Wow I saw this in my  local online paper this morning. This happened 20 minutes from my side of town. The word is definately out about these dinar's because they are being stolen. I know everybody who has been here for years knows to keep under lock and key. I don't have that much invested like this unfortunate guy but I'd be pretty pissed to loose that much Dinar. Ouch . The link is with this story . I think you have to get a subscription to read the full story though.

Those were my same thoughts. The minute I purchased mine 5 years ago I put them in my safe and every now and then mostly when the news gets hot maybe once a year I open the safe and check them. Nobody even knows I own them. This guy obviously told his whole family and friends he owned them and probably mentioned all the good news that was going on with it.

Safety Deposit Box. How can someone be so careless with that kinda Dinar in their home.

I have no idea why anyone would take it....I have 5 Million worth posted on the wall of my Cell here and the Guards don't ask a word. I'm out in 2 years and they just think it's play money. I told them how the kids sent it and it is just play Money. Nobody wants it and Happy Easter....Have to go back in the Kitchen and dip eggs for the others, believe it or not there are alot that still believe in the Easter Bunny!!!! Do you know there are alot that still believe in Santa???? Bye

I use to trust the Bank also. Then I had to pay over $200 to get my stored valuables back after Citi Bank moved my box without notifying me.  They were getting set to send it to the government.  Check your box often.

And since none of the items in the box are documented what is going to stop someone from outright stealing the Dinars? Depending on the level of corruption in the Bank.

Look what's happening in Cyprus. You might get your box confiscated someday because the governments refuse to reduce their spending.

Hey jeepguy, in the 1930's it was very common for the U.S. government to raid seaf deposit boxes.

It was illegal to own foreign currency. U.S. marshals raided my uncle's box  and took his Canadian

and British money. They came to his house with a john-doe warrant and took several thousand

dollars in gold coin. My dad had a $50 gold piece. He was saving to buy a refridgerator. Federal

marshals came to our house on Sunday and told my dad he had three days to cash it in, or they

would come take it. The bank gave him $17.50 for it. It was 1/2 oz of gold and now worth $35/oz.

I grew up Thinking Bastard was Roosevelt's first name.
