Real Bank Intel

Yesterday I was oot and aboot just doin' errands and just in general driving around town and whatnot when I happened to visit a certain bank that I frequent occasionally. I had heard (from the rumors online and special sources) that I should check in with a personal wealth manager or banker to see how the dinar rates were doing at that moment and when the R.v. should arrive.

The bankster told me that they were waiting for the arrival of the electronic international currency exchange rate transmission (EICERT), which sometimes is slow for political reasons. And obviously, as I shouldn't have to tell you all, the bank knows exactly how much dinar I have.

Well, the bank guy said it looked like a LOP was in fact what was going to happen, as he could see the removal of he three zeroes as I was sitting there with him. He swiveled his screen so I could look at it. I indeed saw 0.9 next to the IQD which had (IQn) next to it (a transitional symbol?!).

I sighed and told him I wanted to buy another 1mill in hopes it would at least triple in value. Does anyone else have any info to back up my experience and verify a LOP is or isn't in the works? The same banker had told me a six dollar rate a few weeks ago, so disappointing...

Thanks everyone.

Doubt it would be called IQn. Thats the abbreviation for the Iraqi Navy.

Code formation

The first two letters of the code are the two letters of ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes (which are also used as the basis for national top-level domains on the Internet) and the third is usually the initial of the currency itself. So Japan's currency code is JPY—JP for Japan and Y for yen. This eliminates the problem caused by the names dollar, franc and pound being used in dozens of different countries, each having significantly differing values. Also, if a currency is revalued, the currency code's last letter is changed to distinguish it from the old currency. In some cases, the third letter is the initial for "new" in that country's language, to distinguish it from an older currency that was revalued; the code sometimes outlasts the usage of the term "new" itself (for example, the code for the Mexican peso is MXN).

Yup, so IQn it may indeed be. But if the bankster said it was gonna LOP, I have a bad feeling it might be true. Stupid, evil holiday-operating bank personnel...
