HOW Did My DV Gallery Photos Get on MY FACEBOOK Profile?!?!?!

Haven't been on FaceBook for about a year.... at least 8 months. Every time I leave FaceBook (FB) I sign out... every time without exception....

 

I went in to FB yesterday to check on our annual summer get together dates and gatherings. Imagine my surprise to find ALL of my DV gallery pictures on MY FaceBook (FB) profile right there in living color on my timeline among my other photos. 

 

In case you miss the significance of this.... My name on DV is Rayzur. Rayzur is not my legal name. The photos on my DV gallery do not have my legal name attached to them in any way.. They are not photos I have  shared with other sites. They are ONLY posted on DV. And  my legal name is somewhat unusual, and is not the shorthand version I use on many sites as my name when registering. Yet FB somehow figured it out and connected the two!

 

 

How in the Sam Hill does the internet woo woo connect the name Rayzur on DV profile with my legal name on FaceBook ?!?!?!?! And then after connecting these two names, transfer ALL of my DV gallery pictures to my FB account page for one and all to see in living color. It is NOT something I did. It IS something the internet did.... HOW did they do it?!?!?! How does that happen? Does anyone know?

 

I like to keep my private life and internet life separate. I can tell all my DV colleagues I played spook in Central America, cause you don't know me, makes no difference to you, and you won't be connecting it to me as a real person..... HOWEVER when  your sister-in-law comments "thought you said you weren't doing "that stuff" anymore".... and everyone recognizes me despite the blurred out face (for DV gallery), ... well lets just say the internet connected some dots I would have preferred stay disconnected.... 

 

To be clear, the people who know me, did not see anything they didn't know.... and only a handful likely connected me to present day work... and that's not the issue... 

 

The issue, the question is.... how does the internet connect the name Rayzur from DV with my legal name on FB, and having done so, transfer the photos from the DV gallery to my FB page?!?!? Does anyone know?

Rayzur, ask Farwould - he seems to have a good understanding of how everything works. My best guess would be if you have a smartphone and uploaded the pictures to DV from your phone. Not sure but I think I got a request from facebook the first time I uploaded a pic from my phone for them to upload all of the pics in my phone gallery. My default option is always NO when I get requests like that. But, I almost said yes before I read the full message.

You wouldn't by chance have uploaded your photos here through Flickr, did you?

 

This sis aknown issue--they automatically upload your photos to FB--no matter where you posted them to or from.

 

Unless you uncheck a small little box

I do have a FB account-- but I have all the security settings on "high" [my public profile is non-existant]--even then I don't trust any internet site, so the information I post or choose to share is limited.

 

I hope the sharing of your photos isn't the only thing that was compromised

Your IP address is linked to this clipboard and your email address facebook employs

a massive search engine and spam ad generator that pics up on every post you make

is a picture of a gear click it and go to privacy settings then look on the left hand side

and their are all the options to blocking and privacy settings go through all of these tags

and make your settings block most of them and your through.

facebook and other agency's its how they can track a crimminal down as well.

Web cams another no no every pic is checked by porno compuware and is stored whether its porno or not!

along with your IP address and email header config.even your hard drive has a discriptive number

look under pc information its their each is assigned a product Id.

never ever use a wireless network all I have to do is get close to your modem and bingo it will show

me who's using and whats open for use.thats free internet and if I can get your email address

it only takes me about 15 minutes to obtain your password and I can use your laptop through my pc

so use a password larger than 18 digits and then it would take me a while to get your password.

65% percent use a pets name or even worse their own initials or even their SS number.anything

under 7 digits indicates a name most of the time.I bought my scrambler from russia and made a few changes

to it and its fast!thousands of these devices are out their!

Now smart meters only know what a device is pulling in amps but if you create a account with the electric company

to view your smart meter as most are then they can gain access to anything on your pc.

Ive taken apart a smart meter and it has a transfer tcip and its done wirelessly to cell towers

via tpip in other words a small microchip that transfers whatever info they want from you.

once this meter was opened it alerted the electric company and shuts itself down.once plugged back

in of course.Nasty device for spying.Myself I will never own a cell phone of any type they are the easiest

to hack and keep track of you via GPS even if you turn that function off the gov tells the phone provider

to turn it back on when they want it.

Wow, this is turning out to be very educational.... thank you everyone for your thoughts and answers... And your right TG Farwould has it totally dialed in.... Thanks Farwould!!! You rock and gave very helpful info as to how to possibly fix the issue. Interestingly, not all the photos on my computer are on the FB page.... Just the DV photos showed up... That's what was so odd.... 

To answer some of the thoughtful questions... (in effort to continue tracking this .... its just soooo darn curious and interesting at this point... especially so cause it connected the photos to my legal name and not the anagram name I usually use.... )

 

Machine: No to the email.... I've a dedicated email I use for FB and nothing else

 

TG (Texas Granny): Spot on with Farwould thanks! No regarding the uploading from my phone. All of them went from my camera (underwater especially lol ) into my computer and then uploaded

 

GZam: I don't use an IP scrambler with DV. I DO use a 'scrambler' with Facebook. I don't see how the two could have been linked as the does not show accurately when 'scrambled'.

 

Freckled Fuzz: No did not use Flicker.... and very good to know this is what happens if one does use Flickr. Good point on the what else might be compromised.... maybe need to dedicate a computer to sensitive info  (banking etc), and another for social chatting like on forums and info sites...

 

Sentinel7:I'm with ya on surprised as to what people put on their FB page..... which is why I was so surprised that stuff I didn't specifically put on my FB page, ended up there. I don't ever ever use a cloud, my camera is blocked, though do have restricted router and had came home to an installed Smart Meter (no one asked if they could come into my locked yard, enclosed/surrounded by an 8 ft fence all the way around.. still don't know how they got in).

 

Waterman: I hear ya. My FB page is essentially exclusively what other people put on the page (very close to my kids, sibs, their kids, and parents, and mostly follow them and my band of buddies). Dont think I have ever posted anything on it myself... which is why I was so surprised to see stuff from my computer that I did not post there. 

 

PG  (Farwould):  Your help is invaluable.. thanks so much!! A question, are you saying there is a clipboard on DV somewhere by which I have allowed access? If so, I need to find it and close that..... OR were you saying it all in the FB settings? And BTW I am NOT a member of any of the FB games or apps, or whatever the flip people sign up for. I noticed early on that joining things like that Farm program/game, opened you up to putting your name all over the internet... A lot of those apps look like they essentially blast you into internet space for everyone to pick up your name. I'll go in and check out FB settings tonight.. and thanks! And btw, if it comes down to it, in my case I would suggest osi versus the jag to have it taken down. Though I don't think there is a compromise in terms of national ... and more so is an issue of not always keeping family/ peeps in the loop as far as my definition of a vacation.... lol lol 

 

JButch: So are you saying it took a photo from your computer that you never ever posted anywhere including DV....Not THAT is freaky. 

 

PG I just read your second post. LOTS of great info in there. Are you saying if I partition my HD (used to do that all the time in the old days) and I thereafter store all the info on that second partition, that the info is secure in terms of availability for grabbing? As far as passwords go... mine is 28 random characters and so frickin complicated and long, it takes me all day to connect a new computer.  I would love to see if you could hack it in testing the security of it... Maybe we can do that offline from here... That would be fun... (BTW halo looks like old DOS  code. you have to download halo before you can code that in yes? Its a shame that GUI's have all but devoured DOS) . And NO you don't get to trade your soul to the devil.. Kind offer, and not yours to do my friend. Oh and I built a far in the far place using seasoned would last night in your honor..... 

 

Thanks everyone for the great info and ideas.... I want to stay on this till I figure it out, and it helped to rule out some of the potentials breach.... And sure I could take down the FB account... yet at this point, I want to see if I can follow the dots as they connect...
