BAGHDAD / JD / .. A report of an international release printed oil and gas that Iraq has the tenth largest gas reserves in the world, mostly from associated gas, stationed in the oil fields such as Rumaila, West Qurna and Zubair.

said experts report that energy has become today more than ever commodity vital to any nation seeks economic growth, prosperity and stability, where it has become a vital factor indispensable in the production of food, water, electricity and construction of infrastructure which are all meant to enhance the standard of living.

Although consensus of most international companies operating in the oil sector, such as «BBC» and «Shell» and «Exxon» on one fact, which is that oil will remain the main source of energy in the foreseeable future, but it will have to many countries seek to diversify their energy, including natural gas, which is more abundant, and the advantage Bnzafth, in addition to cost a few, in response to rising global demand for energy.

comes raw natural gas from three types of fields: oil, gas and liquids carbon condensate.

called natural gas derived from oil fields term «associated gas».

Natural gas, which comes from the fields of gas and liquids carbon condensate, which contain little of crude oil, is called «gas is associated with».

It is possible to use natural gas, as it is characterized Banavathath least of coal, and up to 65%, and the per kilowatt hour, as are emissions lower by 25% of the oil.

according to the statistics of the global data on oil and natural gas, 40% of the gas reserves in the world are in the Middle East.

Although global demand great energy and increasing pressures aimed to reduce carbon emissions, the percentage of gas wasted by combustion in Middle East still considered one of the highest in the world.

Despite that fact, one of the salient features in the region, the growth of economies and populations indicates that many countries in the Middle East will face a rise increasing demand for energy, which means resorting to import gas.

has tended many countries in the region to make efforts aimed to develop natural resources by.

has begun BP (BP) drilling operations in the field of badminton for natural gas in the Eastern Desert in Jordan near the border with Iraq.

At the United Arab Emirates, is investing «Occidental Petroleum »in the draft fort gas, which is one of the largest projects Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

as Qatar has the largest gas field in the world, where some companies such as «Exxon» and «Shell» production of liquefied natural gas and products resulting from GTL and chemical products associated gas, such as paraffin and naphtha.

According printed oil and gas, Iraq has the tenth largest natural gas reserves in the world, mostly from associated gas, stationed in the oil fields to the south of Iraq, such as Rumaila, West Qurna and Zubair.

Despite this, the This great wealth suffers from waste at the moment, it comes with oil production from these fields to generate massive amounts of this gas precious being wasted as a result of fires, which loses the state more than $ 10 million per day of natural resources.

and we have to ask: in terms of support the development of the state, what the steps taken by Iraq to take advantage of gas resources?

Iraq is looking to become one of the largest gas producers, and comes through the implementation of some projects and the conclusion of new partnerships and promising among Iraqi oil companies of national and international companies.

Among these initiatives Basra Gas Company, It is a partnership for 25 years between the South Gas Company and two Mitsubishi and Shell.

This partnership aims to collect and process and convert raw gas currently flared. Indicate this initiative that Iraq take the right path, where he works to control this source precious goal of associated gas which flows end up in favor of economic growth of the state.

Though, as a result of years of war fought by Iraq and the sanctions that suffered during decades years, but some companies, such as Basra Gas Company, still faces many challenges ahead as a result of the work environment difficult there.

For example, it is the largest of these is the rehabilitation of infrastructure such as ports, airports and roads.

Upon overcome these challenges, will to accelerate the process of development, and delivery of these projects, and open the door to new investments.

require the need to operate our government to find future investments in the gas along the state.

addition to the advantages of direct earned from behind the production and invest our resources of gas, the construction of the gas industry new and prosperity will contribute to provide jobs for the Iraqi people, thereby reducing the negative impact on both health and the environment.

Moreover, the conclusion of partnerships with major international companies such as «Shell» and «BP», reflects the commitment of Iraq to develop infrastructure sustainable and gas acquisition best practices.

It is clear that natural gas is playing a pivotal role, which urged Iraq to take bold steps aimed to become a gas supplier to reliable energy, which will put us among the largest producers of natural gas in the world, what will therefore develop the future vision of the state. / end / agencies /

Does anyone know if it is true, that America is sitting on a huge supply, but EPA ect. Refuses to let it be tapped?

EddieMac,

Here is information from The NEED Project, www.needproject.org. Note that the US produces one-fifth of the WORLD's natural gas. You have to extract it to produce it.

"Today, natural gas is produced in 32 states, but the top five states—

Texas, Wyoming, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Colorado—produce 65

percent of the total. Altogether, the U.S. produces about one-fifth of the

world’s natural gas each year."

Pretty much.

Did you do a Google search for that non-answer?

Companies are fracking for natural gas all over the country, for better or worse.

What I have learned about drilling for oil is that they are drilling only on private land. I am wondering if fracking for natural gas would be the same.

And I would vote for "better"
