Maliki may have 175 seats, but he needs at least 218 to pass Infrstructure, HCL, Federation Council etc....  If he does not have this number, I'm afraid we may be in the same situation as far as legislation and parliament approval that we are in now.  He definely has enough to pass the budget, but not the important laws to move Iraq into the 21st Century.

Thanks for these 3 articles (+1) ... But, I tend to agree with AmericaInc ... Maliki is manipulating the news.  I recently received an email that indicated that the Shia Cleric al-Sistani sent a letter to Teheran that he endorses Hakim for PM of Iraq.  I posted the contents of the email i n Dinar Rumors, since I didn't have an Iraqi News link...!  :confused2:

 I'll give you Five (5) Stars since you've posted some shocking news - in triplicate...LOL...!  :salute:

I tend to agree with Ron. We all know Maliki controls the majority of the news, and while these articles are indeed in the news, I feel it is Pure Baloney. Period.  I think that Maliki's reign is over.

More lies from al-Bayati.  Mr Montana, why dont you address the plethora of articles from every one of the so-called "agreed to the third mandate" blocs whom within 24hrs of Maliki or some SOL goon saying they've agreed, they say it is an out-right lie.  How about the article about Maliki's aid telling him to inflate his numbers to the media.  How about Maliki spending 100million dollars paid to the media to say everything he tells him to?  If he had enough seats to form a majority government, why would he need to do that?   He claims to have 175 seats.  Hakim and the new coalition claim to have 200.  There are only 328, whom do think is lying?  Probably the one who always does.  The Shiite religious authority wont even see him.  An article came out yesterday from Sistani saying he turned them away for the third time.  He also said that he supported him for his second term and regretted doing so becuase of Miliki's governmental failures.

You have said in the past many things that I thought were pretty fair-minded.  I give you respect as an admin here, but you stated before the elections that Maliki would remain PM and thats fine to stick to your guns, but ignoring all these things that point to "no third" for Maliki is mystifiying to me.  Why you believe anything the SOL says is questionable at best.   If it turns out that somehow some way he stays in, I will admit I was wrong.  Will you?

rissas dad, I'm not here to debate you. If I turn out to be wrong, I'll admit it and we will move on, won't we?

Have a nice day. :tiphat:

Yes we will.  We will agree to disagree on the fate of Maliki.  I wouldnt feel so strongly about it but the fact that Maliki hasnt done what we want over the last 8 years, why would he be willing to do it now.  If it werent for that I wouldnt care who was PM.

sorry if i'm being a jerk, Im weary of the junk the state of law has put out this week, getting a little punchy.
