MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker beat back a recall challenge Tuesday, winning both the right to finish his term and a voter endorsement of his strategy to curb state spending, which included the explosive measure that eliminated union rights for most public workers.

The rising Republican star becomes the first governor in U.S. history to survive a recall attempt with his defeat of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and the union leaders who rallied for months against his agenda...

Unfortunately, union busting is just the begining for this elitest lapdog governor. The people of wisconsin will regret what comes next when he tries to complete the rest of the agenda. Next come the austerity measures, budget cuts aimed at the neediest of citizens..the elderly and children, increased taxes for all but the rich. This just shows how foolish the American people are, and how easily they can be deceived!

To all who would rejoyce at this news....your day of reckoning will come...soon enough, enjoy yourselves while you can!

Yeah, the numbers are somewhere around a 3 billion deficit when he came

into office Jan 2011....to a 154 Million surplus today. All while increasing jobs,

and reducing taxes......Its a model for the US when we lose the current POTUS :D

You can call it that if you want, no problem! I call it a kneee jerk reaction to what I've seen is wrong with most Republicans. Their incompetent criminals who are working for the elite and not the American public....or is this not the case?

Ok...so the man has a budget surplus....but his term is just starting, there's plenty of time for him to be corrupted, and he will be! Carlos

He bust them!!! Anyone know how the 3 or 4 senators recall races are doing?

All of them won by huge margins. Recall was a total waste of taxpayer dollars - because the Union's got mad when they lost their

free ticket. Huge numbers of members have dropped their union membership now that they are no longer forced to join the union.

No one should be forced to join and pay their hard earned dollars for dues unless they so choose. :twocents:

:rocking-chair:

Carlos... lay off the bath salts man! You watch to much liberal tv! That's not going to happen. Balanced budget and surplus. The man deserves some credit to do what's right!

Sorry man, I don't use any bath salts...at all! And, If I do watch TV, I know how to discern truth from fantacy. Apperantly he balanced the budget, OK, Does this mean I have to give him some respect? Sorry....I'm picky about who I respect, it will take more than that to impress me!

This is from a freind in Wisconsin.....About 2 this afternoon ;)

If Walker can pull this out, these unions are probably doomed here in Wisconsin. Already, since Act 10 has been in effect, union membership has dropped 37%, since union dues are no longer collected straight out of the pay check. Now, if you're in a union, you have to cut a check EVERY MONTH to pay your union dues. When people actually have to cut a check every month for $70 or $80 bucks, they start wondering what they're paying for. And Act 10 hasn't even been used in Madison or Milwaukee yet. Both cities signed contracts with their unions BEFORE Act 10 went into effect, so they're not seeing the benefits yet. But in a couple of years, when those contracts expire, the unions just might be footnotes of history here in Wisconsin...

Carlos, you California folks might want to find you a governor like this. Maybe then the rest of the country want have to bail you folks out! Your liberal govs and legislators have dug a hole too deep to see out of and still believe it works! Of course, with Nancy Pelousy being a shining example of liberal thinking what can you expect. Lets vote this bill in so we can find out what is in it! Remember that?

Looks like the Union money is drying up....the Dems lost control

in the 2010 elections, and what Im hearing is that the same folks

that came out so strong for Walker, cant wait to vote in Nov.

I guess we'll see, Its been a long time since Wisconsin went for

a Republican Pres.

Carlos. Dude. You sound like my redneck brother in-law. " I don't watch tv... I can discern for myself... if he has a surplus now that wld be good... . To make such statements you must be getting info from somewhere to form your opinions. Marginally, as good as anyone elses opinion. But it shows that you are not fully informed because you did not know that Walker ingerited a 3.5 billion dolar deficite. Instituted the reforms he ran on and turned his states deficite around to a surplus, and not by raising taxes for Wisconsin-ites. He actually lowered taxes. All combined, he created an environment that ACTUALLY created over 30,000 jobs. Watch the news, surf the internet, get informed and then make your own decision. Unions were great at the start of the 20th century. They brought needed safety requirements into many industries, along with fairer wages and more. Lately, their actions have shown that they have devolved into a entity that simply sucks all the profit from a private company,IMHO, and risk closing said company. Why stay in business if you can't make and keep a profit. Making money is not a evil thing. Its called capital;ism. If they can't make a profit here they will go to China or Vietnam make their profit that way by lowering their production costs. Oh wait that is what a democrat by rhe name of Mr Obama is doing now with his policies forcing american businesses to go foreign via his tax policies et al.We need to get all politicians that are not baby-boomers OUT and get their smarter baby boomer equivalants in.

It is ridiculous for Wisconsin teachers to cry foul when they contribute next to nothing for their healthcare & retirement. I am proud I live and teach in South Carolina(Right to Work State). Unions(socialist sympathizers) had their place in history, but that was 60+ years ago. Now if we could get all the ex-Ohioans to move back to Ohio. Oops...they can't go back; all their high paying union jobs are gone. huh.gifhuh.gif
