COUPLE YEARS AGO, I STRESSED THAT IRAQ’S PHOSPHORUS RESERVES WOULD PLAY A KEY FACTOR IN THE END. LO AND BEHOLD, AN ARTICLE COMES OUT A FEW DAYS AGO PERTAINING TO JUST THAT. THEY ARE PHYSICALLY MINING AND EXPORTING PHOSPHORUS. SOME MIGHT SAY SO WHAT. WHEN THAT ARTICLE CAME OUT A COUPLE YEARS AGO, WE ALREADY KNEW THE WORLDS RESERVE FOR PHOSPHORUS WERE DOWN TO 15%. IRAQ HAS ENOUGH TO BRING THAT TOTAL UP TO 100%, AND THAT IS WHAT THE IMF WAS LOOKING FOR, AN EXPORT OTHER THAN OIL AND GAS.

AN EXPORT THAT IS USED IN MEDICINE, MAKING STEEL AND QUITE A FEW OTHER NECESSITIES IN LIFE. AND IRAQ HAS THE MARKET ON THAT PARTICULAR SUBSTANCE. IN ESSENCE, PHOSPHORUS WILL BE THEIR MOST IMPORTANT EXPORT BECAUSE THEY PRETTY MUCH OWN THE MONOPOLY OF IT. THIS IN ITSELF SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO MOVE TO ART 8. THEY HAVE A COMMODITY THE WORLD NEEDS. JMHO.

This article was written by mailman with no confirmed source link so this article will be moved to rumors until someone can confirm it ! Sorry guys

I thought I read where they also have large amounts of sulphur. (sp?)

The two elements are very close in the atomic number chart 15, & 16

The first form of elemental phosphorus to be produced (white phosphorus, in 1669) emits a faint glow upon exposure to oxygen – hence its name given from Greek mythology, Φωσφόρος meaning "light-bearer" (Latin Lucifer), referring to the "Morning Star", the planet Venus. The term "phosphorescence", meaning glow after illumination, originally derives from this property of phosphorus,
