Are you blind? It's your buddies speaking badly about poor people.

You guys do not realize it's not just poor people who may not have a photo id. As an example, see Kiteman's comments about his grandmother. You continue to use the same tired list of why people need an id. Why do you think its people that need government assistance?

I bet they need an ID to get a perscription...Or Medicare....Or see a doctor

Or be in a nursing home...

Well...i missed it..if it happened. being poor isnt funny. I work in a low income housing authority. i see cadillacs, avalanches, new suvs, pimp out cars with 10,000 dollars in tires and rims in the parking lot. the majority has big screen tvs, tons of electronics, game stations everywhere, and usually there kid running out in the street. dont tell me a id card is too harsh. I work in poverished places.

80% of crime goes undetected and unpunished....So multiply your numbers

by at least that much.....I would say its probably higher, because the Liberals

have been trying for years to sweep the problem under the rug.

If I lived in an area that needs no ID (Liberal) and wanted to fraudulently vote,

what I would do is look in the phone book or address' from county records....find the

people who arent registered (easy to do) go to their address, steal some mail (a bill)

Now I am that person, as far as voting goes....I dont even need the registration card

that comes in the mail to that address.

What I need is a piece of mail that has my supposed name on it. And, if that person

decides to vote with their magically arriving registration, I just have to be to the

polls before them.

In my little tri-city area of 70k people, there are 50 different places to vote....If I didnt

need an ID, I could vote in all 50 places....Or hire 5 people to vote in 10 each.

Fortunately, we've been required to have ID for a long, long time.....In areas where

there are 'less fortunate' people....They still need ID to get welfare.

Read the facts and studies didn't stop with "80% of crime goes undetected and unpunished".

I bet they need an ID to get a perscription...Or Medicare....Or see a doctor

Or be in a nursing home...

What if you're wrong or missing something Cris. Why do you pretend to know everything as a fact?

This might surprise you; I have a 104 year old aunt. No prescriptions. No nursing home.

I got an ID, I needed it for my job. So nice try....... But good work on assumptions......

However, my grandmother who's been voting in this country since 1946 does not. So you want to take away her vote?

What ever happened to the moderate middle in this country? It appears we're either whacko right wing or lefty liberal now. No more Reagan Democrats or Moderate Republicans any more. Just complete lack of respect among fellow Americans. Of course that's why Independents now out number both Republicans and Democrats. Sooner or later there will be a set of leaders emerge from this "middle" in American politics. But until that happens, we're stuck with the two sets of crapola we have now.

Where does Grandma live?...does she get perscriptions, or see a Doctor?

Got to have an ID for those things....Is she on Medicare, does she like a nice

bottle of chianti?

Btw...Im a Registered Independent....so there ya go ;)

You "bet" they do??? You're arse must be gettting pretty big, because you're pulling a lot of stuff out of it.

My grandmother has lived in the same town since 1949, the entire community knows who she is. She doesn't have to show ID at the pharmacy, since she taught the pharmacist in Sunday School. She doesn't live in a nursing home, she still has her own home. Dr? She's been going to the same doctor for over 20 years, I think they know who she is...... Even the specialists she goes to don't require it as a referal.

And for the others on here saying you need an ID for cigarettes and booze. Really...... Tell me the last time someone in their 40's or 50's were ID'd for these items.

Oh how I long for the days of moderation and acceptance in our great country......

I could easily say the same of you....But, you're proven wrong so

often, it would be silly.

Why are you so adamantly against getting an ID when its such

a simple thing to do?....And, whatever voter fraud there is, could

be curtailed.

Imo....your objections are the same as all other Liberals....Baseless. ;)

Every State will eventually require it, so go help your Auntie out

When your seen generations of low incomed people beat the system for years.....its truly sad. a 16 year girl knows that all she has to do is get pregnant and she will get her housing, child care, food, education, all paid...its sad. ive seen the cycle. not requiring id s, is just another way for people to beat the system

some really truly do their best and cant make it....then there are those who use the system as a career

Last week....Walmart requires ID to buy alcohol.....I've been voting

since the 70's so that will give you an indication of my age.

Talk about pulling stuff out of your arse....Lmao

If Grandma can do all the things you say, she can easily get an ID

Why dont you be a good Grandson and go help her out. she'll need it

eventually...I bet you're making all of this up though.

Ever got a perscription before?....New Federal guidelines make it very

difficult....A copy of ID is required and kept with the pharmacy.

I realize that I'm showing up to this party late, but will anyone care to explain to me how it's obvious hatred that republicans (and others, you know) are asking for people to show an ID to vote? I ask because I don't think the question was ever answered.

You need an ID to rent a movie from Blockbuster for cryin out loud...How is having to show an ID to vote for the President of the United States any less important?

Age aside, there are many things besides booze and cigs that a person in their 40's-50's must show their ID for:

Boarding a plane

Renting a car

Renting a hotel room

Picking up concert tickets at will call

Writing a check

Applying for a rental application

Applying for a job

All of these are much less important than a person's ability to vote-

WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE?

The only reason someone would not want to show ID, would be due to the fact they are ineligible. Period.

I don't go help her out because I live 14 hours away.....

Shop somewhere else other than walmart and you won't get ID'd.

See you can shoot holes in why she should get one and how easy it is and I can shoot holes in why she shouldn't need one. We could go round and round all day.

BTW, can you point me to the part of the Constitution that shows I have to have an ID to vote?

I bet if I suggested we require an ID and a background check for a gun purchase (another right listed in the constitution) you guys would give me a thousand reasons why you don't need one because the Constitution guarantees your right to own firearms. And I'd agree with you.

So why do I need an ID to exercise my Constitutional right to vote? Aren't there more gun related crimes in this country than there are voter fraud crimes? Shouldn't we be cracking down on that crime also?

I do need an ID and background check to buy a firearm from

you are not concerned that unlimited amount of illegal aliens and regular citizens could vote unlimited amount of times? We have fought to hard for this country to allow for any such possibility. all we are asking for is something they probably already have, an id. it totally eliminates any such issues.

Yep, from a dealer you do, but gun shows? Not so much.

So if the law read EVERY gun sale (just like every Vote) had to show ID and background check........ Second Amendent defenders would go bat sh*t crazy over that requirement as an infringment on their rights. And I'd agree.

Nope, because statistics and investigations don't show this as being an issue. It's less than 1/10th of 1% of votes that are ever even considered for voter fraud.

Do you think a person in this country is going to expose themselves to committing a felony, going to prison, and maybe being deported; to vote in our elections? Really????

The ad part of all this debate is that it is more likely to get hit by l;ightenijng then find proof of Voter Fraud, in the last 2 elections spaning 10 years there have been only 10 cases and they have been documented, that is less then .07 per state per year.

Voter fraud is made up to try to stop what happened in 2008, Obama getting elected.

If "voter fraud is made up to try to stop what happened in 2008, Obama getting elected," would you care to explain ACORN and the work of Andrew Breitbart?

Voting machines is a greater concern. That can tilt the election much more than individuals.

This issue is bigger than just voting. why is it asking for an id is now a crime? We have had terrorist acts on our homeland before. we know we have 10s of thousands crossing over every year. Why cant a cop or a polling place ask for an id?? Why allow undocumented, unidentified persons, any chance at beating or cheating the system?? It makes no sense. while there is little fraud found, how much has never been discovered. because if you didnt find out about it ...they got away with it

Sorry, was just responding to the statement that voter fraud was made up. Now that that's been put to rest... I'll work on removing your blinders.

Also, are you operating under the guise that 'if it happened, it is recorded'? Because if so, I can see this going nowhere fast.

So what about the "working poor" that are busting their butt's just to simply survive?

Take a couple hours off work, maybe risking the only job they could find, to appease the Repub's requirement's for them to vote? It's the timing of all this that bothers me. Not The ID's.

I can only vote at my precinct, not even at the county offices any more.

The working poor only need a SS# card to get a job.

Every job I've every gotten requires an ID and a Social Security card....

Due to my excessive night clubbing in my early years I've had over 40 jobs so I'm some what of an expert :)

because that is what libs, muslims, and socialists do, they cry hater as they hate. It really means that there is no good reason to support their position, and they really don't want to talk about their real reasons.
