msmortgagewiz
Lived in a neighborhood called Salem woods. Near ferrell pkwy and Salem rd I am on the lake of trash....You will know what I am referring to. Well, alot has changed S.Plaza and Rosemont now goes all the way to Ferrell and beyond, close to Chesapeake border. Verizon Virginia Beach Amphitheater would be in your old backyard. Here is their line up http://virginiabeachamphitheatre.net/?gclid=CN_2tvTIs7UCFQhxQgodpC4AlQ the schedule is just starting so Rush is being heavily promoted right now and additional bands will be added as the season draws closer. I went to school my last two years at VB Votech (I don't have to tell you where, your a Salem dude so you know where it's at).. My kids graduated from PA as well, and I was raised in the neighborhood behind Willis Wayside. My husband is a musician but he's from Lynchburg, back in his hayday his band opened for Thirty Eight Special at Bessie's Boat House. His best friend, also a incredible guitarist now lives in Boston and builds amps for Steven Tyler. We both play instruments, he is a accomplished guitarist. I, not so much (not like him at least). One of my best friends is the lead singer for a band called "At War" they are international recording artists, you may remember them playing the beach circuit back then, like Peabody's (which by the way is still there). As far as contacts go.... yes but on a Security Level of production of these events. Now, if you ever need security for your band, we have you covered. Seriously, if you do get back to the beach shoot me a email, so I can come and see your band perform.
Elixirbaby
Good old Mount Trashmore. Use to go watch fireworks on 4th of July there. I did lighting for bands, Picture This, Executioner and The Zoo from 84 thru 89. Do you remember a band called Hooker? Scott Travis was their drummer back then and he's drumming with Judas Priest since late eighties.. I used to help out a lot doing setup and take downs at The Boat house and Hampton Coleseum. Small world.

Small world. Still watching them every 4th. We all gather at our house and walk down the street with a big blanket and pick the perfect spot.. Heck, we still sit on our roof and watch the Blue Angels fly when they are in town. You my dear are about 10 years my Junior, so that would be my little sister that might recall however Picture This does sound like a band that might have been at Peabody's or 17th Street Cafe where I waitressed when the kids were small. You should google earth the area and see just how much it has changed. I was born here so I don't know any other place. It's my dream though to go see a Austin City Limits Show. Boat House ~ I have a close friend that started in the security field at the Boat House, now he is the director of security for all the local big venues. Yes, it is a small world.
