Mr. Aref Tayfur demands that the United Nations and the international community to intervene to end the policy of blockade and pressure on the Kurdish people
February 25, 2014

Unfortunately become clear and evident to all that practiced by the federal government of the methods unconstitutional against the Kurdistan Region through a policy of economic blockade and pressure on the Kurdish people and the looting of their legitimate rights, and incorporating it is unjustified in the political problems and crises which reminds us of the past ugly and Maanah Kurdish people from authoritarian regimes and governments Previous since the founding of the Iraqi state, and therefore call upon the United Nations to intervene immediately and supervision of natural resources to be distributed fairly to the people of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and the issuance of international resolutions, as happened in the past when it imposed economic embargo on the Iraqi people and the United Nations issued its call (986) in 1995 and on Iraq on oil-for-food program, which allocated whereby a share of oil sales to the Kurdistan Region except Kurdish areas outside the region.

We also call on the European Union and the United States and the international community and the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab League and friendly peoples using their powers to put pressure on the federal government in Baghdad to end the policy of economic blockade and stop the suffering and submitting the financial benefits of the region's share of 17% and as soon as the payment of salaries to the staff of the Territory as a constitutional right and legal, and we stress once again that the problems and outstanding issues between the province and the center resolved through dialogue and negotiation table because the Kurds are partners in this nation and the Kurdish people made great sacrifices for freedom and democracy.

*** I've been wanting to urge people re this for a while now....Don't you think it's better to get news from the direct govt sources, as opposed to waiting for all of these articles from biased news sites to come out and then pinning your/our hopes on those articles?  If we look at direct news from the govt sites, we're more likely to get at least somewhat closer to the source of truth of the other news site's articles.

I say this, because I notice that these govt posts from me, Yota and Buti and others, are, for the most part, ignored. This is where the real news  comes from everyone.  We get bits of truth from the articles and then we have to piece correlating articles from other sources, together, trying to get some kind of glimpse of what MAY BE the truth.

Tbomb I understand your frustration that these types of posts don't get as much attention as they should. I agree that any other posts from the media are controlled and probably distorted much like our media here in the U.S. and that this is where we should focus our efforts.

In regards to the U.S. Treasury meeting....is it normal for our treasury department to have any input on their draft budget as it states? I don't remember hearing in the past that The U.S. was involved in Iraq's budget talks.

Well Tank, Perhaps Buti may shed more light on this, but as I haven't read or had access to, in order to read, the SFA, the UNAMI mandate, and other official reports and/or agreements pertaining to the US's controls and/or relationship with Iraq, it's hard to say. But I do believe that we're still obligated to help Iraq (legally).  So this information seems applicable.

I guess the other side of that question Tbomb is, are they asking for our (the U.S. Treasury) input on their budget or are we taking it upon ourselves to advise.  Buti, curious on your input.

The US Treasury has a key element to the financial progress made by Iraq, and was a key contributor to the "plan".  Having a meeting with the UST is not unusual.  Hopefully, the meeting is keying up the type of action and finality we are looking for, but their involvement has been fudiciary and an absolute necessity.  Iraq has not developed their systems, we have.

Iraq is our client state/ally.

Their country and resources are ours as a product of war.

Like the Phillipines, Chile (CIA) Iran (CIA - Shah), Vietnam, Germany (post war - bases), Marshall Islands, Japan (post war),

Qatar, Colombia (drug wars), Panama (Noriega-CIA).........the list goes on

The RV is not in Iraq's hands alone.
