Spokesperson KPC Talal Al-Khalid Al-Sabah announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Iraq on the joint border fields between the two sides and the other to study and research opportunities to import natural gas by pipeline from Iraq to Kuwait.
Talal Al-Sabah said in a press statement on Monday, that "memoranda of understanding, the fruit of a meeting between the parties yesterday and today."
He explained that "the oil ministry undersecretary acting on Sep Bin Sabit chaired the Kuwaiti side while presided over the older proxy Iraqi Oil Ministry Fayyad good grace of the Iraqi side."
He pointed out that "these meetings came at the behest of the parties for joint cooperation between them and strengthen the ties of friendship and develop diversified economic relations on the basis of common interest and based on mutual respect for the sovereignty of each nation."
Kuwaiti official stressed that "the main objective of the two memoranda of understanding is to facilitate negotiations and developing frameworks for joint intentions between the two sides on the principles of cooperation, praising the Iraqi side cooperation through negotiations and agreement the two sides to achieve the desired goal and strengthen the bonds of cooperation and achieve common interests of the two sisters."
The Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi has revealed during his visit to Kuwait on 21 January last to attend an oil conference on Iraq sought to provide Kuwait with natural gas, and negotiations began between the two countries in this field. "
