Please remember to not "assume" anything - this is pretty foreign to me and I have wanted to learn / know since the beginning of getting into the investment but did not have a teacher - I do not want to be a scholar ok so keep it simple

The lower ( in number) the IQD gets Vs. the dollar, the higher its value ( like 500 IS better than 1166, 300 better than 500, 50 better than 300 and so on.....)

It's semantics taken out of context.

Speaking strictly numerical order, 1166 is higher than 500, but saying a "value" ratio of 1166 to 1 is "higher" than one of 500 to 1 is technically incorrect speaking in context or terms of value, again, semantics.

If you want the value based on currency exchange to be higher or of greater value, you would choose the "lower" number in the ratios, that being 500 to 1.

Neither of you were wrong, dontlop was just arguing the semantics of it while you were basing your argument on the contextual importance of the value seen in the ratio and potential exchange.

The current rate is 1166 IQD per 1 USD. the "per" is division so its really

1166 IQD / 1 USD = 1166/1 IQD/USD = 1166 IQD/USD. To get it the other way around just invert it all.

If you want USD/IQD, that is 1USD / 1166 IQD = 1/1166 USD/IQD = 0.00085763 USD/IQD .

If the rate was $5.25 USD per 1 IQD (you must be joking right?) again divide to get it the other way.

1 IQD / 5.25 USD = 1/5.25 IQD/USD = 0.1905 IQD / USD
