Political consensus on the rejection of the third term and messengers Maliki returning empty-handed from Arbil
BAGHDAD - ((eighth day))

A source close to the coalition of state law, on Thursday, that most of the political blocs to participate in elections, agreed not to give al-Maliki for a third term, while al-Maliki returned messengers of Arbil without obtaining a promise from Kurdish leaders to renew the third term.

The source said that "coalition united, national and Liberals and the Bloc citizens and other small blocks have agreed through bilateral and trilateral meetings during the past few days not to give al-Maliki for a third term."

He added, "Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and his ministers Kurds carry messages to Arbil and Sulaymaniyah to support his candidacy for the third term, but the minister returned without obtaining a promise from the Kurdish leaders."

The leader of the National Iyad Allawi, had said earlier that the "head of state of law and some of his supporters from the referees failed with distinction in performance in many fields, including security and services, the economy and perhaps the most important of them is the failure of the political file."

The leaders of the Liberals and the Bloc coalition of citizen and united and a number of small blocks several meetings to agree on a new image for the next government away from the presidency Nuri al-Maliki.

Interesting article, thanks TBomb...

Could be like Adam mused, the Kurds are awaiting a larger share of the oil revenues or a piece of the RV money.  It's not over for Maliki, I believe the deal is now in full blown buy out mode.

I feel it in the air tonight.  Oh, it's over for him.  This way the only way to get him and keep their life.  Pacifiy him till it's time to go.  There ain't nobody wants him, even the Dawa dumped him, but the few that stayed lost their butts in the elections.    I guess the results will tell all.  And the new parliament will NEVER allow him back.  Hakim, Sadr, Allawi, and Najafi have aligned themselves against maliki's policies.  Now, Barzani, he is a possible candidate for the Presidency.  Now he wouldn't be a good candidate if he were partial.   He must be neutral.  That is most likely why we don't hear anything from him negative about maliki.  JMHO......but it sounds so logical to me.
