTUALLY BECOMES A MUSLIM NATION UNDER SHARIA LAW.

I DOUBT THAT KERRY OR BIDEN REALIZE THIS, BUT THE FACTS ARE SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM IF THEY EVER PULLS THEIR HEADS OUT OF THE SAND.

OBAMA WILL NOT GO GENTLY INTO THE NIGHT THIS JANUARY. OUR NATION IS IN FOR QUITE A RIDE ON THE TREASON TRAIN."

the cash payments were necessary because of the "effectiveness of U.S. and international sanctions," which isolated Iran from the international finance system.

Earlier Tuesday, officials from the State, Justice and Treasury departments held a closed-door briefing for congressional staff on the payments,

I would say they made the settlement and removed Iran from financial sanctions. It's coming.

"The money came from a little-known fund administered by the Treasury Department for settling litigation claims. (One of these claims just happened today per the OFAC link via the US dept of Treasury site I shared with ya'll) so-called Judgment Fund is taxpayer money Congress has permanently approved in the event it's needed, allowing the president to bypass direct congressional approval to make a settlement. The U.S. previously paid out $278 million in Iran-related claims by using the fund in 1991."

I'm far from an ecomincs specialist, but the US had just gone around its own darn sanctions loop in which we all are concerned about, regarding the process of allowing payments made to Iran?!! $1.7 Billion in cash payments?!

I'm gonna' call it - a majority of us here may have about at least $5 million rial ready to go exchange and when our big day comes, I'm now convinced it wouldn't matter whether we take our rial overseas to either exchange it in form of another currency into Euro, into Yuan, into back to USD......or as it may already appear here, the US will soon decide to lift the sanctions entirely near October 1st.

Sister MIT, that's what I got from this....my whiskey drink is gonna go down great tonight! :cheesehead: I'm not too worried anymore!

Russian banks say they are ready to enter Iran’s banking sector and help facilitate the country’s overseas transactions particularly now that Western financial institutions are dragging their feet to do so even though sanctions against the country have been lifted.

Great find Screwballs!
