They are getting some fairly important legislation in place and passed. These are some of the things we needed to see to fully “seal the deal." I expect Talabani back well inside the “10 day window” and secondly…it appears there is talk about a pre-meeting with Barzani (which needs to happen).

8-28-2012 Newshound Guru Kaperoni Iraq is lining everything up to invite banks and investors and participants to come into Iraq and when you see all of this line up you can clearly see that we are getting closer to the point in which they will hopefully take their currency on an international level and give it some value. This is all focused on what we believe to be the month of September.

8-28-2012 Newshound Guru SWFloridaGuy The HCL dispute is over 4 paragraphs (out of 54) in the legal clause between the federal government and the Kurdistan region that have to do with ownership and management. There are a few drafts of the oil and gas law. Last year the GOI ratified the HCL draft and submitted it to Parliament. The GOI introduced some amendments which were then reviewed by the Energy Committee. The Commission on oil and energy decided the draft law of oil and gas had constitutional violations and moved to amend the bill to reach a suitable formula that would be agreed upon between the political blocs. The NA objected and postponed it until now. Supposedly, the GOI has currently made passing the HCL and General Amnesty a top priority and for all we know it may be worked into the new reform package. This very important law is currently being addressed but still heavily debated.

They are the leading commodity and currency derivatives exchange in the ME, with electronic trading accessible from anywhere in the world. They said the IQD has attracted their attention and they are looking forward to the inclusion of the IQD (along with other currencies) into the global commodities exchange market. The IQD must be a convertible currency. This article of course does not reference the mechanisms by which they will achieve this but the fact that the IQD is on their radar as a currency that will add more "volume and value" in trades is an encouraging sign.
