Oh Brinx65 that one got me "a dirt nap due to lead poisoning." Thanks....

Rob O'Neill: US Navy Seal who shot Osama Bin Laden outed

One of Navy Seals involved in the mission in Pakistan in 2011 receives warning from military authorities after threatening to break ranks - disgruntled by loss of benefits - to discuss operation on television

A A A

The man who killed Osama bin Laden in the raid on his Abbottabad compound on 2 May 2011 made headlines around the world.

He was congratulated personally by President Barack Obama, and his exploits immortalised in three Hollywood movies. And yet nobody knew his name – until now.

Ahead of an interview with Fox News next week, the Navy Seal known hitherto only as “the Shooter” has been identified as 38-year-old Rob O’Neill, a former member of the famous Seal Team Six, who recently quit the elite service and is now a motivational speaker. He was named on Wednesday by the special operations community blog, Sofrep.com.

Mr O’Neill, a senior chief petty officer, was decorated 52 times. In an interview with MailOnline, his father Tom O’Neill said the one medal he was never awarded was a Purple Heart, but “that’s because he was never in action where a colleague was killed or injured”.

Mr O’Neill has reportedly decided to reveal his identity out of frustration at the loss of some veterans’ benefits, which he forfeited by leaving the Navy after 16 years instead of a full 20. Speaking out may cost him his reputation among his former colleagues, who prize discretion. In a letter published this week, two senior officers threatened Mr O’Neill with “judicial consequences” should he reveal any classified information, noting: “A critical [tenet] of our ethos is, ‘I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions.’”

06-intogether-ap.jpgBarack Obama and Hillarious Clinton took personal responsibility, and praise, for the US finding and killing Osama bin Laden

Mr O’Neill grew up in the old mining town of Butte, Montana, where his father Tom still lives, in a one-storey home decorated with some of the stuffed big game that the pair shot together on hunting trips when Rob was a boy.

The former Seal has told audiences that, after growing up a hunter, he joined the US Navy hoping to become a sniper. He also said he was keen to leave town following a failed high-school romance. His father tells a slightly different story. “We were going hunting and a friend asked us to take a guy who was a Navy Seal with us,” the 65-year-old told MailOnline. “We were expecting someone who was 6ft 8in who could lift a house with his bare hands, but he was this normal guy. And Rob said if this guy could be a Seal, then so could he.”

He joined up at 19 and went on to take part in more than 400 combat missions, on a dozen tours of duty, in four separate war zones. In 2005, a Seal mission to capture a senior Taliban commander in Afghanistan went horribly awry: three of the four Seals were killed and a helicopter shot down as it came to their aid, killing 16 more servicemen. Mr O’Neill was on the team that finally rescued the remaining Seal, Marcus Luttrell, who was played by Mark Wahlberg in Lone Survivor, a 2013 film about the failed mission.

In April 2009, Mr O’Neill was interrupted while attending an event at his daughter’s nursery school, on his own birthday, to fly to the Indian Ocean, where he participated in the rescue of Richard Phillips, captain of the Maersk Alabama container ship, who had been taken hostage by Somali pirates. That operation was later depicted in the 2013 movie Captain Phillips.

Mr O’Neill’s exploits were also central to Zero Dark Thirty, the 2012 dramatisation of the hunt for Bin Laden. The 38-year-old has said he killed the terrorist with three close-range shots to the head, though that has been disputed by another unnamed Seal, who said Mr O’Neill shot Bin Laden once, mortally wounding him, but that the al-Qaeda mastermind was then killed by two of Mr O’Neill’s team-mates, with shots to the chest.

Mr O’Neill intends to give his account of the events in the first instalment of his two-part Fox News interview, to be broadcast next Tuesday. Yet this week he was warned about breaking his silence in a letter to current and former Seals from the leaders of the US Naval Special Warfare Command, who wrote, “We do not abide wilful or selfish disregard for our core values in return for public notoriety and financial gain, which only diminishes otherwise honourable service, courage and sacrifice.”

Rob-Oneill.jpgRob O'Neil has become a public speaker since leaving the US Navy Seals

Rear Admiral Brian Losey and Force Master Chief Michael Magaraci added that Mr O’Neill could face legal action. “Classified information is protected by law,” they noted. “We will actively seek judicial consequence for members who wilfully violate the law, and place our team-mates, our families, and potential future operations at risk.”

Months after the 2011 operation in Abbottabad, CNN reported that the Seal who killed Bin Laden had been “thrown off” the core of Seal Team Six after being accused of “bragging about his role in the raid in bars.” But until now O’Neill has given just one interview about his involvement, to Esquire magazine in 2013, in which he was identified only as “the Shooter”.

In that interview, he expressed concerns about potentially missing out on healthcare and other benefits provided to veterans, and claimed that the Seals had offered to find him work as a delivery man. Instead he became a motivational speaker, translating his combat command experience into leadership lessons for executives under the slogan, “Never quit”.

His vague but impressive CV as a speaker describes him as “the man on the ground we have never heard of but know exists”. In a promotional clip, Mr O’Neill said he could not discuss much of career in public, because, “A lot of the stuff that is out there is still classified.”

In the Esquire piece, Mr O’Neill’s wife admitted she feared a retaliatory attack after Bin Laden’s death, and that the couple had separated and were considering drastic steps to protect her and her children. “We’re actually looking into changing my name,” she said. “Changing the kids’ names... Essentially deleting him from our lives, but for safety reasons. We still love each other.”

Mr O’Neill’s father was unperturbed by the prospect of retaliation, however, saying, “People are asking if we are worried that Isis will come and get us because Rob is going public. I say I’ll paint a big target on my front door and say ‘Come and get us’.”

The story behind the shoot down of ‘Extortion 17′ – Part 1

Most people know SEAL Team 6 killed Osama bin Laden, but few know what happened afterwards, and why.

On Aug. 6 2011, members of SEAL Team 6 engaged in another covert raid in Afghanistan. As they approached the drop zone, Taliban forces attacked using rocket propelled grenades. The CH-47 carrying the SEALS with the call-sign “Extortion 17″ was was hit by one of the rockets tearing off ten and a half feet of one of its main rotor blades. Extortion 17 crashed, killing 30 Americans and eight Afghans. It is the single largest one day loss of life in the history of Naval Special Warfare division and of the entire 12-year Afghanistan campaign. One of those aboard was US Navy SEAL Aaron Vaughn.

Now his parents Karen and Billy Vaughn are speaking out about what happened and the catalog of errors that led to the downing of Extortion 17.

“On May 1, SEAL Team 6, as we know now unfortunately, killed Osama bin Laden. On May 2, Joe Biden, in an unprecedented act, no let’s just call it what it is, in a breach of national security, outed the SEALs as the ones who took down bin Laden. It had never been done.”

Karen explains that after the Vice President made his statement their son called home, very concerned about their safety.

“Within twenty four hours Aaron called home and said, ‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean. I mean, you need to get everything off of it.’ My son was never nervous. He was a fearless warrior. He was worried that day. Not for himself he was nervous for his loved ones, who couldn’t defend themselves.”

According to Karen, based on written testimony that the Vaughns now have in their possession, after the Biden made his statement, increased chatter from the Taliban showed they were devoting their efforts to downing a NATO chopper.

The Vaughns argue that administration officials, including Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon Panetta, was so keen to garner good publicity from the SEALs’ operations that operational security was jeopardized in favor of sympathetic coverage. This included revealing classified details including the names of the SEALs involved to Hollywood director Kathryn Bigelow to assist in the making of the movie “Zero Dark Thirty.”

“The special forces community went crazy in fear for their families,” Karen said.

The Vaughns believe that the llaissez faire approach to operational security in Afghanistan, including the sharing of tactical information with unsecure Afghan forces, led to the Taliban being able to accurately target the forces of SEAL Team 6.

“They knew who was on that chopper that night,” Aaron’s father said. ”By 2009, our ambassador had made a statement that the American government believed that at least 25 percent of the Afghan national Army was infiltrated by the Taliban.”

Watch part two of the interview with Karen and Billy Vaughn here.

Pentagon puts out another fake bin Laden story

385137_fake-bin-Laden-story.jpg

Former US Navy SEAL Robert O'Neill (pictured) said in an interview with The Washington Post on Thursday that he was the one who fired the final shot to kill Osama bin Laden in 2011.

RT, one of my favorite news sources, has fallen for a fake story put out by the Pentagon to support the fantasy story that a SEAL team killed Osama bin Laden, who died a second time in Abbottabad, Pakistan, a decade after his first death from illness and disease.

This fake story together with the fake movie and the fake book by an alleged SEAL team member is the way the fake story of bin Laden’s murder is perpetrated. Bin Laden’s alleged demise at the hands of a SEAL team was a propaganda orchestration, the purpose of which was to give Obama a hero’s laurels and deep six Democratic talk of challenging his nomination for a second term.

Osama bin Laden died in December 2001 of renal failure and other health problems, having denied in his last recorded video any responsibility for 9/11, instead directing Americans to look inside their own government. The FBI itself has stated that there is no evidence that Osama bin Laden is responsible for 9/11. Bin Laden’s obituary appeared in numerous foreign and Arabic press, and also on Fox News. No one can survive renal failure for a decade, and no dialysis machine was found in the alleged Abbottabad compound of bin Laden, who allegedly was murdered by SEALs a decade after his obituary notices.

Additionally, no one among the crew of the ship from which the White House reported bin Laden was buried at sea saw any such burial, and the sailors sent messages home to that effect. Somehow a burial was held onboard a ship on which there are constant watches and crew on alert at all hours, and no one witnessed it.

The White House story of the alleged murder of bin Laden changed twice within the first 24 hours. The claim that Obama and his government watched the action transmitted live from cameras on the SEALs’ helmets was quickly abandoned, despite the release of a photo of the Obama regime intently focused on a TV set and alleged to be watching the live action. No video of the deed was ever released. To date there is no evidence whatsoever in behalf of the Obama regime’s claim. Not one tiny scrap. Just unsubstantiated self-serving claims.

Additionally, as I have made available on my website, witnesses interviewed by Pakistan TV reported that only one helicopter landed in Abbottabad and that when the occupants of the helicopter returned from the alleged bin Laden compound, the helicopter exploded on takeoff and there were no survivors. In other words, there was no bin Laden corpse to deliver to the ship that did not witness a burial and no SEAL hero to return who allegedly murdered an unarmed bin Laden. Moreover, the BBC interviewed residents in Abbottabad, including those next door to the alleged “bin Laden compound,” and all say that they knew the person who lived there and it was not bin Laden.

Any SEAL who was so totally stupid as to kill the unarmed “Terror Mastermind” would probably have been court martialed for incompetency. Look at the smiling face of the man Who Killed Bin Laden. He thinks that his claim that he murdered a man makes him a hero, a powerful comment on the moral degeneracy of Americans.

So what is this claim by Rob O’Neill about? He is presented as a “motivational speaker” in search of clients. What better ploy among gullible Americans than to claim “I am the one who shot bin Laden.” Reminds me of the western movie: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. What better way to give Rob O’Neill’s claim validity than for the Pentagon to denounce his revelation for breaking obligation to remain silent. The Pentagon claims that O’Neill by claiming credit has painted a big target sign on our door asking ISIS to come get us

What unbelievable nonsense. ISIS and anyone who believed Obama’s claim to have done in bin Laden already knew, if they believed the lie, that the Obama regime claimed responsibility for murdering an unarmed bin Laden. The reason the SEAL team was prevented from talking is that no member of the team was on the alleged mission.

Just as the ship from which bin Laden was allegedly buried has no witnesses to the deed, the SEAL unit, whose members formed the team that allegedly dispatched an unarmed Terrorist Mastermind rather than to take him into custody for questioning, mysteriously died in a helicopter crash when they were loaded in violation of procedures in an unprotected 1960s vintage helicopter and sent into a combat zone in Afghanistan shortly after the alleged raid on “bin Laden’s compound.”

For awhile there were news reports that the families of these dead SEALS do not believe one word of the government’s account. Moreover, the families reported receiving messages from the SEALs that suddenly they felt threatened and did not know why. The SEALs had been asking one another: “Were you on the bin Laden mission?” Apparently, none were. And to keep this a secret, the SEALs were sent to their deaths.

Anyone who believes anything the US government says is gullible beyond the meaning of the word.
