DNC Worried About Obama Impeachment

DNC sends email defending Obama from impeachment possibility

7:11 PM 12/28/2013

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) sent out a paranoid email Saturday evening urging supporters to vote for Democrats so that Republicans can’t impeach President Obama.

The email, subject line “Impeachment,” was sent to Obama for America supporters, imploring them to contribute to the DNC’s 2014 efforts. “What do these people all have in common?,” the email asked, featuring quotes from Republican Sen. James Inhofe of Oklahoma, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Rep. Kerry Bentivolio of Michigan, and Rep. Blake Farenthold of Texas discussing the possibility of impeaching Obama for one of his numerous instances of presidential misconduct.

The DNC email discussed the “I-Word” and said that “Republicans are actually excited about the idea.”

“Show these Republicans that they are way, way off-base, and give President Obama a Congress that has his back,” according to the DNC email, noting that Democrats need to win 17 GOP House seats to reclaim a majority.

The DNC, which recently expanded its political tactics to include boycotting independent news outlets, previously supported the last president to be impeached: Bill Clinton.

Obama’s staff changed key talking points on the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack; his Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative groups during the 2012 election cycle; and Obama personally lied to the American people when he told them that they could keep their existing doctors and health insurance plans under Obamacare.

Obama’s expansion of executive branch authority is “setting the stage for something very dangerous in the future” according to Republican Rep. Justin Amash.

The only people who are worried about impeachment is those who keep bringing up the I word.  They (the congress) is not going to impeach him.  Because if they do and it blows up in their face the ring leaders will be out of office and we can't have that happen.   Please send all negatives because that is the closest you are going to impeachment.  Silly Rabbit Tricks are for kids!!!

“I totally agree with, “He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone”.  It is not going to happen, and I say that as a proud Progressive/Democrat. However, I wish the Republican/Tea Party would try.  An attempt of this type by the Republican/Tea Party, will make it so much better for the Democrats, especially, the “Tea Party” element.

The only people that don't want him impeached are the brainwashed, "low intelligence voters" and Communist. This man has severely damaged this country and the Constitution. He was placed where he is by nefarious people and the Demon-crats are responsible for all the damage he has done and is doing to this country. He is "setting the stage for something very dangerous" and only the "useful idiots" don't see that. We can only hope he gets Impeached before it's too late.

Must be a big worry for the DNC.

The last one was in 1974, forty years ago and even that one didn't go through fully.

Happens all the time.

For a college professor - your knowledge of history appears to be lacking so here is some information to help you out.

Actual impeachments of 19 federal officers have taken place. Of these, 15 were federal judges: thirteen district court judges, one court of appeals judge (who also sat on the Commerce Court), and one Supreme Court Associate Justice. Of the other four, two were Presidents, one was a Cabinet secretary, and one was a U.S. Senator. Of the 19 impeached officials, eight were convicted. One, former judge Alcee Hastings, was elected as a member of the United States House of Representatives after being removed from office.

The 1797 impeachment of Senator William Blount of Tennessee stalled on the grounds that the Senate lacked jurisdiction over him. Because, in a separate action unrelated to the impeachment procedure, the Senate had already expelled Blount, the lack of jurisdiction may have been either because Blount was no longer a Senator, or because Senators are not civil officers of the federal government and therefore not subject to impeachment. No other member of Congress has ever been impeached, although the Constitution does give authority to either house to expel its own members (not members of the other chamber), which each has done on occasion (see List of United States senators expelled or censured and List of United States Representatives expelled, censured, or reprimanded). Expulsion removes the individual from functioning as a representative or senator because of their misbehavior, but unlike impeachment, expulsion cannot result in barring an individual from holding future office.

Impeachment of Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton

In 1867 the 17th U.S. President Andrew Johnson, successor to the Presidency when Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, became the first President in American History to be impeached. Over One Hundred and Thirty years later history would repeat itself.

President Bill Clinton made a public apology from the White House Rose Garden on December 11, 1998 for his "words and deeds" during his presidency which brought the impeachment inquiry of Congress.  Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998. He is the second and only other President in American History to be impeached. In both Presidential impeachments the Articles of impeachment were drawn and a criminal trial in the U.S. Senate proceeded. However, both Johnson and Clinton were acquitted of the charges and were not removed from office. Johnson was spared removal of the high office by only one Senate vote.

Although I believe Obummer should be removed from office by Impeachment because of the total disregard for the office that he holds and the constant power grab that he executes on a daily basis, I think the 2/3 vote in the Senate will be a difficult hurdle to overcome even if the GOP takes back the Senate. I can still dream though.
