Alright you loppers, you've convinced me, I am selling and going to the casinos to have more fun losing my money or 'break even'.....lol, JK.....Cooked, keepm is right we have to hope the government shoots these plans down.......I truly feel if they were gonna lop they would have did it a couple of years ago.....why would they wait til now to do it? They are prepraring to take center stage in the world as we speak....ch 7 is soon to be lifted, HCL is soon to be completed, Erbil is done or soon to be...it is all gonna happen at once.....they are ready NOW, not several years down the road (and that is how long it would take for investors to gain confidence in their economy if they were to RD)........Shabibi knows what he wants BUT so does al-Maliki.......Shabibi has the time it takes for slow growth, Maliki DOESN'T.......lets see who wins, I am betting on Maliki......go RV!!!!!!

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear.

I was directing my response to the OP who is ignoring responses, in consideration of what you said.

No worries. The thread starter does seem to be avoiding any possible answers as I saw that he started another thread. Not sure what his end game is. For the record, I do think this thing will revalue, I'm just torn on taking these articles at face value or taking them as smoke, inclining more with the latter.

You should be able to edit and delete the extra paragraph :)

Unfortunately this maybe the perfect time for them to RD. None of the events that you describe to soon take place mean that they can or will RV but with a lot of those items complete then they would probably now want to go ahead with erasing the effects of past hyperinflation so that the new currency can benefit from the completion of these important issues.

Investors in Iraq could care less what state the Iraqi currency is in as long as the CBI has inflation in check which they do at the moment. Most if not all who are invested in Iraq are seeing their profits in the form of USD or Euros. Those who are recieving dinar are recieving the relevant amount to match their earned profits.

Really once again it all comes down to the exsistence of the RV. There is no such thing as a massive overnight RV and that is fact. Long term slow growth maybe but never a jump like has been pumped as imminet for all these years.

I actually already said this, more or less. Cooked isn't listening. :(

Thanks for your response, I guess we can agree to disagree on what is possible and what is not....

reform the system of payments through cash benefits at both the horizontal and vertical. At the horizontal level, the deletion of the three leading zeros to convert 30 trillion dinars to 30 billion dinars by deleting three zeros from the currency and replace the current in order to facilitate the process of dealing arithmetic. On the vertical plane, the deletion of zeros would lead to the restructuring of the currency and installed.

There cannot possibly be a LOP as no such thing exists. If you asking about a redenomination, then that is certainly what it looks like. Many will twist the interpretation but Saleh stated that the decimal point would be moved three places, make your own mind up.

Bear in mind redenominations require government approval and a public awareness campaign. Revaluations are carried out in secret.

There is every possibility we will see a revaluation long before the redenomination.

The chance of a LOP has been explained many times in so many articles. It would be much easier for you to just do a search on a LOP.

But this shoud definitely ease you mind about the possibility of Iraq having a LOP.

If you have invested in this currency you already know that the Iraqi Dinar is currently worth far less than one penny.

If they were to LOP that would reduce the value of their currency even further and in this particular case would reduce their currency 1000 times.

Now ask yourself this question:

How would making a currency, that is already pretty much worthless , even more worthless, in fact make it 1000 times more worthless, benefit the country of Iraq ?

After you have asked yourself that question -- I am sure you will realize that you really do not need to even consider Iraq having a LOP on their currency.

Can I ask you something?? How do you figure that if they were to lop it would reduce the value of the currency even further? IF they did lop, the currency we have now would carry the same value as it always has....a 25k note would still be 25k dinar, its just that one 25k note at 1170 would be equal to one NEW 25 note at somewhere around 1.17.....therefore there is no loss in value. How did you come to your conclusion?

It must be the new math. The kind our gov't uses when they leave food, housing, and fuel out of the calculations for the rate of inflation. :P

I have been on this site long before you ever appeared. I have had many conversations with you in the past and none of them have been very productive.

I have seen you intentionally stir up trouble between members and personally do not consider you opinion to be of any value what-so-ever.

I think you might get the drift of what I am trying to say here, I do not intend to discuss this or anything else with you, as I do not GARA what you say or think... End of Story.

Why the negs, i'm asking how this is good for us. Tell me why this is good, dont just neg me.

It's just another article in a long list of similar articles. There will be no truthful news that will usher in any form of currency increase.

Cooked, you need to take another vacation from this place! The weather's great, get out there! Enjoy. You'll get an email if anything happens.

This is meant as friendly advice to you and any others that may full into the dark side. (lopsters) smile.gif

Restructure the currency... call it what you want, LOP....all I care about....is the foreign exchange rate.

If they restructure the local currency one-one, how will this affect the foreign exchange rate?

When will this take effect?

Will Iraq continue to use USD to purchase goods and services after they restructure their currency?

Will they continue the auctions? (See question above)

Will IQD be a global currency?

When?

When will the monetary value affect the purchasing power for their citizens?

Answer: When they become a globally traded currency and stop the auctions for USD. (is this the plan?)

These are the questions I am looking for the answers to. I have looked and looked for answers to these questions and there are no breadcrumbs.

It has been said they are restructuring the currency because they will save money in the processing and handling of money, they could potentially save 8%, this was stated when they said they were looking to Sweden to follow their cash management mechanism. Read up on Sweden, it is worth learning about their transformation and how they handle their local currency and how they moved to (1) zero bank notes.

Check Legolas breakdown post. I gave my opinion on alot of these issues and even though I cant give any answers to those questions because nobody knows, we can speculate and discuss each possibility. These are valid questions and ones that can actually occur as opposed to a 100,000% increase overnight. I feel it is important to start debate on post RD dinar activities rather than on which dealers will cash us out after the "RV".

I did read Legolas post and it was a logical post. Agree, until we actually see all these questions answered, I am not sure where this will go, so many possibilities, so many unanswered questions, so many opinions. We need bread crumbs.smile.gif

Um why would someone neg me for asking questions, intelligent questions, was I rude?
