Bank Story, anyone else heard this?

Hi, I just got back from my local Wells Fargo. I went in figuring I should set up a small NIB account to have it ready to go, since I do not normally bank at WB.

This is what the banker told me. He said that WB, not just his branch but all of WB, is not planning on exchanging IQD until next year at the earliest. Furthermore, he said that our

government is 100% responsible for what currencies are "allowed" to be traded in the USA (not the IMF). He said in his opinion, it would take an Administration change for it to happen at all (if ever) because

it was mostly a political decision, meaning to allow IQD exchange would give Iraq too much power, which the US gov't doesn't want to do.

It was very discouraging. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

Thanks Dinar Buddy, for your vote of confidence.

Valtar and vandal, I know you don't know me from Jack but I swear on all I am that my story is true!

I just don't know if my banker was BSing me or not, which is why I posted, hoping maybe someone could shed some light on why he would tell me this?

I just haven't heard or read this anywhere else so it was confusing. And annoying! I want the RV as much as anyone else! Like NOW, preferably!

Not buying it.

I would just cash in in a country that the US does have on their list THEN cash in for US $

Naaaaa sound like BS to me. Respectively. No disrespect to the poster. :)

It's the OFAC list, but I don't believe Iraq is on it.  It's a list of prohibited countries to do business with, directly or indirectly.

I've only been in this game for 4 years and the one thing I've learned is no one really knows if, when, or what and that includes the Iraqi government. It could be happening right now as I type or next year or later. I'd be glad just to see some positive movement soon like you armsky7, so I wait. :rocking-chair:

IMO your banker knows nothing more than we do. More than likely we (the dinar community) have a lot more information than he/she or any banker for that matter. I don't personally believe that anyone with any real "inside info" on the situation would be talking about it anyway so, all of these bank stories always crack me up. No disrespect to you. If the person told you this it's not your fault, but I wouldn't get too twisted up about it. My advice would be just to call BS and move on.

"...not planning on exchanging IQD until next year at the earliest."

Ok, so rumor or not...I couldn't tell you.  What I do suggest is the part of your post I quoted makes no sense if the gov is not allowing trade.  Unless they think the "change in administration" ...Obama being removed from office...is going to happen next year?  And I must admit THAT thought makes me excited.  :bravo:

Siiiigh, but as reality settles back in, I'm not certain you got all the info correct...or if WB is full'a bull.  Makes no sense to say "not planning IQD trade until next year" if they also say the gov is not allowing it.  And that is what I get from your post...that the gov is not allowing it right now.

jus my opinion   :twocents:  and ty for the post

I had a similar experience last month. I went to my local WF bank and tapped on the bank manager's door. He looked up from his desk, and said with a broad smile and outstretched hand, "Hello, how can I help you?". When I mentioned Iraqi Dinar, he shot to his feet, pointed to the front door and said, "Get the HELL out of my bank!". The assistant manager, hearing the commotion, poked his head in the room and asked if there was a problem. When the main manager said Iraqi Dinar, he bust out laughing and wouldn't stop. It was very embarrassing. I left and never went back.

At or around any international airport there is a bank called a currency exchange

These are banks and  they will sell buy or exchange any currency you have or need

Now I am not saying these banks are the best places to do business, as their fees are high

But they are banks and they will exchange currencies into the currency of your choice

So I would say that your WF employee does not know WtF they are talking about

In regards to Wells Fargo in the Central Florida Area - Winter Haven/Auburndale  I have personally spoken with both Bank Managers and their reply has been that Wells Fargo will be one of the few banks that will be exchanging the IQD and that they are on a day to day basis - Meaning that they know that they will be exchanging it,  just not when. I have banked with Wells Fargo for over 6 years and know the managers well before I even mentioned the IQD to them.  One manager even asked me how much IQD I  held.  I am not saying that your comment on next year is not true - maybe that bank manager is tired of being asked something he nor anyone else at the moment has the answer to.  For now we all just wait and watch as we have become expert in doing up till now.

NOW THAT'S the most reliable bank story yet!   OBVIOUSLY, that  manager has a big position in IQD!

Armsky7,

If you were really given that reaction from WF I can only tell you this.................They are so fed up with everyone harassing them about the dinar that they are just saying whatever just to blow you off.

They dont know anything.  They will find out at the same time that we will. And on top of it all they probably wont be able to cash people out right away. They need to be prepared and organized to take care of

all the people that will be flooding their banks. Banks are'nt as prepared as people would think.......... they might even have to assigned special locations to only do dinar cash in.

I've worked in banking and when ever someone needed a certain amount of money it had to be special ordered. The bank did not keep it on hand. So if people think they're gonna walk out with money in hand

they are in for a big surprise. Dont plan on it. Cause it does'nt work that way. Its also a matter of security for both bank and customer.

Stick to Dinar Vets and leave the banks alone.................... :twocents:        :peace:

Oh speaking of Vegas, ....I'm almost getting the energy to work up to suggesting we consider a rehearsal meeting in Vegas for those interested.... You know, apart from an RV, those interested gather there.... and we can practice what we're going to do when we get together for the real gathering... That way we can work out any kinks and implement strategies for the problem areas we might identify, (e.g., if everyone assigned to group G gets arrested at the same time, do they call someone in group H or or group F for the bail out money) ...

Wha da ya think :eyebrows:

first of all a disclaimer-I am not an investment specialist or involved in any politcal action, independant in my position, and I didn't invest in the Dinar to get rich. As we all know we are involved in a "speculative investmentment". The planet is in turmoil. I believe it is important to not give in to fear. The larger "they" would be completely happy for us to do so. I choose to believe in the resolute potential people have to figure things out. Politicians will never give us answers tha satisfy us. Corporate Bankers will not either. Both factions have their own personal interests to serve. What about believing in a larger movement. We all invested with a vision of something greater than what we see in the usual stories people want to invest in. In any "investment" we invest in a larger picture. Believe in the creative vision of the planet. Go RV!

Hey kiddo must have missed that post . Whats up with the groups?  G,F,H

How do we know what group were in and who`s in each group. ?

And who decides who`s in who`s group?

Besides I see it more of people going to jail one at a time and not necessarily all going at once .   :)

hopefully
