If Iraqi leaders unable to solve problems US will impose solutions – MP

4/6/2012 7:41 PM

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Lawmaker from the Kurdistan Alliance, Mahmoud Othman, warned on Friday against the continued media escalation from Saudi Arabia and Qatar against Iraq because of its stance from Iran and Syria, noting that if Iraqi leaders failed to solve their problems by themselves, the United States will impose its solution as a pivotal player in Iraq.

“The tour made by Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi is the start of crises sparked by Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey against Iraq, to take their revenge from Iraq’s previous stances from conditions in Syria and not to discuss any subject related to Iran in the Arab summit,” Othman told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Iraq will be affected by this escalation, mainly as Saudi Arabia and Qatar plays an important role in the gulf and can affect other gulf countries from one part and from Turkey and United States on the other,” he added.

“All Iraqi leaders, who should sit together and solve all problems, otherwise we will face a state of chaos throughout the country, which will turn to be a regional and American issue, as America is the only country which could easily plays a role in the Iraqi internal file and can impose their own solution,” he continued.

Al Hashemi, wanted by the Iraqi government over an alleged role in acts of terrorism, had initially left the Iraqi capital for Kurdistan.

However, the Kurdish zone was unwilling to hand him over and Baghdad's demands to make him face justice were rejected.

His trip to Qatar sparked bitter domestic and international standoffs.

In a statement, al-Hashemi's office said that he left the Kurdistan region of Iraq for Doha in

response to an invitation he had previously received.

The office said that al-Hashemi would spend some days in Qatar before visiting Riyadh and other countries and returning to Kurdistan.

Thank you ms Texas Granny. See I knew it. The US cannot go in and make a solution. But Maliki wants to tell the people that to scare them. Dang their politics are as bad as ours. But the US can keep sanctions if they don't have a power sharing government.

Oh and you too Yota I see now you got a link too. Dang, DV is on top of it. :twothumbs:
