Yota, once again thank you for all you do here!

You know when I first read this I thought this guy was nuts by saying this;

(Quote)

He said .. That Iraq now has a parliament, government and elections, a self-governing and do not want any neighboring country or regional interference in its internal affairs as well as we want from the Government of Iraq believes that the democratic process and freedom.

But this got me to thinking that I read somewhere that stated Britain was responsible for Chapter VII and the US was responsible for getting the Iraq economy going so what if he is right. So let's say they also let them RV their currency because of their inflationary problems and then when they really screw up because Maliki is a modern day dictator the US and NATO can come back in and take them back over or help them solve their political problems once in for all.

...JUST A THOUGHT FOLKS.....

Oh BTW I averaged out the past several months of inflation and came up with an average monthly delta increase of 1.427%, if you take Aprils 8.70% and add this you would come up with 10.127% INFLATION, .127% over what Shabibi's RED LINE IS for the month of May. May's inflation numbers are due to be posted between now and the end of the month. Our chances are good IMO that we have a chance to see an increase in the exchange rate between now and then by them changing their Monetary System to International.

Nothing in the UN restrictions stand in their way from a currency reform.....

Hmm, very interesti.g. Thanks for your breakdown and input Stryker, I too think this month will be a good window between this and the tariff laws.. that is if that hasnt changed yet. Miss seeing your posts man

Thanks bluegrass! Between the CBI's measures taking longer to solve the USD from leaving into Syria and Iran and the tariffs not being delayed you're right the window looks good. I think they would need to make a new law at this point to change the tariffs because the law expires if they don't implement and we all know that will not happen, heck parliament takes more than a few weeks to get their coffee ;)

The cbi has talked many times about moving to 1000:1. I would bet, when the tarriffs are applied we will see 1000:1

sandstorm,

the only problem with this is that they cannot change the exchange rate to combat inflationary problems or other countries would do this. With the real market rate being close to 1300:1 now due to the Iranian and Syria problem and the tariffs going to cause the price of goods to increase there needs to be a complete change in the monetary structure to combat inflation IMO. The 1000:1 that you are referring to is what the CBI was expecting these new measures to take care of and a few articles have already come out saying that this is going to take longer to reduce the market rate this is causing. So until the market rate gets back down to the CBI posted rate of 1166 this will not take place IMO....

But they may not do anything either for all I know.....

Well this article is saying no chapter 7 removal until the end of the year. bummer, rv anyways

Sandstorm, don't give up yet. This British official stated this:

"...He said .. That Iraq now has a parliament, government and elections, a self-governing and do not want any neighboring country or regional interference in its internal affairs as well as we want from the Government of Iraq believes that the democratic process and freedom..."

This is an odd statement when the Prime Minister is basically in the middle of an impeachment and holds major government seats by proxy, others are calling for the United States to come back in to save them, and other countries have such influence over Iraq that it is mind boggling.

I would not put too much credance in what this man has said. I think that Chapter VII is a carrot being held by the US and will continue to dangle until Iraq gets it together. The dog has to sit and shake before he gets the bone.

Politician speak for " I'm stuck here in this s**thole place until the end of my term, so i tell them what they want to hear and praise them to the highest even if they have done sod all for years" That seems to be the gist of this news report about Aron,s visit to Karbala. Their politicians, our politicians, your politicians... spot the difference, likewise with Bankers. If he has seen drastic improvement for the better in any of these locations he must have been escorted by some unusual routes ( in the middle of the night maybe ) as others that work in these locations tell a completely different story, unfinished projects all over the place even after all the money that is supposed to have been spent on them?. What we are asked to believe in these "news" reports allmost reach Disney standards.

A good possibility the RV will happen in January rather than September. Iraq is not ready.

Well, after being in this for quite some time now, anything is possible with Iraq....

I am not going anywhere....so I wait.....

I had a thought, Yota, stryker, kamelkeeper, and anyone else who may have some insight..

Most of us are familiar with the issues of cha. 7 and the hcl and their relation to a change in he value of the dinar.. or the issuance of new currency. That coupled with the OP, and the possibility of tariff laws to be put in place it does look like we have a couple of good windows this summer and maybe early fall. However, it often doesnt look like the goi does anything but talk. Weve been hearing a lot of back and forth on the issue of no confidence in Maliki, and the collection of votes, promises of votes, hearings etc. They seem to actually be doing something..

Could it be possible that there is real work towards bringing Iraq back into the world being done and the issue of no confidence or calls for the removal of Maliki is a form of misdirection to keep prying eyes away from other activities? Not saying rv per se or that hat is what is occuring, but just looking at possibilities.

This is what I've been thinking also... The Maliki ousted not ousted saga may just be a side show thing to keep our attention off of what may really be going on behind the scenes... Let's hope so anyways :)

Oh absolutely! That could very well be the case. We will just have to wait and see........

I had a few friends call me after reading my first post on this thread to get clarity on my thoughts so I wanted to clarify my thinking from earlier.

I don't think they are ready to come out of Chapter VII and I was not saying they were, I was saying that the British Ambassador could be speaking the truth and they will not be released until the end of the year. They can still RV their currency because the remaining restrictions concerning Chapter VII have nothing to do with their currency.

The remaining restrictions that are involved with VII have to do with companies and persons like family members of Saddam that are a threat to national security to the Republic of Iraq. They have moved their currency several times over the last 9 years with being in Chapter VII.

My point was that the UN, US and Britian could let them RV now and then when Maliki screws up, come in and make him do what’s right if they don’t get him out before in the way of Parliament impeachment proceedings.

Something just tells me that the US has Chapter VII to fall back on in case their Constitution doesn’t take care of the problems. Let them RV because they can and do what is needed when they prove they cannot, if they need too!

I'm just trying to make sense out of this crap...and by the way not trying to get anyone's hopes to high including my own!

Take care....
