Iraq parliament approves general budget for 2013

Iraqi Council of Representatives approved at its Thursday meeting, and in the presence of 168 deputies, federal budget law for fiscal year 2013, $ 138.424 trillion dinars ($ 19.1 billion).

 

Boycotted the coalition of Kurdish blocs and the Iraqi List, the vote on the budget, which was postponed 6 times because of differences between Erbil and Baghdad over dues of oil companies operating in Iraq's northern Kurdistan province.

 

A statement issued by the Information Office of the Council of Representatives, and Anatolia obtained a copy of it, that the federal budget revenues for fiscal year 2013 is estimated at 119.3 trillion dinars ($ 10.2 billion).

 

The estimated budget, according to the statement, export revenues of crude oil on the basis of the average price of $ 90 per barrel, and the rate of export of 2.9 million barrels per day, including 250 thousand barrels per day for the amount of oil produced in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. 


statement pointed out that the total estimated deficit general budget amounted to 19.127 trillion dinars (16.4 billion dollars), to be to cover the deficit of the Development Fund for Iraq, and internal and external borrowing, as well as percentage of savings is expected to increase selling prices of oil or increase production. 


acknowledged the federal budget for fiscal year 2013 accounted for 17 % of the total expenditure to the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. 


included budget allocation expenses of the security sector and defense at $ 19.7 trillion dinars (16.9 billion dollars), while the allocated $ 12.7 trillion dinars (11 billion dollars) for the education sector, have also been allocated 29.45 trillion dinars (25 billion dollars) for the energy sector.

This IS great news! How can anyone say it isnt???  This is another huge step towards what we all want!  We should all be excited to see what happens in the next few weeks!



Also.. regarding the Kurds not being there to vote.. they didnt have to be.. they got what they wanted (17% and the oil companies issue resolved) thru the deals between Barzani and Maliki. So, the few moron Kurdish MPs saying "its dangerous to vote without us".. are just that.. Morons. Gotta remember.. these ppl arent the sharpest tools in the shed..

 

Also.. the HCL is done.. thats where the 25% of oil revenues disbursed to the citizens comes in ;)

Good news to hear.

 

So many folks on this forum keep saying they are not accomplishing anything. Well for a such a bunch of bull-headed guys they did pretty good on agreeing on the budget.... so things are progressing.  Gives us hope for the rest of the year.
