"...Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, who won presidential elections last month (February 2013) replacing a communist administration accused of running the economy to the ground, has vowed to work for a swift bailout deal."

The previous President of Cyprus, Mr. Christofias is a devout marxist who believes in social justice, etc., etc., etc.  At one time Cyprus had one of the healthiest economies in the EU until the communists were voted in. Once in power the ole marxist ideology kicked in. For six years they spent themselves into oblivion until they had come to the end of the rope. BAILOUT TIME!!!  This is what the marxist obama is doing to our economy today.

Cyprus is another lesson for us all. However, I have little faith the Obama supporters will get it!   It must be in their genes!! :eyebrows:

Get your facts straight!. You marxist have an obvious propensity for distorting the truth!

President Barack Obama:

President OBAMA contributed the most to the debt, with cumulative deficits totaling $5.073 trillion in just four years.

President George W. Bush:

President Bush is next, racking up $3.294 trillion over two terms. He responded to the attacks on 9/11 by launching the War on Terror. This drove military spending to a new records, between $600-$800 billion a year. President Bush also responded to the 2001 recession by passing EGTRRA and JGTRRA, otherwise known as the Bush tax cuts.

President Ronald Reagan:

President Reagan added $1.412 trillion to the debt during his two terms. He fought the 1982 recession by cutting the top income tax rate from 70% to 28%, and the corporate rate from 48% to 34%. He also increased government spending by 2.5% a year. This included a 35% increase in the defense budget, and an expansion of Medicare. Although $1.412 trillion doesn't sound like a lot, compared to 2012 debt levels, in fact Reagan's economic policies doubled the debt during his Presidency.

President George H.W. Bush:

President George H.W. Bush added $1.03 trillion to the debt in one term. He responded to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait with Desert Storm. He oversaw the $125 billion bailout to end the 1989 Savings and Loan crisis. Part of his debt contribution was due to lost tax revenue from the 1991 recession.
Although many other Presidents added to the debt, none comes close to these four in terms of overall spending. Part of that is because the U.S. economy, as measured by GDP, was so much smaller for other Presidents. For example, in 1981 GDP was only $3 trillion, growing by five times to $15 trillion in 2012. See the table below for a year-by-year detail of each President's budget deficit since President Woodrow Wilson. (Updated January 31, 2013)

The problem is that republicans are basically democrats these days. they shun all conservatives. id rather a democrat win than some two faced republican like boehner. how did those back room deals work john? Im never voting again.

Republicans like kasich in ohio......pushing for an expansion of medicaid. might as well been obamas idea.

In fact give me obama......at least i know who he is. i expect it from him.......but republicans?

Does anyone know if chris christie is a democrat or republican? I cant tell

He's a guy I could certainly get behind......he seems to be a "people first"  kind of man.  He is a Republican, but does it matter?  The reason I don't register for a particular party is so I can vote the person, not the party.

some people dont have a clue what marxism is ..

setting a minimum wage is marxist .. . union wages are marxist ..  setting fines for those who dont buy  health care is facism .. there are many marxist regulations set on americas free enterprise   economy ..

democrats dont want  free markets in america . they want regulated markets .. they set up marsist  policy to hinder free enterprise in america under numerous   entities ..  and set up   zarrs to implement  and enforce those marxist policies ..

anyone who stands up for those marxists are marxists themselves .

When are you going to stop blaming others?

It is time to get over who did what in the past, we cant change it.

yes, Bus was as much a collectivist puppet as o, the only difference is we can stop o.

By comments like your you are inversly declaring we are powerless to do anything about the current spending because some jerk got away with it before.

Really? Is that your message?

Everyong just needs to grab their ankles and hop it doesn't destroy the country?

I thought you were open to honest dialogue, how can we discuss anything if anytime someone says anything about the corruption or incompetence in the current administration you act like they are either a racist, or nothing can be done because the last 60 years were nothing but incompetent globalist puppets and they were not stopped either.

When are you going to decide to live in the present and deal with the current issues?

The least you can do is to stop making posts designed to do nothing but destroy a thread just because the poster didn't make a disclaimer to reassure everyone the RINO POTUS were just as bad.

I know you are a very intelligent person, your perspective has brought new facets to discussions, and I value that.

A lot of us have brought attention to the fact the republican RINO's have cooperated in the deceptions, but it honestly does no one any good to toss a grenade into a discussion just to point that out.

We all need to stop the blood letting and let the wounds heal if we ever expect to work together to change our direction.

Please, no offense intended, and please accept my apologies for unintended pique.

Point taken divemaster.  You have not offended me in any way.  I actually agree with what you are saying.  My problem stems from the very get go of some of these threads.  They are designed to trigger a negative response, as I see it.  I too wish for proper dialogue without all of the partisan banter.  Sadly, it doesn't seem to be possible.  The title of this thread says it all......the addition of "Marxism strikes again" is not necessary in any way.  I will not sit on my hands and watch my country implode because people refuse to compromise.  It's a two-way street, as I have stated many times before.  Turning the other cheek is always a good answer.....until the stinging from being slapped is too much to bare.  As always, just my opinion.

GO RV, then BV
