Baghdad (AIN) -The rappateur of the Parliamentary Economy Committee, Mahma Khalil, described the resolution of canceling the Ration Card as a targeting to the efforts of his committee which completed all measures to improve the Ration Card's food items.

Khalil told AIN that "The decision of canceling the Ration Card is a very hasty step where it did not give us a chance to complete the strategic plan which was adopted by the Economy Committee to address the foot-dragging of providing the food materials of the RC."

"The Committee conducted surveys which revealed that 95% of the Iraqis prefer to keep on the Ration Card despite the tarry in providing its food items but it remains a necessary thing that meets the needs of the poor people," he added.

It is worth mentioning that the Spokesperson of the Iraqi Government, Ali al-Dabbagh, has announced that the Council of Ministers decided to replace the Ration Card with financial grants to be distributed on citizens starting from 1st, March, 2013. /End/

Ah...they just HAD to monkey around with Shabibi's carefully crafted economic policies, and now they are ticking off the very people who stand to benefit the most. I WANT to say "Raise hell and throw the bums out!" but then...I look at our own recent election. Who are we to talk?

Why are we humans so hesitant to stand up for change? Where is the gene for slavery? Why are people so willing to relinquish control of their lives to a government/religion/family/region/language/etc. etc. etc. ??? Does slavery in humans equate to domestication in animals?

We will suffer pain, ignorance, starvation, murder, disarmament...all manner of atrocities - complain about it mightily...and do nothing about it.
