في ما يلي التقديرات الاولية المتوفرة حتى الآن لنتائج الانتخابات التشريعية التي جرت الاحد في العراق وكانت الثانية منذ سقوط نظام صدام حسين في نيسان/ابريل 2003. Following are the preliminary estimates available so far, the results of legislative elections held Sunday in Iraq and was the second since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in April 2003.

-- ائتلاف دولة القانون بزعامة المالكي (400 مرشح في 15 محافظة)، حل في الطليعة في المحافظات الجنوبية الشيعية التسع (النجف وواسط وذي قار والديوانية والبصرة وكربلاء والمثنى وميسان وبابل). - A coalition of law to Maliki's (400 candidates in 15 districts), a solution in the forefront in the nine Shia southern provinces (Najaf, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Diwaniyah, Basra and Karbala, Muthanna, Maysan and Babil).

وتشغل هذه المحافظات 119 مقعدا في المجلس. These provinces occupy 119 seats in the Council.

-- القائمة العراقية (او الكتلة الوطنية العراقية) بقيادة رئيس الوزراء الاسبق اياد علاوي الشيعي العلماني (530 مرشحا في 15 محافظة)، حلت في الطليعة في محافظات العرب السنة الاربع (الانبار وصلاح الدين وديالى ونينوى). - Iraqi National List (or the Iraqi National Bloc) led by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, a secular Shiite (530 candidates in 15 districts), dissolved in the forefront of the four Sunni Arab provinces (Anbar, Salahuddin and Diyala and Nineveh).

وتتمثل محافظات العرب السنة بسبعين مقعدا. The Sunni Arab provinces seventy seats.

كما حلت ثانيا في ثلاث محافظات شيعية (بابل والمثنى والبصرة) وكركوك. The three runners in the Shiite provinces (Babylon, Muthanna and Basra) and Kirkuk.

-- الائتلاف الوطني العراقي (547 مرشحا في 15 محافظة): في المرتبة الثانية في ست محافظات جنوبية (النجف وواسط وذي قار والديوانية وكربلاء وميسان) وفي المرتبة الثالثة في ثلاث اخرى (البصرة والمثنى وبابل). - Iraqi National Coalition (547 candidates in 15 counties): In the second place in the six southern provinces (Najaf, Wasit, Dhi Qar, Diwaniyah, Karbala, Maysan) and third in three others (Basra, Muthanna, Babylon).

-- التحالف الكردستاني (365 مرشحا في 11 محافظة): تصدر النتائج في محافظة كركوك التي يتنازعها الاكراد والعرب وفي محافظات اربيل والسليمانية ودهوك. - The Kurdistan Alliance (365 candidates in 11 provinces): results are in the disputed province of Kirkuk, which Kurds and Arabs and in the governorates of Arbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk.

وتشغل المحافظات الكردية الثلاث 41 مقعدا في البرلمان. And operates the three Kurdish provinces 41 seats in parliament.

-- نسبة المشاركة والاحزاب حسب المحافظات: بلغت نسبة المشاركة على المستوى الوطني 62,4 بالمئة، حسبما ذكرت مديرة الدائرة الانتخابية حمدية الحسيني. - The rate of participation by the provinces and parties: the percentage of participation at the national level 62,4 percent, according to Director of the constituency Hamdiya Husseini.

- المثنى 61 % - Muthanna 61%

- ميسان 50 % - Maysan 50%

- بابل 63 % - Babylon 63%

-- المحافظات الكردية - Kurdish provinces

+ نسبة المشاركة: + Participation rate:

- اربيل 76 % - Arbil 76%

- السليمانية 73 % - Sulaimaniyah 73%

- دهوك 80 % - Dohuk 80%

-- اما في محافظة كركوك المتنازع عليها: - Either in the disputed province of Kirkuk:

+ الائتلاف الذي يتصدر النتائج: التحالف الكردستاني +, Which leads the coalition of results: the Kurdistan Alliance

+ نسبة المشاركة: 73 % + Participation rate: 73%

وستصدر المفوضية العليا المستقلة للانتخابات النتائج الجزئية الخميس المقبل. The Commission will publish the Electoral partial results next Thursday. اما النتائج النهائية فستعلن في 18 اذار/مارس الحالي والرسمية اواخر الشهر. The final results will be declared in the March 18 current and official end of the month.

وقد بلغ عدد المرشحين في الاقتراع 6218 بينهم 1801 امرأة لشغل 325 مقعدا في مجلس النواب بينها ثمانية مقاعد للاقليات و82 للنساء، لولاية مدتها اربع سنوات. The total number of candidates in the 6218 ballot, including 1801 women to fill the 325 seats in the House of Representatives, including eight seats for minorities and 82 for women, for a term of four years.

ودعي 19,8 مليون ناخب للتصويت في 18 محافظة على اساس النظام النسبي الذي يجعل كلا من هذه المحافظات دائرة واحدة في الاقتراع الذي شارك فيه 86 كيانا سياسيا بينها 12 ائتلافا. Invited 19,8 million eligible voters to vote in the 18 provinces on the basis of the proportional system, which makes both of these provinces is one district in the balloting, in which 86 political entities, including 12 coalitions.

So, does this mean that the prime minister seat is between maliki and allawi? How will that affect what needs to be accomplished? Do either one of the candidates have opposition that will threaten their office and keep the onlookers like IMF skeptical of the country's ability to remain solid and secure? Honestly, I have been trying to read the political threads, and I get lost by the name drops and what each of those candidates stand for. However, look at obama...he won the elections by a vast majority, and now it seems that everywhere I read such discontent for his ability to lead the U.S. Could anyone gives us a quick break down of the main players and what they have promised or hoped to accomplish during their term as PM....
