Among other things, Canseco quips he may be able to hit a softball farther with 9 fingers.

It doesn’t have quite the same cache as putting his World Series ring on the block, but former slugger Jose Canseco tweeted his intent to auction off a unique personal item: his left middle finger.

Canseco accidentally blew off the digit late last month while cleaning his gun in the kitchen of the Las Vegas home he shares with fiancee, Leila Knight, and he was taken to University Medical Center for emergency surgery that same day.

Now Canseco wants to put the infamous body part on eBay. It’s probably safe to say the online item won’t break the Internet in the same fashion as Kim Kardashian’s bare bottom photo.

Jose Canseco accidentally shot off his middle finger while cleaning his gun in the Las Vegas home he shares with fiancee, Leila Knight.

“I will soon put the finger that fell off in the poker tournament on eBay for sale,” Canseco tweeted Monday.

The 1988 AL MVP played in a poker tournament Thursday and later tweeted that his surgically-attached finger fell off in the middle of card play. Canseco also tweeted, much to many followers’ dismay, that the finger “was smelling really bad.”

Canseco, 50, hinted that he may offer up a package deal on eBay, which will include the same weapon that he was cleaning when the shooting accident occurred.

“The eBay ad will read slightly used middle finger with 462 home runs could be used as a stirring straw for drinks,” Canseco tweeted Monday. “The 45 caliber Remington has a chrome mirror finish with custom grips with crystals and gold plating in the grips. maybe I will make it a package the chrome 45 caliber Remington with the finger both for sale a package deal.”

Canseco could not be reached, and Knight did not return a call for comment. Let the bidding begin.
