What are bonus and paid up shares?

they are profit sharing opportunities made available to stockholders of a particular stock by the company. for instance Bank of Baghdad (ticker BBOB and trading at $1.85 iqd) might offer 50% paid up shares and 20% bonus shares for a particular year. this means that a 20% increase is added to the stock held and 50% is made available, if i choose to participate, at a discounted rate of $1 iqd per share. instant profit!

yes. eventually all brokerage firms will receive shares due. i saw other posting (on an alternate site) where investors received their shares weeks ago. it appears as if brokers do not get the bonus' all at the same time.
