SHABIBI REMOVED

I'm hanging onto mine. In fact, not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but what if an expected or unexpected consequence of the Shabibi removal is to draw Dinar back into Iraq hoping a bunch of investors sell their Dinar? Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm".

Maybe sort of like killing two birds from the same stone. No RD, and pulling in dinar.

Wow news indeed. A preemptive strike by Maliki to prevent or delay an RV????

"This is bad for Iraq's reputation," Mr. Antoine said.

I agree. It IS bad for their possible and potential future reputation, but as they stand now, how would this be bad for their current reputation, which is HORRIBLE?

I for one have always been a fan of Shabibi. Shame this has happened. On the other hand, I too had the same thought as you. Maliki stands to gain a lot of mula if an RV occurs. Personally, I feel Maliki is a big reason Shabs has not pushed the button already. Shabs is a great man who would never give a scumbag dictator ( Malarky...., never knew the guy was Irish ) the power over that kind of money. Well, whoever, or whatever it takes, I hope somebody does something to make this happen, because after 5 years of waiting, I'm about tired of this s_ _ t!!

RSS

I'm a fan of Dr. Shabibi's, as well. He is a smart and well educated man from my observation. I wouldn't count him out as the Governor of the CBI. I'm certain that the CBI and Parliament have their struggles. I doubt that Maliki has the ability to fire Dr. Shabibi or dispose of him in other ways. The UN and the world have their eyes on Iraq. Certainly, Maliki is aware of that.

This really has no merit. Any Dinars sold back are simply re-circulated back in the marketplace. If I were to sell my Dinar today it will stay in the private market....it's not going back to Iraq. I'm confused why people would think that any speculators selling their Dinar would have any bearing on the RV. What is out of the country will remain out of the country and in private circulation until the RV happens period. The only advantage would be for Iraq to draw in as many Dollars as possible within their border....simple de-dollarization which has been a hot subject matter and openly discussed. The amount of Dinar within Iraq is simply irrelevant assuming the Dollar is drawn off the street prior to an RV. It's my opinion that the GOI and CBI are making expeditious efforts to reduce the amount of Dollars on the street/in the market now. It is also my opinion that an RV is needed musch sooner than later assuming what we are hearing about the lack of confidence in the Dinar is true. The longer this sentiment remains, the more Dollars will remain in private hands in Iraq, and essentially will reduce the potential RV rate. So get the Dollars out of there!

Best to all!!

Food for thought...... What if Maliki has been wanting Shabs to get the RV done and Shabs did not want to because he knew it would make Maliki look like a hero and keep him in a position of power for years to come.... So Maliki does an end around and gets Shabs removed... Think about it!!! If Maliki has a billion dinar and the RV happens, he's one of the wealthiest men in the world AND the leader of one of the worlds emerging powers!! Think about his own individual purchasing power throughout the world! He could buy vacation islands and laugh at the poor Arab princes who have little in comparison!!

I am leaning this way as well... I heard Shabs wanted a RD/LOP and Maliki was fighting it...

AP or Reuters???? Because their bastions of unbiased reporting???? So republicans dominate Fox and talk radio..... The dems dominate CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, the NY TImes, the LA Times and so on and so in..... As a republican I readily admit that I watch Fox and that there is no doubt it's decidedly right leaning but for you people who act as if Fox is the only news outlet that has a biased slant and is therefore open for criticism and fail to criticize the vast majority of left leaning news services is on its face, intellectually dishonest!!!!

Update........ This fox article IS an AP article.....

So you watch FOX , but your viewpoint is unbiased...Everyone knows FOX is the laughing stock of the news world.

As an indep. voter, CNN, MSNBC and all the rest you mention are center, center-right to my view. So you see the problem. L and R depends on your point of view. If you are to the Right of Attila the Hun, then sure, CNN seems left. Of course. That's your point of view. - way right.

So we only argue POV here.

WHAT I am saying is, FOX is not a real news outlet - watch the film Outfoxed and you'll see.

- not objective\ very biased to the right

-they often have no sources "Some people say...." is their usual starter...

-their newscasts are really commentaries - they have mixed reporting with editorial so there is no way to tell them apart.

-Cronkite would have never joined FOX - he was a true newsman

-no real news station would mix editorial with reporting. It lowers credibility. (though I admit they all "polish the turd" and are biased to a point)

Greed is , unfortunetly, is good for OUR investment...Its what makes the world go round...

Well, if greed would jumpstart the RV, it would make my world go around . . . and that's for sure!!

But Fox is the only one that doesn't think it can pick that turd up "by the clean end." haha

Maybe you can answer as to why Fox news programs bury the others in ratings. The majority doesn't agree.

- not objective\ very biased to the right

All news outlets do this.

-their newscasts are really commentaries - they have mixed reporting with editorial so there is no way to tell them apart.

Cronkite was a liberal/socialist- he never voted conservative. I agree he was a good news presenter- after all he had a monopoly on dinner hour news.

I can usually figure out what is true on my own.

GO RV!
