Baghdad / Baghdadi news / Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, on Thursday, that the issue of reparations imposed on Iraq for the State of Kuwait is the only one which is still under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations Iraq and بانتهائه come out of the pain of this chapter




 


Zebari said at a news conference today attended / Baghdadi News / "The Iraqi delegation in his recent visit to Kuwait signed two memoranda of understanding especially installs marks the border between the two countries and co-financing for the construction of a residential complex for Mtdharan re-demarcation of the border, adding that the recent negotiations on the humanitarian issue for prisoners and missing persons and property and the Kuwaiti Archive concluded that he was transferred from Chapter VII to Chapter VI leaving only the file of compensation.


Zebari said that Iraq pay one and forty billion dollars compensation to Kuwait within leaving only eleven billion, which is deducted from the Iraqi oil and will expire at the end of the year two thousand and fifteen and Iraq will be then free of the provisions of Chapter VII.


With regard to Iraq's position on the Syrian crisis new Zebari confirm Iraq's position on a political solution to the crisis, stressing that Iraq has a genuine interest in supporting the political efforts, including the Geneva conference, and focused Zebari said at the conference that Iraq is not with the axis against another, but rather stand with the interests of the Syrian people and the Iraqi people without impose agendas or solutions to the Syrians. Finished / 21 Q

So are they moved to chapter VI, or still in chapter VII until 2015? Great news, but I got confused.

What going  on :eyebrows: IMO this keep's Iraq in check till 2015, the monies owes to Kuwait will go threw the IMF when deposit are received threw oil sales and be paid to Kuwait.. to prevent failure and still have some control of the actions of Iraq...simple term you been on restriction you can now go out and play but you have to do it this way.... :eyebrows: Which is Great News for everybody...

in 2005 i was told the dinar would rv  to 31 cents  in 2016.. and oil  production would be 12 million barrels a day ... obama will screw that up....most likely already has . ..i think biden is working on his idea of iraq ,, devide it up in three countrys .

 

if iraq turned out to be a huge success the democrats would look stupid .. so they work diligently to screw iraq up .. its the democrat way

Iraq pays 5 percent of the total oil revenues to Kuwait under the compensation established by the United Nations for the damage to Kuwait due to the Iraqi invasion of August / August 1990 to February 1991.

2015 will be 25 years  since 1990 .. a nice round number  of  sanctions for a country that invades another .. 25 year sentence .. maybe good behaviour would get an early release ..like parole ..

I think Yota's right on this one - 2015 refers to the program the remaining money to be paid will be under - not that Iraq will be under Chap 7 that long.

IMO Sounds like they are going to be paying with Oil profits, and that the full amount will be paid back , in oil funds, by the end of 2015.  Only then will they be free of Chapter 7.
