Expert: billion dollars in today's Iraq, the loss due to holidays

Baghdad \ Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network  IMN  - said economic expert on behalf of Jamil Antoine loss to Iraq in the days of holidays irregulars of up to one billion dollars, and these holidays delayed the process of sustainable growth.

Said Antoine's ( IMN ) said that "the large number of holidays will reduce the size of the gross domestic product, in particular in the industrial, agricultural, commercial and construction operations."

He stressed that "the gross domestic product up to 300 billion dollars, mostly from oil, and arithmetic, every day is a regular holiday would cause the loss of Iraq's nearly billion dollars."

He added that "the situation in Iraq now needs a thorny great continuity and productivity and maximum absorption of the workforce stalled by up to 30%."

Iraq occupies the first place among the nations of the world in the number of holidays, which according to the law up to the holidays 150 days a year.

150 holidays a year? Are you shi**ing me? And we wonder why these guys are not the most productive people in the world.

There's a word for this............it's called procrastination.

 

There comes a time when you have to draw the line on whether to take action or make the decision to do nothing.  

 

It's the latter of those two decisions that will eventually come back to bite them in the butt..........if it hasn't already.

 

Hopefully Iraq will learn to be proactive instead of reactive.   If they do this, they'll soon find themselves catching up with the rest of the world.

Take a two day feast and turn it into two weeks. If ISIS was such a big concern then they would be meeting every day, all day long. Their priorities...line their pockets while they do nothing. Read AIN all Iraq news. Bombs, executions....and the soccer team scores. The poor get used as human shields while parliament meets one day in 14 and goes on feast. What a screwed up country.
