Economist: deletion of zeros from the currency will reduce the dollar traded in the local market

Recommended Posts

no, actually it might make their 25k note 25 locally in iraq and then turnning that into $75 is great for us. because we're not in iraq and our notes are NOT in iraq.  our notes would still be worth thier value.  and according to this "economist" it's still coming out to $3.00 to 1 IQD for us.  but he is only an economist.  it's just his opinion.  he isn't the trigger guy.

Hi aaanth.  That would be great and what we're looking for, but where in that article does this guy say $3 to 1 IQD?

He advised a number of specialists in economic affairs government to implement the project to delete the zeros, instead of issuing a large categories of currency because it will lead to increased inflation.

Hi aaanth.  That would be great and what we're looking for, but where in that article does this guy say $3 to 1 IQD?

it says 25 dinar would be equal to 75 dollars.  that's a 3 DOLLAR ratio to 1 DINAR

"...25 dinars Vstsawi of $ 75"  (the exact quote from the article)

What Economist Antoine asks for ? And what the Central Bank does . May still yet be completely different things . Just because he is a well known economist does not mean what he speaks of will happen . They have been debating how to proceed for a long period of time .

And that's exactly why I quit responding to delete the zeros

articles.

its his theory and work around to gain value, I wouldnt worry about yall

#1 he is putting out on how to gain value, and not devalue

#2 he is only working with what he as to work with, no new notes

#3 he's grasping at straws to pay the bills this month, he made it up

I think my math formula is wrong

if you have 1,000,000.00 dinars in 25,000 notes then according to the 75=25,000 you will only get just over 13,000 for this exchange?

If 25000 dinars = $75 then 1000000 dinars / 25000 dinars = 40 bills of 25k, then, 40*$75= $3000

Sorry, not a lot but that's what the numbers are saying, assuming they do what the article is saying.

I'm ok with that even, rather  than endless waiting to get rich. (which I would not mind becoming)

Unless this person is the true decision maker, it is his opinion.

Exactly Chuck!  This is ONE person's OPINION!   John Jagerson's opinion is that the IQD is a scam but I don't see anyone rushing out to sell their dinar because of it.

Countries will release a lot of mis-information before they make any currency changes.  Look what happened earlier this year with the Swiss Franc!  It was total mis-information campaign.

I dont know why I even check this board every 2-3 days,,, I bought my Dinar in 2004 when I was in Iraq, I honestly believe whoever in charge of the dinar does not want it to revalue, and I have given up hope. I believe who ever is in charge believes in the old saying keep the poor poor, and if you have $$$$$ you will be king.
