Intrade has Obama at 56.7%, down from about 59%. Romney's more pointed attacks and choice of Ryan have coincided with this decline. Nevertheless, I feel (based on no research except general reading and knowledge) Obama will win. Meanwhile, an excellent case of insider trading can be brought against Paul Ryan. He had what is called "material nonpublic information" and acted upon it. Will the SEC do that? Ha-ha-ha.

Ron Paul was the strongest candidate for the nomination, but the Republicans chose to die instead, wedded to their habits of thought and their ingrained channels of power, influence and money. Paul could have hit Obama very hard by melding the negatives of deficits (and looming breaking of social promises) with useless foreign wars and spending into a positive program of reducing government spending while cutting taxes and taking steps to restructure the social programs and eliminate whole departments. He could have attacked Obama on the TSA and on the FED.

It won't be the "Paulers" fault the GOP loses. The coming loose will be the fault of the GOP for nominating the wrong candidate.

KEEP DREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which side of the fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. ...If a Democrat/Liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. If a Democrat/Liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned or regulated for everyone.

... If a Conservative is homosexual, he leads his life. If a Democrat/Liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. If a Democrat/Liberal is down and out, he wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. if a Democrat/Liberal doesn't like a talk show host, he demands that he/she be taken off the air.

If a Conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. If a Democrat/Liberal is a non-believer, he wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Conservative needs health care, he shops for it, or finds a job that provides it. If a Democrat/Liberal needs health care, he demands that the rest of us provide it.

If a Conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can reflect on it. If a Democrat/Liberal gets it, he will delete it because he's "offended".

Respectfully...Couldn't disagree more. And on the "not the Paulers fault" again (respectfully) ....couldn't disagree more. Don't misunderstand, I am a Paul supporter, but this is the hand that is dealt and needs to be played. Folding your arms and stomping your feet cause Ron Paul didn't get it is simply stubborn and is not doing anyone any good. Lesser of two evils for sure....All my best. Neg away!!!!!!!!!

If Ron Paul was going to be such a factor for the GOP ticket, then perhaps you and others who "wanted Paul" should have voted for him during the primaries. Then, Paul would be the nominee AND Obama would be beaten.

The GOP has dug their own grave this election and it is nobodies fault but their own and those who chose to vote for the "lesser of two evils." I don't mean to say this disrespectfully, but it is what it is. Just my opinion.

Not only did I vote for Ron Paul, I donated money, and helped a friend organize a "pizza party" event with about 35 people. I know it is small potatoes but I tried. Ron Paul lost. I don't like it, but it happened. I also plan on voting in November. MY point is only this, I am not going to stop trying to turn the tide even if Romney is far from ideal. Wars are rarely won in a single battle. Be well.

My apologies for the assumption. Thank you for your help spreading Paul's message.

However, people like you seem to be in the minority. Many I've spoken with say they love Paul, yet refused to vote for him during the primaries. If all had simply voted for Paul, he'd probably be the nominee. Still, why not vote for Paul and vote to make a change? The more votes a third party gets, the more exposure and momentum for the next election. We've been stuck in a two party system where both parties are essentially the same because people continually "vote for the lesser of two evils." Is this not true?

You speak of single battles, but the war you mention has been going on for a century with no change because these single battles are never fought. A war cannot be won if the first battle is never taken.

Check out Gary Johnson.

With you being a self admitted "Pauler", Johnson should match up with your beliefs much more than willard.

Paul should have been quiet on the drug issue & foreign policy.

His support for Palestine over Israel, and military cuts.

You know what, he had a really poor platform, thats what killed

his chances....The 90% didnt want him.

You're probably right about the Palestine/Israeli and Drug issue. The military issue I find interesting however. Where the common person vehemently disagrees with Paul in this respect, many of those in the military agree with him.

I freely admit I do struggle with that. and the voting for the lesser of two evils is something I wouldn't have said 4,8 or 12 years ago. My problem today is the cancer has spread to a critical level, and the only hope seems to be to cut it out, and hopefully have time to heal. Voting for Romney may only be a speed bump of sorts. FWIW, I appreciate you taking time for discussion.

Moderates and conservatives HAVE to unite to change the direction that we are currently headed. Whether or not you were a Pauler or Bachmaner, or Peryer is now irrelavant. BO has us going the wrong direction and we have to grab ahold of the rudder! Quit crying in your cheerios and pull yourself up, Man!

I appreciate your discussion as well. I agree, the state that we are in under Obama is pretty ugly and four more years might be worse, but in my opinion, when Romney/Ryan have either supported or voted for many of the things Obama has pushed (NDAA, Patriot Act extension + more, TSA, bailouts, TARP, etc.), I personally have a hard time seeing how the Romney ticket will be any different than Obama, Bush, or any other president of the last 100 years.

I'll be voting for Paul or Johnson, but more than likely Paul. May be good may be bad, I don't know. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

A neg? Really, a neg? For saying that we have to change the direction that we're headed? People 21-25 years of age who may be voting for a President for the first time have known nothing but entitlement all of their lives. Entitlements are killing us. What kind of country do you really want to leave for your children and grandchildren?

well guys, all I can say about all the bashing of one to the other the only thing left for the Obama team to do is tear down and TRY

to dismember the opponents lives as well as the families, cause he sure as "H--LL can"t run on his policys and the economy

about the only ones that will vote for him are the welfare and "nanny" people that live off the govt. doles! Why don"t the Republicans

demand that Obama show his tax returns for the last 20 years, and why he has spent over a million dollars to keep his birth right

out of the public eye, There is a real GOOD reason for that , anyway we can hope for the best, and hope enough people become informed on the IMPORTANT features like getting our country back to the way the MAJORITY of the people want it!!!

You guys are right. Paul did not kiss enough zionist arse to win. At least not as much as Romney shamelessly going to Israel and pledging to fight their wars. Jeesh, and it only cost the zionists a million dollars. Cheap date! Paul didn't have a chance when he didn't get on his knees. :D

Good question ROW....Imo, one of the only things the Fed should be doing is protecting

this Country through the Military.

We have been caught out many times, not being prepared to defend ourselves, due to

short sighted politicians cutting our defenses...Pearl Harbor stands out as one of the

glaring examples.

The interesting thing about having an overwhelming ability to strike any adversary, is that

it actually saves lives....Almost always.....Its difficult to prove a negative, if it hasnt happened

how does anyone know it wouldnt happen.

Imo, Super powers dont attack each other anymore, because of the ramifications....The Major

Nations in the world have moved towards Capitalism and working together because of our

Military.

They play our game bacause they have no choice....Without our ability, the World would be

a much more dangerous and deadly place.

Also, the amount of spending is a pittance compared to welfare spending....I just looked up

a Govt site on spending, and it looks like defense is anywhere from 17% to 21%....hard to

tell with their crazy numbers....Welfare spending is from 53% to 64%

I dont think that was the problem.

The problem is that Paul could not convince the republican voter, the common person, that his conspiracy theories and drug policies were good for America. The republican voter could not accept Dr. NO as candidate and the fact that he did not get 15% of the primary votes is the proof of that.
