Rayzur
Seems a new war brands each new generation with an indelible mark that we will each carry in our own way as individuals. It is that same indelible mark that transcends all differences and forever banding us together .....we remain one band of brothers and sisters in arms. To all those who served and are still serving, I salute you on this day of remembering Still one of my favorites... dedicated to all my brothers and sisters in arms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xvLzVORTYY Edited November 11, 2014 by Rayzur
Rayzur
Fellow vets of the Vietnam War.... thank you for a sacrifice so great in serving our country during such a difficult time. The Draft was still with us, and tore many young men from homes and lives they would have rather not left behind. Thank you vets of Vietnam for your service .... and for paving the way for the rest of us... such that no other veteran returning home since your time, has ever had to endure the pain of an unwelcoming country when returning to US soil. It is because of your sacrifice I and thousands of others never had to suffer all those difficult hurtful obstacles upon returning home from the already difficult challenges of combat in hell's kitchens. I salute you.... trying to post all videos together and having to wait for it to time out and then I post the next set.... plz hold off comments till I get them all.. thx! Probably be here all night.. Edited November 11, 2014 by Rayzur

Sage449
Rayzur - my dad served in WWII, my twin uncles in the Korean war, three of my good friends in Vietnam war and they have all left this earth, and my nephew three times in Iraq, three times in Afghanistan and once in Desert Storm - he is a marine and a helicopter specialist. I've thanked God on so many occasions for his safe return. So when it comes to honoring what the men and women of the military do for all of us knowingly I cannot honor or praise them enough. littlefeet
A co-worker of mine showed some pictures today of his time in Desert Storm...He's never mentioned his service for our country until today. Said he had served twenty years. As he finished showing the pictures to us, looking back now, he seemed real proud, none of the other guys seemed to catch it, but I did. The guys went back to what they were doing, but I found myself waiting for him to return to his area which was near where I was working. I extended my hand and told him " Thank You for Your Service "..... his eyes welled up a little and I told him, ' I really do ! ' ...... He hugged me, tight, like a father or brother would. He told me how much that meant to him, and he appreciated "me". Felt odd that he would thank me, but, he said, without you caring, and all the others at home caring, we could not have done what we did. He said they all knew it while they were over there fighting. It really meant a lot to him. I just thought I would let y'all know what the Service Men and Women have in their hearts...some of us already know, but some may not........ HAPPY VETERANS DAY Great thread Rayzur...............
tankdude
I'm know I'm a bit late - But I to wish to thank all of those who have served before me and are currently serving - no matter the branch. I was a bit busy yesterday - color guard for a local parade, then had to travel 60 miles for a board meeting of the Montana National Guard Enlisted Association. I'm on the board and part of the conference committee. As such, I do have a special regard for the Citizen Soldier - so especially for those: http://www.military.com/video/off-duty/music/3-doors-down-citizen-soldier/1513090563001/
