Barone: Romney Will Win 315 Electoral Votes

Michael Barone, the seasoned precinct-by-precinct analyst who has anchored Fox News election coverage for years, has made a bold prediction: not only will Mitt Romney win the presidency on Tuesday, he will win it in a landslide. Barone says that Romney will win Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia, of course. But then he calls the following states for Romney:

  • Ohio: “The anti-Romney auto bailout ads have Obama running well enough among blue-collar voters for him to lead most polls. But many polls anticipate a more Democratic electorate than in 2008. Early voting tells another story, and so does the registration decline in Cleveland's Cuyahoga County. In 2004, intensity among rural, small -town and evangelical voters, undetected by political reporters who don't mix in such circles, produced a narrow Bush victory. I see that happening again.”
  • Iowa: “The unexpected Romney endorsements by the Des Moines Register and three other newspapers gave voice to buyer's remorse in a state Obama carried by 10 points. Democrats' traditional margin in early voting has declined.”
  • New Hampshire: “Polls are very tight here. I think superior Republican intensity will prevail.”
  • Wisconsin: “Recent polling is discouraging for Republicans. But Gov. Scott Walker handily survived the recall effort in June with a great organizational push. Democrats depend heavily on margins in inner-city Milwaukee (population down) and the Madison university community. But early voting is down in university towns in other states. The Obama campaign is prepared to turn out a big student vote, but you don't see many Obama signs on campuses.”

Barone says that Michigan, Nevada, and Minnesota will all go for Obama. But all in all, Romney will win 315 electoral votes.

I never count my chickens before they hatch nor do i listen to those off air commentators. I will wait for Nov 6, now the big question is where are those RP folks and will they write him in?

That is the 64 dollar question.

Some will, most will probably protest by staying home

since no other issue on their ballot matters

Im working on a friend right now....He's convinced to

vote conservative the whole ballot, except for Prez....but

he's wavering....I'm hoping to have him in the Romney

column soon.....He's from Wisconsin, and I need that State

to break Republican this year....I've got some money

on it....so :D

I'm pretty much aware, the possibility of the US hitting a Fiscal Cliff in the near future. I'm pretty much aware of the last four years of spending will have to continue because of the Fiat currency system we live UNDER. There are many smarter people than me, that have forseen that Obama/the US would have to be twice as much in debt leaving office as when he took office. That's a given, just because that's the way we prevent contraction in a Fiat economy. Now, our economy appears to be in contraction no matter what the government spends and this will indirectly lead us over that Cliff. From Obama's, last four years and bad Business Decisions should I say ie...Solyndra and others, made me realize he is a community oraganizer and not to keen on making good business decisions, let alone running a Country like the USA. Once we go over that Fiscal Cliff, in which we will, I would rather have a God fearing, Business Savy, president at the helm to recover from such an event. I'm not afraid to work hard. No one ever gave me a dime that I did not earn without paying them back, except for a friend of mine in the 70's and it was a gift. I am a single mom putting two kids through college and I thank God he has given me the resources so far to do so. I believe, no one should get money for nothing. That philosophy alone has been the destruction of our country. If we as a nation are going to pull out of the tailspin we are in. I pick Romney someone who has the experience and work ethic to pull us through, not a community organizer who became president because he needed a vacation!

I can not for the life of me understand why people think its a BAD thing for some one to know how to conduct business and make a profit. Are all of the choices one has to make in order to do that always pleasant? No... but you have to know how to make those tough choices some times. You can't always make choices that makes every one feel warm a fuzzy inside. But the problem we have here is a president who is blatantly after his own agenda and most of the media and Hollywood are too interested in being 'PC" to even see it, or if they do, they are too chicken poop to say anything about it.

Here is the bottom line, when this president who claimed to have Christian values (whether you agree with them or not ), stood up during a State of the Union address and declared that Israel should return to the boarders of 1964, he showed his true colors. Even if you are not a believer yourself, this proves that he isn't and therefor is a liar. That's all I needed to know about him at that point. Nothing else he claims can be trusted. I understand if others don't understand my line of thinking but that is how I see it. To get elected he tried to place himself in that spectrum so x amount of voters would vote for him, and it was nothing but a sham.

If you can not be honest about your core values, what else will you lie about just to make people happy.

I'm not saying Mitt hasn't had his share, but not about his core faith, he knows there is a good number of people who won't like his belief but he hasn't lied about it, most likely because he hasn't had to.

Well Hiney, your ignorance surely shows on this one. Your small minded assessment of Romney shows how shallow your little brain really is. Just FYI, he also bought many companies and SAVED them from going under. Some are not worth saving and you don't have the brain capacity to understand that business, so I'll save myself the aggravation of trying to educate you, because you're too ignorant to learn anything. Money in the Caymans? Do some research. He's not the only one with a bank account in the Caymans. Just another "Class Envy" talking point. Another ignorant point not worth discussion.

But keep posting, please, cause, although ignorance is usually a sad thing, I get a good laugh at your ignorance, because you actually believe you're being smart. Just Liberal talking points not worth a decent discussion.

Barone says that Michigan, Nevada, and Minnesota will all go for Obama. But all in all, Romney will win 315 electoral votes.

This guy sounds like some of those kookie gurus. 315 is an absurd estimate when Romney likely won't win anyway =/

I would really love to see/read about his track record. Is he any good or is he making up stuff to make sure he keeps the Fox News checks coming in???

How does he compare to Nate Silver who called the 2008 elections, he correctly predicted the winner of 49 of the 50 states the only state he did not call was neck and neck. And how about the 2010 midterms, in 56 of 73 races for Senate/Governor, Silver assigned a 90% probability or higher that he was correct. He got all of them right. This included some tricky races including the Feingold upset, the crowded Senate race in Florida, and the close race in PA. And as of right now has Obama winning.

Who should I believe a Fox News political pundit that pulled a prediction out where the sun don't shine?? Or should I believe Nate Silver that scientifically analyzed the polls and has a track record of over 90%???

Now thats a tough one.NOT
