Iraqi political sources said that Vice President article Nuri al-Maliki who is currently in Tehran, "will not return to Iraq only after Tehran reached an agreement with Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi guaranteed not to display it to eliminate any charge was."

this is what i figured would happen.  i don't believe abadi really wants to execute maliki although, according to the posture of his new reform program, he must hold him accountable in front of the people.  therefore maliki was allowed to leave the country BEFORE allegations against him were validated.  maliki will be given asylum in tehran and there will be this staged standoff between the two governments over the maliki.  but this deal was already orchestrated prior.  maliki was never going to hang for what he did, not as long as he had friends in high places and east of the iraqi border.  

 

if nothing else, at least he will be forever out of iraqi politics.  he can continue on living and enjoying the billions he stole.  i guess in some ways others may account his life as successful.

Deflect your blame on the one man and people group that has successfully battled ISIS and your efforts to be installed as head of the new califate of Iraq. If he stays in Iran can the international court still arrest him there? There are enough charges against him that he hopefully will be brought to justice in international court as it seems the Iraqi judicial system are afraid to do anything about him. I just hope that Abadi and his GOI will not buckle to the threats of Tehran's thug . Abadi should have enough on Kameinei and crew to blackmail them to stay out of Iraqi internal affairs. it would be a shame if such info should fall into the hands of the CIA or MI 5. Leave us (GOI) alone, return your bully to Iran. and pull back your troops, and proxy troops, to your borders or I will declare that you have invaded Iraq under the guise of aid in the fight against ISIS and I will activate the status of forces agreement we have with the U.S. You know you cannot beat the U.S.

Let them keep Maliki. By his act of running scared to Iran and asking them to threaten Abadi and the GOI, he has as much admitted to the charges against him. Let him keep $10 million U.S. even. Then try and convict him in absentia, with the penalty of death should he ever step foot inside Iraq again, even for a funeral! Put all co-conspirators on trial and convict them. Seizing any and all fruits from the poison tree. And wherever Maliki has smuggled money to, worldwide, seize that as well.

abadi had to let him go.  he can't afford an internal war right now with all of the reforms taking place.  maliki holds a lot of influence in iraq and to go to war with him right now would not be wise.  so they allowed him out of the country and will let the judicial process do what it do.  but to go arrest him and drag him back for the gallows and such is for another day, not today.  i know many here wanted to see M brought to justice.  imho though it will be a long wait to see it.  there isn't a force on earth powerful enough to convince iran to surrender their boy.
