Anbar announces the liberalization of 70% of Saqlawiyah area north of Fallujah

(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Political adviser to the governor of Anbar Hikmat Sleiman announced on Thursday the liberalization of 70% of Saqlawiyah area north of Fallujah, indicating that the security forces and al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia took control of several government institutions of the city center.

 

Suleiman said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces launched a military operation participated by the forces of the Iraqi army, al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia and Saqlawiyah tribal fighters backed by army aviation,” explaining that, “these forces managed to liberate 70% of Saqlawiyah area north of Fallujah.”

 

Suleiman added, “The troops were able to liberate the local council building, the police station, the health center and Saqlawiyah mosque,” noting that “they took control of all of those departments.”

(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – Commander of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi militia forces in Haditha District announced the killing of 44 ISIS elements and the destruction of 13 vehicles including six booby-trapped Humvees during the repelling of an ISIS assault against the district in western Anbar.

 

Wasik Fartousi, commander of al-Hashed al-Sha’bi forces in Haditha, stated for IraqiNews.com, “The security forces and sons of the clans, backed by Sadr Martyr forces, had managed to repel an assault by ISIS militants on several areas in the district of Haditha, including al-Baghdadi, Barwana, Albu Hayat, Albu Alwas,” indicating that, “The operation resulted in killing 44 ISIS elements and destroying six booby-trapped Humvee vehicles as well as seven other cars.”

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Media military cell announced on Tuesday the killing of 18 “terrorists” in “painful” aerial strike targeted ISIS nest western Anbar.

 

The cell said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com: “The heroes of the air force directed a painful blow on a big large den of ISIS elements in Barwana area located in Haditha district”.

 

The statement added, “The strike resulted in the killing of more than 18 terrorists and the injury of large numbers,” noting that, “the death toll continues to rise.”
