Happy Wednesday all!

I'm just going to give cliffnotes today, as I'm working on
a couple of big projects for the VIP group.

Parliament still working on the budget... that's nothing
new, but it appears they are making progress.

Maliki has yet to be replaced and is maintaining his
role as Prime Minister still. There is nobody likely to
get enough support in Baghdad to replace him, so like
i've been saying for the last few months... he's
probably going to stay.

A new name you might want to get familiar with is
"Muhammad Fuad Masum", the new Iraqi President. We will
still hear Talabani's name as he will still be active
in the political party Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

Speaking of Kurdistan, there is a pretty big deal going
on right now... they currently have a tanker sitting off
the coast of Texas carrying $100 million worth of crude.
They declared a major victory when they were to offload
it Monday, but a Judge put a temporary delay on this.
We are currently waiting for the KRG to make their case...
and if they are able to offload this shipment and collect
that money, they will have won a MAJOR victory! Again
putting more pressure on Baghdad, which is good for us.

Kurdistan is outright defying Baghdad in what I believe
to be a completely legal manner regardless of what the
Shiites claim. Kurdistan also has a referendum coming up
to vote for Independence. I don't see it happening as of
yet, but again... all these things are pushing for action
instead of complacency and delays.

Overall... it's looking like we're in for an exciting
month of August!

:twothumbs:

===== Here's the weekly Q&A: ======
robert c  Dear Adam  you have said in the pass that the CBI is the only one that can rv. Cbi has stated  that despite all the problems that IRAQI has that the dinar is still strong. So can't the CBI rv without parliament or a pm?

Absolutely :twothumbs:

countryroads  Adam. With Ramadon almost over, do you believe we will start to see a lot of activity leading to an R/V? Or do you think that we still have a lot of political manuvering to go through? I sure hope that they will put on the "big boy" pants and join the rest of planet earth.

Thanks Adam.

August is going to be an exciting month. :twothumbs:

furrylittlekitty  Adam,I tried to take advantage of the half price offer for Platinum Lifetime VIP. However , I do not have a credit card.
I printed out the completed form (with today's date on it). Is there an address I can mail this form and my payment to?

Please send an email to VIP@dinarvets.com for help with this. Welcome aboard!

geographer  I read a post that implied the hcl had been implemented any truth to that?

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to call shennanigans on that rumor. :twocents:

Adam, your opinion on Maliki retaining a 3rd term is quite amazing given the articles coming out lately.  The State Law has lost members to the National Alliance and now we are reading that Maliki has withdrew.  What are you seeing/reading to corroborate your opinion on?

I'm not saying I like it... but as I've stated many times, there is nobody that can get the support needed to remove him.

Maliki has not withdrawn.

Not sure that I agree that Maliki will stay. The SOL is SOL and so is Maliki.

I would love to see him gone, but the other candidates seem to be getting a mixed Sunni vote while Maliki gets a solid Shiite vote.

:twocents:

Out of curiosity... Who specifically do you think will replace him?

Thanks Adam. I will be looking for the VIP email today.

Adam any truth to the BRICS being held off until the IDQ RI/RV?

That sounds like a guru post or a rumor... I don't go there.

Iraqi News has reported this morning that Maliki will not seek a 3rd term. He states  political pressure as the reason for his decision.

Bumper64 currently owes me 400 pushups, although he doesn't know it yet. (personal bet in the backroom of DV over an unrelated matter ;) )

If Maliki actually steps down in the next month, I will reverse/cancel that debt and give Bumper an additional 400 pushups.

What I'm saying is... AGAIN, I don't see Maliki stepping down. And I've put my muscles where my mouth is. :D
