Is al-Maliki serving Iraq or Iran?

By ABDUL RAHMAN AL-RASHED

Wednesday, 02 May 2012

The clamor over Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki’s leanings has been going on since his first premiership. He had differences with political forces such as his rival Iyad Allawi’s Iraqiya List and some Sadrists.

The circle of his disagreement with others has now widened to include even his allies such as Kurds who enabled him to become the prime minister in the first instance. He has moved closer to the conservative Iranian camp in Tehran after the departure of Americans, who found him acceptable.

It was quite natural that the relations between Baghdad and Tehran became normal after Saddam’s fall. But what is all the more confusing is the alliance becoming so strong that it has the potential to change the region’s political map. What I mean is its impact on Iraq’s regional and international alliances. We cannot rely on the statements emerging from Tehran on making an alliance with Iraq such as the one made recently by Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, calling for forging a full union between Iran and Iraq. However, it is not the words but the action taken to support the words that matters.

A pertinent question in the context is why al-Maliki should choose to have an alliance with Tehran. It is a little puzzling because Iran, which is besieged internationally, has nothing to offer in return to Iraq. On the contrary, Iran will transfer to Iraq its problems such as the sectarian and regional clashes and disputes with the West, apart from the risk of global sanctions if Iraq makes any economic collaboration with Tehran. The situation will return Iraq to square one reminiscent of Iraq’s woes during the Saddam regime.

In my view, al-Maliki’s drift toward Iran springs from his desire to win the next parliamentary elections. His every move points to that direction. He wants to amend the Iraq’s constitution so that he will not have to face any legal hurdle to be prime minister for the third time. He attempts to undermine the authority of the independent High Electoral Commission and to control all decision-making centers and key ministries under him. That is why he wants the ministries of defense, security, intelligence, finance, oil and the central bank. He has taken away powers of all who stood against him including Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi and Deputy Premier Saleh Al-Mutleq. He traveled to Washington to reassure the Americans that there is nothing to worry.

However, now he is enjoying Tehran’s hospitality. For him Tehran is the key to power. It is Iran that granted him the prime minister’s post when his party lost elections with a mere 89 seats while Allawi’s coalition was far ahead. Even Shiite parties refused then to support al-Maliki’s alliance.

He flew to Tehran to seek help from the Iranian leaders. Iran interfered and mounted pressure on its allies who had 128 seats to enable Al-Maliki to become the prime minister against the popular leader Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

If al-Maliki aims to win the next elections and get the prime minister’s post for the third time, he would have to offer a lot of concessions to Iran. Those concessions will serve Iran’s interests in the region, which will, in turn, land him and his country in deep trouble. Iran will project him as an opponent of the world powers more influential than his dismissed colleagues in the government.

This explains why al-Maliki’s jumping into the regional fray in issues related to Syria and then Iran. His voluntary involvement in such issues will knock down Iraqis’ dream to keep out of foreign adventures. Another Iraqi dream is to make devoted efforts to reconstruct the country. They know that Saddam’s foreign adventures destroyed them. They also know that Iraq is the richest Arab country in terms of resources. But its people remain extremely poor. Al-Maliki’s struggle to keep his post is pushing his country to a bleak future. It will also reshape the country, whether he wishes it or not, to suit Iran’s interests and not Iraq’s.

I think about this. There is no way he should get a 3rd term. Heck, he didn't win this one. Allawi did and gave it to him through the Erbil agreement. He is a bit bold for losing. Our US government better keep at least 2 ears and 1 eye on this devil. He is up to know good. While he comes here and tells Obama all is good, just lying through his teeth. He don't bat an eye. That's evil to the bone. All of his opponents are either die or get arrested.

If we are reading all this, the world has to be. He has committed crimes on his country and has or is trying to deal with a country under sanctions. Maliki is an idiot. He wanted a pass on Iran? Is he serious? That nut running Iran is just like Maliki, the difference is the nut comes out and says it, Maliki is sneaky and does it on the sly. He has embezzled, killed, tortured, and falsely arrested folks in that country. I just don't get it. When will it be enough is enough? When Allawi was calling him out on this, everyone wanted to call him a cry baby. Allawi was trying to give us the Erbil agreement. That gives us the power sharing government.

If Maliki does not implement this I don't see Shabibi giving us the RV. No way. He is not going to allow Maliki to be a dictator with his money. Maliki needs a long walk off a short pier from a boat in the middle of the ocean. That is what needs to happen. He has goons, and in control of all the arms in the country. He has everything to be the dictator he wants to be with one exception. He don't have control of the money. Shabibi will out smart him every time. He don't take no for an answer. He keeps on until he gets what he wants. I just hope the rest of parliament is ready for his bull. They have got to stop this before it is too late. Heck it's close to that now. That is why you see the urgency in the country. They know it.

When you have a radical cleric like Sadr calling him out, then you know it is out of hand. I really think we are coming to climax here. Just wish we could know the outcome. It will be real interesting to see what comes out in the news the next few weeks.

The Apostle John was given a peek into the future. He wrote it down and it is called the Book of Revelation. In it, John, describes the condition of Babylon in the last days and how its rise affected the whole world.

Revelation 18:16:“…That great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!” 18:18 “…What city is like unto this great city!” 18:19 “Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich….” 18:23 “…Thy merchants were the great men of the earth…”

It is prophesied that Iraq will be rich once again and will make all kings, nations, and merchants rich because of her riches.

Revelation 18:3 “For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.” 18:9 “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her…” 18:15 “The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her…”

It even describes Babylon’s(Iraq) exports and ISX, (Iraqi Stock Exchange).

Rev. 18:12-13:

“The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.”

We are now standing at the edge of the beginnings of these things. Those of us who hold the Iraqi Dinar are about to enjoy the blessing of that which “hath been” becoming that which “shall be”.

The Children of GOD who are invested in this incredible last days blessing will be made rich along with unbelievers who are also invested. “It rains on the good and bad alike.” And this is okay, as long as we use this miracle of wealth for the Glory of GOD and with the wisdom HE gives us. That is not to say GOD does not want us to enjoy it, but “Seek HIM and HIS Kingdom first” with it, and “All these things shall be added unto you”.

Know also there will be a time when GOD calls HIS children out of Iraq and the things of it.

Rev. 18:4:

“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins…”

GOD has provided for us to be apart of this blessing, while at the same time staying out of the “fornications” of this world. Just like the Children of Israel being given the “Promised Land”, GOD warned them not to become like the peoples that were living there.

This will be a GREAT Blessing, and it is a Blessing from GOD.

Know this.

GOD does not Bless us with a curse, and does not curse us with a blessing.

However, it is up to us how we use it. It is up to us if we give the enemy, the devil a hand in it. We can allow the enemy to steal it from us, or we can plant it in “GOOD” ground and reap an hundred fold.

Gen. 26:12:

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the SAME year an hundredfold and the LORD blessed him.”

something i found interesting about Modern Babylon (Iraq)

Right on EasyRider!!! :twothumbs::woot: You speak the truth my friend. This is why we are living in this time. We have been born to witness, and spread the word at this time. We could have been born in the 1st or 2nd century, but no, the plan was for us to be here and now. It is a depressing thing but at the same time it is exciting. How many men and women would have loved to be chosen to be Moses, or Mary. But our significance is now and we are making history for eternity. Just simply exciting. God is Great.
