RedTailedHawk
AWESOME NEWS!!! One more piece of the puzzle...While I have not totally drank the Goat-Kool-Aid, I have paid attention to her posts because it seems she has had some accurate info. Several times over a month ago she said that Shab's acquittal would be a necessary piece of the RV pie, and that he is playing an important part behind the scenes.I like Laid-Back's list... it really feels like we are almost there. The baby's about to be born.

Once maliki was taken out, I expect all of them he falsely accused (such as Hashemi, that are still alive) will get justice.

mark_mich266
Thanks for the heads up DT. Wouldn't you love to be nearby if that hallway walk came to pass, King Bean, but since McSlicki has the (alleged) murder plot hanging over his stupid a$$, methinks Shabs would have nothing to worry about (hopefully) and would have the last laugh. I wonder if Mr. Shabibi and PM Abadi have talked over lunch yet?

fnbplanet
I've been thinking about the timimg of shabby's return. First, Shabs would NOT have physically returned to Baghdad without an assurance of not being imprisoned, being protected from Maliki or even losing his case. Agreed? Second, these assurances and protections had to be "negotiated". We all know Iraqi negotiating takes time - a LOT of time. Third, these talks had to have taken a while, so this has been in the works, while a new government is still forming, the country is under attack, the budget and HCL are being ironed out, etc. Surely this could have waited a little bit longer - what with all that is happening so fast in BagDaddyland, right? He's been gone for TWO FULL YEARS - what's the hurry now? Again, I say: What's the hurry now? Fast-tracking a CBI's former head wrongful accusations doesn't seemingly fit the overall "big picture" of Iraq's priorities presently.... unless, say, some project needs some personal direction to meet a deadline at years end. After all, wasn't it Shabbibi who said that the currency change would need to start at the beginning of a year? just sayin'..... MyLadiesDaddy
This is big news because he was/has been the genius behind the stabilization of the IQD, and developed the original plan to return the currency to it's former glory. A country with THAT much strife has a miniscule inflation rate - not a miracle, but a well executed plan. The fact that it has been held together this much, IN SPITE OF MALIKI, is a tribute to this man's plans. His return may clarify/accellerate any current plans developed since his departure. Sorry you insecure people are so easily upset by an honest and simple question. I truly wanted to understand why you found this information so awesome. Now I know. I know policies are set in place, but it takes much more than one man's control to achieve the kind of economic stability we've seen in Iraq. Not to forget everything Shabibi said indicated his desire to l o p. I just don't believe any one man is responsible for what we hope to see with respect to the dinar.
