04/4/2012 10:04 AM

His Excellency Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki received, this evening, a phone call from His Excellency President of the United States Mr. Barack Obama congratulating him for the success of the Arab Summit Conference that was held in Baghdad. The U.S. president valued Iraq's positive role in the region, and the joint efforts by the Republic of Iraq and the United States in maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the region. The two leaders stressed the importance of investing the Iraqi- US relations as strategic partners .

President Obama emphasized the United States strong commitment to Iraq's national unity and democratic system .

For his part, His Excellency Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki valued the role of the U.S. President and his decision to preserve and protect the Iraqi money
