Military told not to read Obama-scandal news Verizon phone records story off-limits to airmen

President Obama has said the outrage over the federal government’s decision to monitor citizens’ phone activity is all “hype.

He might want to share his opinion with the U.S. Air Force, which is ordering members of the service not to look at news stories about it.

WND has received an unclassified NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) that warns airmen not to look at news stories related to the data-mining scandal.

Want to know how and why America has so rapidly come to resemble the totalitarian society described by novelist George Orwell in “1984,” one characterized by universal surveillance? It’s all exposed in a special issue of Whistleblower magazine – titled “ONE NATION UNDER SURVEILLANCE: Big Brother is watching in ways Orwell never dreamed.”

The notice applies to users of the Air Force NIPRNET (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network), which is the only way that many troops stationed overseas and on bases in the U.S. are able to access the Internet.

The last line of the executive summary states:

“Users are not to use AF NIPRNET systems to access the Verizon phone records collection and other related news stories because the action could constitute a Classified Message Incident.”

Cindy McGee, the mother of an airman stationed in the UAE, spoke with WND.

“The fact that our government is attempting to censor our service members from the truth of what is happening here at home is truly frightening and disheartening,” said McGee.

Her son received the same notice.

McGee continued, “I am outraged that our government is attempting to censor the information from our military that every citizen in this country is potentially being targeted by our government in a massive overreach of their constitutional powers by unconstitutional surveillance of all Americans and storage of that data.”

There have been a multitude of reports already on the latest exploding scandal of the Obama administration.

Last Wednesday, the Guardian broke the news of the top-secret court order requiring Verizon to hand over all of its call data on an ongoing basis to the National Security Agency.

On Friday, the Washington Post reported that the NSA and FBI are gathering data from the servers of nine U.S. Internet companies.

Then reports came out that there are 50 companies from which the government is collecting data.

During a press conference, the president dismissed what he called “hype” over the surveillance programs.

But concern over this broad surveillance is causing legislators to look into what they can do to enable more oversight of these operations.

The latest news detailing how the government keeps track of this massive amount of data and its origins was posted by the Guardian, for everyone in the world to read, except members of the Air Force.

Post me conversation with actual service member confirming this and not some sleazebag! Then I will believe you. I was a Marine for ten years and never ever were we told what to read or what to decide for ourselves what was BS and what was not and frankly this smells like BS !!!!!

They took away their right to vote by not allowing them to get their ballots overseas in time,

then said they would not count those ballots anyway....

They carved away their families benefits until now they're all on food stamps...

They delay and deny medical attention and benefits to deserving soldiers...

They ignore the poisoning of military personnel from filthy, contaminated water, deny responsibility for its effects on them and delay correcting the problem (..."uh, we need more studies...")

They make them report their own gun ownership so they can deny them the right to bear same if they come home from overseas and say they have trouble sleeping at night....

They deny them benefits and pay after being shot by one of their own at a base in Texas whilst the criminal terrorists receives ALL his benefits....

They cut essential food programs, proper equipment and technology for our Military whilst they play golf and their wife and kids traipse all around the world with hordes of hangers-on at our expense and throw pricey, lavish parties....

They are told to grin & bear the rights of others to protest and disrupt their fellow fallen Bothers'' funerals...

They are ordered not to read books by Hannity & O'Reilly - even on their own time....

Now they are denying them their right to keep up with the news of the day...

We are sick and tired of this administration's blatant hacking away at our Rights & Constitution.

This is so full of Obama dog Kaka...during the Clinton and Lewinski affair, NOT ONE command was ever given to any service branch to not read in to the sexual scandal by Billy Bob. Now this Muslim imposter would dare tell the Military that any news about his CORRUPTIONS are off-limits to their knowledge. Give me a break, the very first ones reading Obama's Lies, Corruptions, Treasons etc... are the Commending Generals of every branch.

MUSLIM OBAMA HAS BEEN PLANTED IN THE WHITE HOUSE BY MUSLIM LEADERS FROM SAUDI ARABIA...ALL THIS CONNECTED TO THE PROGRESSIVE/COMMUNIST DEMONCRATS AND LIBERALS! DENIERS WILL LET THE COCK CROW THREE TIMES ON THIS AS WELL.

Most Americans would be surprised at the insidious level of influence the Saudis have achieved.  I won't doubt Saudi implication until further research tells me otherwise.

VERY suspect article!  NOTAMs are used to communicate flight and terminal information to pilots/aircrew.  They are NOT used to generally communicate with line AF personnel.  I retired just 5 years ago, after serving 26 years in the AF.  Part of my job was to post NOTAMs.  Definitely need more info before getting outraged over this article.

Exactly.  I was in charge of our live fire ranges for a number of years, and posted NOTAMs whenever we had hot ranges.  They are used by the FAA and across all services to announce flight hazards and no fly zones. Has absolutely NOTHING to do with actually sending a policy out to the Air Force.

Shabs I'm so tired of this but this is just the beginning of a power struggle that is unprecedented in this country. Its not all Obama, its the ideology. The fundamental transformation of America will fail miserably. The democrats and half of the republicans that support socialism are making a huge mistake. These idiots actually think they are Monarchs and we are peasant servants. Its unbelievable that we put these people in office and pay their salaries along with everything else in this country and they act this way! Then you have the media that supports this. I hate to say this but I see extreme violence in the future because people have had enough of this. All these scandals are no coincidence. This government has overstepped its bounds so badly its insane. The NSA guy that stepped up and blew the whistle is a prime example of how fed up people are getting. It's like cornering a wild animal. Eventually the wild animal will fight. That's how I see this playing out, but I hope I'm wrong.
