Sayhood: Qatar begins the implementation of a plan to topple Maliki <a href="http://www.ninanews.com/english/News_Print.asp?ar95_VQ=FLIHJF" target="Print">print-icon.gif[/url]save-icon.gif21/05/2012 14:18:00285462_Med.jpgBaghdad (NINA) - MP from State of Law Coalition, Mohammed Saadoun Al Sayhood, said that Qatar began to implement its project to topple the political process by supporting Vice President Hashimi and sending former officers and Fedayeen Saddam to carry out terrorist operations.

He said in a statement issued by his press office "the Iraqi intelligence unveiled a plan backed by Qatar to provide the wanted Tariq Al Hashimi with Iraqi officers who fled the country and now fled from Syria and Yemen after the recent events in these two countries and send them to Turkey to carry out terrorist operations, a thing that is regarded as the beginning changing Maliki government and to bring down the entire political process."

He added "the convergence of interests between Qatar, Turkey and Hashimi and members of the former regime was the first reason in their gathering to achieve their goal which is the destruction of Iraq, noting that the evidence Hashimi's accepting the Qatari offer to lead armed groups became apparent after refusing to hand himself over to the Iraqi justice."

He said "the internal moves to withdraw confidence from the government is seeking an internal and an introduction to the implementation of the Qatari plan through which it wants to bring Allawi to power, where that will be accompanied by the attempt to create chaos in the country through the implementation of terrorist attacks, and this was revealed by intelligence reports and the security forces were alerted to thwart it." /End/

That's exactly what Maliki wants. This gives him and excuse to expand his Marshall Law plan "in order to keep Iraq secure".

The sad thing is, it might work.

It wouldn't surprise me if he had a hand in this....

Why would Qatar send former Sadam guys in to Iraq? Why would Hashemi accept this kind of help? Why now, with Iraq being so close to getting Maliki out legally, would they try to oust him by force? Why does Qatar even care? They've put up with him this long. This smells REALLY bad.

It does not matter "why"...what matters is the possibility of the event itself.......it shows us that they are not even close to resolving the political process and that the RV is still far down the road. ;) They got a long way to go baby....a long way B)

From my research on some of this, the one thing to remember Iran holds a big influence on the politicians in Iraq. Even Talabani has ties to Iran, it is not just Maliki. The only one who does not have as many ties is Barzani. His ties are to Turkey.

As far as Hashemi for me, now we know what he is made of and whose his boys are, or maybe he is one of their boys.
