Over 4,000 ground combat troops from Fort Carson’s 3rd Brigade are being sent to Kuwait under this new deployment, where they will make up the region’s largest collection of US ground troops, which will include heavy armored vehicles. Even as President Obama continues to deny plans for a ground war, it’s not a secret what the troops are being sent to Kuwait for, and officials say they’re prepared for “any contingency,” which in this context means a fight with ISIS. The US has scattered its current ground contingent in Iraq across several different areas, with the 320 ground troops deployed as “trainers” in the Anbar Province now on the front lines of the Iraq-ISIS war. ISIS fires intermittently at their base, and it seems only a matter of time before they’re in direct combat. Which is where the “over 4,000″ troops from Fort Carson come in. Unlike the putative trainers being sent, these include not only infantry but a whole brigade with the large amount of armored units. There’s not even the pretense that these guys aren’t being sent for a very heavy ground war. The White House has admitted as much this week as well, following up President Obama’s Tuesday pledge not to get involved in a ground war with talk of “flexibility,” and dismissing the AUMF pledge to avoid “enduring offensive ground combat operations” as literally meaningless, saying they had no definition at all of “enduring.” Whatever enduring means, the troops from Fort Carson are about to find out, and officials are either waiting for the AUMF or some ready-made emergency with the Anbar troops to launch the ground war. http://news.antiwar.com/2015/02/13/escalation-us-sending-over-4000-ground-troops-to-kuwait/ 4K combat troops head to Kuwait, will become region’s largest U.S. ground force Image: Facebook Fort Carson, Colorado. more > By Douglas Ernst - The Washington Times - Friday, February 13, 2015 More than 4,000 soldiers from Fort Carson, Colorado’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team are headed to Kuwait. Once there, they will become the largest ground force in the region. “We are absolutely ready for this mission,” the brigade’s commander, Col. Greg Sierra said at a deployment ceremony, The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Friday. “We are prepared for any contingency. […] In the end, if we do get into fights, we win decisively,” he added. The 3rd Brigade Combat Team’s deployment ceremony comes just two days after President Obama sent his authorization for use of military force (AUMF) to members of Congress. The plan would grant U.S. presidents the ability to dispatch a range of military assets for the Islamic State fight until 2018. The U.S. Army has kept a brigade in Kuwait since 2011 and recently began using those soldiers to help train allies for battles against the Islamic State group, the Gazette reported. whatsthis
I know having boots on the ground is a sore subject. But if we expect Iraq to grow we need to be in their helping them fight terrorism or it will spill on to our own soil just like what happened on 9/11. We don't need another 9/11 we need to take out these bone heads now before it gets out of control. Go in remove ISIS than leave. Iraq had a person running the show who only cared about how much went into his pocket not the country. As we all hold dinar removing these terrorist will help in bring value to the dinar we hold.

dontlop
It seems there's a lot of military experts that disagree and think we shoukdnt of left but obama didn't view it that way Harry Reid said we lost the war But then we had a surge and calmed things down but soon after the troops left things just went right back to where they were Following the invasion, the situation deteriorated to the extent that in 2006–2007, Iraq was on the brink of civil war. However, conditions improved following a surge in U.S. troops in 2007–2008, and the war was declared formally over in December 2011, with the U.S. troops leaving the country For 10 years, members of Saddam Hussein's Baathist party -- including many of the dead dictator's top generals -- have hidden in the shadows of Iraq, persecuted by government in Baghdad and plotting, praying and preparing for the chance to reclaim their country. Now they are back, paired in a bloodthirsty alliance with the brutal jihadis of the Islamic States of Iraq and Syria/Levant. These vicious Islamic radicals fighting alongside top officials from Hussein's dictatorship, are working to seize control of the battle-scarred nation. For now, their objectives converge
