Netanyahu's familiar farce

Thursday 15 November 2012

Another Israeli election looms and, almost inevitably, the Benjamin Netanyahu government assassinates a Palestinian leader and unleashes a deadly bombardment of Gaza, slaughtering non-combatants including children.

Equally inevitably, Palestinian resistance groups resort to rocket fire that has killed three civilians.

Netanyahu is in his electoral element, both threatening the Palestinians that he is ready to escalate the conflict and also tugging the heartstrings by implying that Israel is under existential threat.

This familiar farce is played out every time an Israeli election is pending or international condemnation of zionism's colonisation of the West Bank grows more acute.

Israeli leaders of whatever party have no compunction about treating Palestinian and Israeli lives as pawns in their game of ethnic cleansing to control the entire territory of historical Palestine from the Mediterranean to the Jordan river.

----

Cabinet minister Avi Dichter had the temerity to blame victims for their own deaths, saying that the three Israeli citizens would have been alive "if they had just followed instructions."

Israel's cynical and ruthless elite can rely on its allies in Washington and the European Union member states piling in on zionism's side, condemning the Palestinian victim while comforting the Israeli oppressor.

We have had the usual weasel words from "gravely concerned" William Hague who sympathises with the "intolerable situation for Israeli civilians in southern Israel" but omits any mention of Tel Aviv's ongoing colonisation of the West Bank and its armed blockade of Gaza.

Apart from Western politicians, the global media also plays its role by repeating ad nauseam that it was an anti-tank rocket fired at an Israeli military vehicle that sparked the latest conflict.

But there is little mention of Israeli troops shooting dead a young Palestinian with learning difficulties on November 5 or the incursion by Israeli tanks and bulldozers into Gaza three days later, killing a 13-year-old boy.

For Western politicians and media nothing can interfere with the notion of Palestinians provoking the Israeli army until the patience of its commanders snaps and it is "forced" to wade through Palestinian blood.

----

Similarly it is reported as fact that Israel does "everything in its power" to avoid civilian casualties - apart from ending the bombardment from air, land and sea.

Israel's brave minority of citizens who reject both the ongoing expansion of the state's borders and constant war as an instrument of government policy are protesting openly in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem.

Hadash, the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality, and others are demanding an immediate ceasefire and genuine negotiations with the Palestinians to achieve a two-state outcome.

The aim of the zionist leadership is to create facts on the ground - settlements, military camps and Israeli-only roads - that render such an outcome impossible, forcing Palestinians to join the millions of existing refugees or remain in their homeland as a defeated, dispossessed and disenfranchised minority.

That is clearly acceptable to British and EU political leaders no matter how much they chatter about a negotiated end result.

As Ramzy Baroud wrote in our paper this week, the EU pays lip service to a just solution, but its deeds belie its words.

It collaborates consistently with colonisation of the West Bank and rewards Israeli intransigence with a succession of favourable trade agreements.

Supporters of Palestinian national rights should support demonstrations being called throughout Britain and demand a change of direction from elected politicians.

That's a good idea! Do you want one too???

Yeah Markinsa! :twothumbs::tiphat::bravo:

P.S. I get so frustrated from reading the garbage these blind liberals spew when I am so concerned about our Brave, Loyal, Courageous Men and Women in the Uniform of our country who are in harms way (my very own children, grandchildren, relatives and friends) and the blind liberals get to sound off their garbage while their right to do it is being protected by the lives of our true Patriots. What is wrong with this picture? Lets ship them out to the countries they want to apologize to and see how long they get to live for their screwed up thinking.

I would be honored, but only if I can address you as mein Fuhrer. tongue.gif

Look at my profile, I'm a Christian, I don't make any apologies for that, and I've never given anyone ANY reason to believe that I was a Nazi. Look at my profile and at my tag line, I stand for Jesus. Actually, I'm at loss as to how you can make that statement. I was sure your IQ is higher than that.

Roth's post is way off base. The members that have been around here for some time understand your faith, and respect your beliefs even if we differ in our spiritual lives.

Be well Mark!

Whatever Markinsa. You come on to Umbertino's post and call the opinion communist crap because there was a link somewhere. The opinion has nothing to do with communism. I've seen in another thread how you gave out a swastika because someone strongly opposed Israel BS. Now you pull out the Jesus card because I ask to call you mein Fuhrer if you give me a communist flag. Why don't you argue ideas instead of labeling people and putting their opinions in little boxes.

Socialist, Communist whatever, why would the Morning Star Website promote these Communist, Socialist, and Progressive links, unless it leans or supports those views, thus my "communist crap" comment.

I offered a swastika for anyone that wanted one, and everyone that thought I was talking about them yelped when the rock hit them. I interpreted your "mein Fuhrer" comment, as you calling me a Nazi; was that supposed to be because I wanted to hand out the swastikas? If so, how clever! I mean really, you should know I'm not a Nazi. Also, in my defense, the "Jesus Card", I pulled out is always sitting on my profile, so it's BEEN OUT for everyone to see. Communications on here would be alot better if people would put on their profiles what they believe. You know, Christian, Atheist, Republican, Democratic, Liberal, Communist, JEW HATER, feel free to pick the ones that apply to you. Really, it would make it much easier for us to know which post to ignore.

The Bible tells me I'm supposed to love those who persecute me, but sometimes you guys make it really hard to do that, but I'm trying and praying for you.

it boils down to anti-Israeli propaganda, doesn't matter the source, although islamic and/or satanic in nature.

I doubt anyone here is a Jew hater. I can't stand Israeli policy but that in no way makes me a "JEW HATER."

Well, that opinion will bring peace to the world! I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit after reading that.

yes you are, you promote anti-Israeli propaganda and lies. You Ignore the facts and blame Israel.

I am so sick of Israeli war-mongering. I wish they would just take a back seat and stop causing so much trouble in the Middle East. They do everything BUT promote peace.

Well, that opinion will bring peace to the world! I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit after reading that.

You should have, after realizing what you have been supporting. Did you swallow it back down?

This is for those of you who are educated enough to see reality for what it has been and still is.

All the hateful and misaligned people in this world can bury your head to the facts. HISTORY does repeat itself and blaming one of the smallest nations on earth and not seeing all it contributes to the world, let alone the USA is sad.

You may not agree with HISTORY or this link, but I do... Some will even boldy say WW!! was fabricated by the jews and they were not killed...

Peace and watch this little video>>> (below)
