  1. 7 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/may-12-2023 May 12, 2023 Answers to Prayer For the past three days, I have been sharing with you about the power of prayer, and learning about paga, the Hebrew word for intercession. Today, I’m going to share four stories with you about answered prayer. First John 5:14-15 tells us: “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” Let these stories boost your faith and confidence. In her book, Miracles Happen When You Pray, Quin Sherrer shares the following testimony: “Prakash, a crusade worker in India, looked at the lifeless body of his son and felt his heart collapse with grief. “Prakash had been out in the field, sharing the gospel, when he received an urgent telegram from his wife. He rushed home and discovered that his son was nearly dead. They couldn’t afford an ambulance, so Prakash and his wife boarded a crowded bus and began the long journey to a hospital in a neighboring city. On the way, their son’s heart stopped beating. All the passengers on the bus gave him up for lost. “‘I felt as if a big bolt of lightning had struck my heart,’ Prakash said. ‘My sorrow knew no bounds, and my wife was fully immersed in tears.’ “But in the midst of the tragedy, faith filled his heart with renewed confidence and power. ‘The child is not dead, just sleeping,’ Prakash announced with boldness that made the passengers on the bus laugh as if he were insane. “Prakash immediately knelt down in the aisle of the bus and prayed over the body of his son. Ten minutes into his prayer, a pulse returned to the child’s body, and he opened his eyes. “The passengers were stunned. ‘Your God is truly great!’ they said in amazement. ‘Tell us about Him.’ “Rejoicing in God’s miraculous answer to his prayers, Prakash shared the Gospel with a captive audience.” (1) What a great story! I believe God will give us more signs and wonders that will, just as in this story, cause unbelievers to come to Christ. In their book Praying Prodigals Home, authors Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock share the following two stories: “At age 14, Dawn began showing signs of hostility toward my husband, her stepfather. Up until this time, she had called him Daddy and insisted on having her last name changed to his. But when she rebelled, she contacted the authorities at her school and told them she was going to run away if we didn’t allow her to live with her girlfriend and her family. “The court got involved, and I lost custody of her. She became a ward of the court, then was placed in a succession of foster homes. When we would see her in court, she would swear at us and make obscene gestures. It broke my heart to see her like this. “Because of her extreme hostility, the Child Protective Services suspected she’d been molested, and they thought my husband may have been the one who did it. Later we learned it was a friend’s 41-year-old father. “The eight months that Dawn was out of our home were nearly unbearable for me. I became desperate before God. On Mother’s Day Sunday in church, our pastor spoke of the woman with the issue of blood and how she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. That morning, in prayer, I pressed in and touched the hem of His garment - somehow, I knew God had heard my cry. Don’t ask me how; I just knew! I placed my daughter completely in God’s hands and trusted Him to bring about a miracle. “Shortly after that experience, God began turning the situation around through some amazing events. My husband chose to forgive Dawn for her rebellion, and our relationship with her was healed. Then the court returned custody to us. Considering all the circumstances, it had seemed impossible that our prodigal would ever return home. But God is faithful, and He restored our family. “Today Dawn is my best friend. When she was 24, my husband even got to adopt her. Only God could have put these broken pieces together again.” (2) And also, from Praying Prodigals Home: “For years, Evelyn had prayed Scripture prayers for her children. After Ken left home and moved back East, Evelyn went to visit him. He had backslidden. She was deeply grieved by his attitude and lifestyle, and boarded the plane with a heavy heart for her return flight home. ‘“Sitting on the plane, I talked to the Lord about Ken. She said, ‘I prayed, “God, I know all the Scriptures that are there to stand on for my family, but I need something new and fresh so I can fight the good fight for my son to return to You.” “‘I opened up to Proverbs and began to read. Suddenly a verse seemed to leap off the page, and faith was born in my heart: “You can also be very sure that God will rescue the children of the godly” (Proverbs 11:21, TLB). I had never noticed that Scripture, but this was a Bible version I wasn’t accustomed to.”’ “She clung to God’s promise for 13 years that He would rescue her child. “‘God kept telling us we should talk to Him more about Ken and less to Ken about Him! Ken’s life was becoming deplorable, but we kept loving and praying. Eventually, he began to trust us not to preach to him or condemn him, and he would turn to us when he was hurting. Once, he called and was hinting for us to pray for him. Then one day, we had the courage to ask if we could pray for him, and he allowed us to. That was a real breakthrough.‘ “Evelyn and her husband prayed that God would send people into Ken’s life who would have a positive influence on him, and it happened. Ken met up with a former friend who was a Christian and eventually agreed to go to church with him. When he called home to tell his mom, she just listened, not wanting to overreact or offend him. A few days later, he called again and told her he’d attended another church service. He said he felt the Lord told him this was his last chance. At that point, he repented and returned to the Lord. “‘Finally, the day came when we were able to see our son,’ Evenlyn shared. ‘I’ll never forget the moment he rang the doorbell and I opened the door. There he stood, so visibly changed! Ken’s countenance, dark for so many years, now was lit up with that inward glow that only Jesus can give. Yes, our prodigal son had returned!” (3) And lastly, our dear friend, Beth Alves, who is now in Heaven, shared the following testimony of creating a boundary (paga) of protection with her prayers. And what a story it is! “An example of intercession in my own life involves a cousin I hadn’t seen in about ten years. I crawled out of bed in the middle of the night for a glass of water when a picture of my cousin canvassed my mind. Suddenly I dropped to my knees and began to cry out, ‘God, don’t let Mike move! Keep him still, Lord! Keep him still! Oh God, please don’t let him move! Hold him, Lord! Hold him!’ “Even though I was pleading on Mike’s behalf with my words, I remember thinking, This is really ridiculous. Why am I praying this? Then the words ceased. So I got up, drank a glass of water, and started back toward the bedroom. Again I fell to the floor and began to cry out with a grave sense of urgency. ‘Don’t let him move, God! Don’t let Mike move! Stay still! Stay still!’ The words came to an abrupt end. This time I thought, This must be a nightmare! “I had no feeling inside of me other than the feeling to pray. I got up and began to pace the floor, wondering what in the world that was all about. One more time, I took a few steps toward the bedroom when again I dropped to the floor. Only this time, I was yelling, ‘Get him up, Lord! Get him to run! Run, Mike! Lord, help him to run…run…run! Let him run, God! Run, run, run!’ After several minutes, a calm came over me, and I returned to bed for the night. “The following day, I called my aunt to see if she could help me put the pieces together about my puzzling outcries the night before. She informed me only that Mike was in Vietnam. The experience still made very little sense. “Finally, a month later, my aunt called to read a letter she had received. The letter told how Mike, who was a pilot, had been shot down; he and his parachute landed in a tree. He had been trained to get out of the area as quickly as possible, but explained that just a few hundred yards from the crash site, he fell into a bush. ‘Mom,’ he wrote, ‘it was like I was pinned down. I felt like somebody was sitting on me. The Vietcong came and were unknowingly standing on my pant leg while looking up at my parachute in the tree. They turned around and began to slash the bushes with their bayonets. It looked safe, so I started to get up and run when once again, I fell into the bush as though someone was pushing me. I lay there for a couple of minutes when suddenly I had the impulse to get up and run. I heard a helicopter, so I sprinted through the wooded area, following the direction of the noise, to an open space where I was whisked off to safety. The helicopter crew said they came in response to my beeper. And yet, it was damaged when I was shot down and wasn’t working!’” (4) Incredible..! Prayer: Today for our prayer and decree, I want to do something different. YOU pray your own prayer and release a decree for someone - a prodigal, or one who is struggling in life, or perhaps someone who needs a miracle. Call them by name, ask Holy Spirit to lead you, and trust Him to do so. I am going to turn off the camera and do the same. ******************* See you on Monday. 2. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/may-4-2023 May 4, 2023 Why Do We Need to Pray? “Because I said so!” Don’t you just hate it when that’s the reason given for being made to do something? Not only is it frustrating, but it’s also a motivation killer. It’s one thing when the question “Why?” stems from a rebellion-rooted resistance, but when one sincerely doesn’t understand why, this answer can be a real bummer. I remember having my knuckles rapped with a ruler for asking the simple question, “Why?” Whack! “Because I said so! Now be quiet and do it.” I still wish I could rap that teacher’s knuckles with a yardstick and not tell her why! (We’ll deal with forgiveness and inner healing another day.) None of us want to do something just because someone else said so. Oh, I know God requires things of us at times without the full knowledge of why, but they are usually faith and timing issues - not the way He expects us to live life on a regular basis. He doesn’t program us like robots, or require an ostrich mentality of us: head in the sand, blind to the truth, the issues, and facts. I Wonder Why God has given us a Bible full of answers to the whys of life. The one I’m interested in is: Why pray? I’m not speaking of why in the sense of needing this or that. Obviously, we ask because we want or need something. I’m speaking of why in the context of God’s sovereignty. Do my prayers really matter all that much? Isn’t God going to do what He wants anyway? Most people, even if only subconsciously, believe just that. The proof is in their prayer life, or lack thereof. Can my prayers actually change things? Does God need me to pray, or does He just want me to pray? Some would argue an omnipotent God doesn’t “need” anything, including our prayers. Can God’s will on Earth be frustrated or not accomplished if I don’t pray? Many would brand me a heretic for even raising the question. But these and other questions deserve answers. I’ve discovered that understanding the why of doing something can be a great motivating force. Not knowing why robs us of motivation. As a kid, I wondered why the sign said “No Diving” in the shallow end of the pool. Then one day, I hit my head on the bottom. I don’t do that anymore! I wondered why I couldn’t touch the pretty red glow on the stove. I found out! I wondered why the guy in front of me in the woods said, “Duck.” I thought, I don’t want to duck. I don’t have to duck. Then the branch whopped me upside the head. Now I duck. I Need to Know Someone said, “To err is human; to repeat it is stupid.” I’m sure I’ve qualified for the latter once or twice, but not with these three issues because where they are concerned, I know why! However, we’re not talking about bumps, burns, and bruises when we speak of prayer; we’re speaking of eternal destinies. We’re talking about homes, marriages, the welfare of people we love, revival in our cities - the list continues. When God says, “Pray,” I want to know it will make a difference. I’m not into religious exercises, and my time is valuable - so is yours. Was S. D. Gordon right or wrong when he said, “You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed… Prayer is striking the winning blow… service is gathering up the results”? (1) If God is going to do something regardless of whether or not we pray, then He doesn’t need us to ask, and we don’t need another waste of time. If it’s all que sera, sera, then let’s take a siesta and let it all just happen. If, on the other hand, John Wesley was correct when he said, “God does nothing on the earth save in answer to believing prayer,” I’ll lose a little sleep for that. I’ll change my lifestyle, turn the TV off, even miss a meal or two. Is Prayer Really Necessary? The real question is: Does a sovereign, all-powerful God need our involvement or not? Is prayer really necessary? I believe it is. Our prayers CAN bring revival. They CAN bring healing. We CAN change a nation. Strongholds CAN come down when and because we pray. I agree with E. M. Bounds, who said: “God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil… The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock of heaven by which God carries on His great work upon earth. God conditions the very life and prosperity of His cause on prayer.” (2) Quite a statement, and I couldn’t agree more. Think about it: Is this not the reason the earth is in such a mess? Not because God wills it so, but because of His sovereign decision to work and carry out His will through people. Is this not the story woven throughout the Scriptures: God and humans, for better or worse, working together? God needing faithful men and women? God needing prophets? Judges? Preachers? God needing a human Messiah? God needing human hands to heal, human voices to speak and human feet to go? Yes, this “need” was created by His decision - God has no inherent limitations - but Scripture is clear: God works on Earth through humans. Doesn’t He need us to ask for His kingdom to come, His will to be done (see Matthew 6:10)? Surely He wouldn’t want us to waste our time asking for something that was going to happen anyway, would He? Didn’t He tell us to ask for our daily bread (Matthew 6:11)? And yet, He knows our needs before we even ask ( Matthew 6:8). Didn’t Jesus tell us to ask that laborers be sent into the spiritual harvest (see Matthew 9:38)? Yet, doesn’t the Lord of the harvest want that more than we do? Didn’t Paul say, “Pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified” (2 Thessalonians 3:1)? Wasn’t God already planning to do this? Are not all of these things God’s will? Why, then, are we supposed to ask Him for something He already wants to do - if it isn’t that our asking somehow “releases” Him to do it? Either God wants the earth in its horrible condition, or He doesn’t. If He doesn’t, which is certainly the case, we must assume one of the two things. Either He is powerless to do anything about it, or He needs and is waiting on something from us humans to bring about change. Dr. Peter Wagner stated it this way: “We must understand that our sovereign God has, for His own reasons, so designed this world that much of what is truly His will He makes contingent on the attitudes and actions of human beings. He allows humans to make decisions that can influence history… Human inaction does not nullify the atonement, but human inaction can make the atonement ineffective for lost people.” (3) This is why the great spiritual statesman Jack Hayford said: “Prayer is essentially a partnership of the redeemed child of God working hand in hand with God toward the realization of His redemptive purposes on earth” (4) On this National Day of Prayer - and every day - let’s rise to the occasion and embrace the incredible invitation to be co-laborers with God…representatives of Christ, carriers of His awesome Holy Spirit, and ambassadors for God’s great Kingdom. It matters. Pray with me: Daniel, Nehemiah, and others in Scripture began their prayers for restoration with identificational repentance. Father, following their examples, we do so now. Our nation has turned from You and served the baals. This has produced violence, murder, broken homes, abandoned children, unsecured borders, evil and godless government, loss of our national destiny, addiction, homelessness, identity-less children, child mutilation, abortion, a weak economy, great division and hatred, lukewarmness in the church, and much more. We repent on behalf of our nation. Many have done so in the past, yet the sins continue; therefore, we do also. We cannot earn forgiveness or salvation; this comes only through faith in the sacrifice of Christ. Through this sacrifice, which releases mercy, we appeal for national cleansing and restoration. Deliver us from evil. Give us honest, humble, wise, sane, servant leaders in government. Give us an honest media, true educators, a strong military, secure borders, and an on-fire church. Give us revival - a great awakening and a reformation. And give us a worldwide harvest. We pray these things, now and always, in the name of Yeshua, the Hope of the world. Amen. Our decree: We decree that the God who birthed America CAN and WILL save America! **************************** Today’s post was taken from my book Intercessory Prayer, and published by Baker Books. 3. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/may-3-2023 May 3, 2023 The National Day of Prayer Tomorrow, the first Thursday of May, is the National Day of Prayer. Many will be gathering in groups around the nation, praying together for God’s hand to lead America. Today’s post is written by our good friend, Timmerle Kelly. She is the Executive Director of the Reformation Prayer Network, reaching all 50 states. Timmerle shares: “Observing a day of prayer for our nation, the National Day of Prayer can be traced back to the founding of the United States. Throughout history, our nation's leaders have called for prayer during times of crisis, challenge, or thanksgiving. As early as 1775, the Continental Congress declared a day of prayer to seek God's guidance and protection as they sought independence from Britain.1 Their motivation may have been Proverbs 3:5-6. The New King James Version says, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.’ “Throughout the years, presidents, including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, proclaimed days of fasting and prayer. These leaders understood their need for God’s intervention as they led America. They believed His Word and set aside time to seek His face. “After a joint resolution by Congress in 1952, President Harry S. Truman signed the National Day of Prayer into law, making it an annual observance. President Ronald Reagan determined it should be observed annually on the first Thursday of May.2 Every president since Truman has issued a proclamation recognizing the National Day of Prayer, affirming the importance of prayer in the life of our nation.3 The Theme for 2023 “This year, the theme of the National Day of Prayer is ‘Pray Fervently in Righteousness and Avail Much’; it is taken from James 5:16 (NKJV), ‘The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.’4 This is a timely reminder that as we join together in prayer, we are partnering with God and engaging in powerful spiritual warfare. “As we walk in righteousness, our prayers have the potential to produce dramatic change, not only in our lives, but also in the world around us. To pray fervently means to be persistent and passionate in our prayers, refusing to give up or be discouraged until we see answers to our intercession. In this, we find our strength and our hope. “Kathy Branzell, President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, shared her thoughts regarding this year's theme, stating, ‘God’s Word is clear, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV). This is a time for us to come together, united in prayer, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.’ 5 “Tomorrow, may we join others in praying fervently and passionately for our nation. Righteousness is not something we can achieve on our own, but rather, is a gift from God through the blood of Jesus as we repent and believe on Him. Ask for this on behalf of our nation. As we submit ourselves to Him and walk in His ways, we can be confident that our prayers will avail much, impacting our nation for the glory of God. The Power of Unity in Prayer “Unity is a vital force within the body of Christ and is essential as we remember the National Day of Prayer. In John 17:21 (NKJV), Jesus prayed that ‘...they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You.’ When we unite in prayer, we fulfill the heart of Jesus' prayer, demonstrating to the world the love and unity that can be found in Him. “Kathy Branzell emphasized the importance of unity in prayer, saying in her article regarding this year’s NDP, that this is a time ‘for us to come together, united in prayer, to seek His face and turn from our wicked ways.’ 6 This unity in prayer sends a clear message to the enemy that we are standing strong, united under the banner of Christ. As we pray and agree together, we can shift the spiritual atmosphere and bring about change in our nation (see Matthew 18:19-20). “Dave Kubal, president of Intercessors for America, urges believers to pray for our leaders, emphasizing this as a Biblical mandate. 7 We elect our leaders, but we must ask God to lead them. We often focus on our denominational and political differences and quarrels, but it is a significant statement to the nations that American Christians can put aside their differences and pray together for our country and its leaders. As we come together, we are declaring that we trust in God's mercy and power, knowing He is the only One who can bring healing and restoration to our land. Taking Action on the National Day of Prayer “Let’s pray tomorrow, especially for those who lead us governmentally, doing so in accordance with 1 Timothy 2:2, ‘Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.’ Pray for national leaders as well as your state and local leaders - governors, mayors, city council members, etc. Intercessors for America (IFApray.org) lists the leaders of each state on their website. If you do not already know yours, you can find them there. “God established the family as the core institution for humans on earth. Our families are meant to be places of security, where we form our sense of self and identity, and where we should learn to worship God. We are all aware the enemy hates family. It is a primary focus of Satan’s attacks and is a subject worthy of our fervent intercession. Praying for those that govern us and for families are just two of many areas we can focus on tomorrow. “There are local National Day of Prayer gatherings where you can pray with other Christians in your community. Many sites are listed on the National Day of Prayer.org website. If there isn’t one near you, consider taking the initiative to gather your family, friends, and co-workers together to pray for our nation. “We are grateful that our Presidents saw fit to set aside a day each year so we could join together to pray for America. It has never been more important that we do so. Take some time tomorrow to pause and pray for our great nation. “May our hearts be filled with hope and expectation as we join together on this year’s National Day of Prayer.” Pray with me: Father, tomorrow is a significant day in America, a set-apart day when Your Church crosses denominational, cultural, and political lines, humbles herself, and prays together for our nation. We are told to approach You daily, asking for heaven’s bread and provision. Many do so. And yet, it is good and important that we set apart a national, government-honored day to seek You. America is in desperate need of Your guidance and direction. Forgive us for our national sin of rejecting You and neglecting to seek Your plans and Your ways. We have wandered far from You, yet You are merciful. You multiply power when we pray in unity; we do so now. We pray that the spiritual atmosphere over our nation shifts, that the united prayers of Your people would be used to usher in transformation, justice, and Your intervention in every sphere of society. As people participate, move upon their hearts, especially those who don’t know You or are lukewarm in their walk with You. Awaken desire in them! And also, as some who are complacent participate, we ask You to alert many of them to America’s desperate need of You. And lastly, we ask for an awakening, a stirring, in the hearts of pastors and leaders toward prayer. So few churches pray. Please change this somehow. In Jesus’ healing name, we pray. Amen. Our decree: We decree that as we agree in fervent prayer on the National Day of Prayer, power will be released to accomplish a mighty move of God's Spirit, bringing healing and restoration to America. *********************** Click on the link below to watch full video. ------------------------------------------------------- 1 https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-day-of-prayer-first-thursday-in-may/#:~:text=President%20Harry%20S.,been%20proclaimed%20each%20year%20 2 Ibid. 3 Ibid. 4 https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/2023_theme 5 https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/spring_2023_ministry_update 6 Ibid. 7 https://ifapray.org/pray-for-america/
  4. 7 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/may-1-2023 May 1, 2023 America’s Christian Heritage After sharing several posts last week on the importance of history, the synergy of the ages, placing ourselves in the storyline, and the Appeal To Heaven flag, it seems appropriate to quote from some of America’s history. Sometimes we “move on” too quickly. The following prayers and quotes are from some of America’s Founders and Presidents. The following prayer was “adapted from Washington’s Circular Letter to the States, which he wrote on June 8, 1783, as the commander in chief, at his headquarters in Newburgh, New York. This circular was directed to the governors and states of the new nation. His reference to them has been replaced by the words ‘the United States.’ Otherwise, the words and the spellings are those of General George Washington of the Continental Army.” “I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have the United States in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristics of the Devine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation. Amen.”(1) On June 28, 1787, when our framers were struggling to agree on a suitable Constitution, Benjamin Franklin - considered one of the least spiritual of the Founders - made the following statement. His appeal began the practice of opening sessions of Congress with prayer: (I have included the entire Proclamation for you, although I won’t read it all today.) “The small progress we have made after four or five weeks of close attendance & continual reasonings with each other -- our different sentiments on almost every question, several of the last producing as many noes as ays, is methinks a melancholy proof of the imperfection of the Human Understanding. We indeed seem to feel our own want of political wisdom, since we have been running about in search of it. We have gone back to ancient history for models of government, and examined the different forms of those Republics, which having been formed with the seeds of their own dissolution now no longer exist. And we have viewed the Modern States all around Europe, but find none of their Constitutions suitable to our circumstances. “In this situation of this Assembly groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for Divine Protection. -- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence, we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance? “I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without [H]is notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without [H]is aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings that "except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without [H]is concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a bye word down to future age. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter, from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human Wisdom, and leave it to chance, war, and conquest. “I, therefore, beg leave to move -- that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of this City be requested to officiate in that service.” (2) Abraham Lincoln wrote the following proclamation to Americans on March 30, 1863: (I have included the entire speech for you, although I won’t read it all today.) “Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation: “And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord: “And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness. “Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion. “All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace. “In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.” (3) In 1911, the year before he was elected president, Woodrow Wilson assured the listeners that he was right with the Lord, and said: "America was born a Christian nation. America was born to exemplify that devotion to the elements of righteousness, which are derived from the revelations of Holy Scripture. "Ladies and gentlemen, I have a very simple thing to ask of you. I ask of every man and woman in this audience that from this night on they will realize that part of the destiny of America lies in their daily perusal of this great book of revelations -- that if they would see America free and pure they will make their own spirits free and pure by this baptism of the Holy Scripture." (4) On one of his famous radio addresses, FDR said the following: "No greater thing could come to our land today than a revival of the spirit of religion -- a revival that would sweep through the homes of the nation and stir the hearts of men and women of all faiths to a reassertion of their belief in God and their dedication to His will for themselves and for their world. I doubt if there is any problem -- social, political, or economic -- that would not melt away before the fire of such a spiritual awakening." (5) And finally, President Harry Truman, in a 1950 speech before a conference on law enforcement, said: "THE FUNDAMENTAL basis of this nation's law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings which we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, Isaiah, and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. "If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state." (6) Selah - pause and think about that one! So much for the revisionist attempts to steal our Christian heritage. It is there, and it will remain. Put yourself in the storyline, agree with these leaders - help create the synergy of the ages, and appeal to heaven. It still works. Pray with me: Father, this week during which America will honor a National Day of Prayer, we look back at our beginning and thank You. Thank You for righteous women and men who believed Your Word, honored the gospel of Christ, and realized that unless You built America, they - and we - labored in vain. Though their words have been dishonestly and shamefully hidden, they are on record and alive in Heaven. We honor these words, agree with them, and declare them over America today. You told Jeremiah his words, given to him by You, would “pluck up…break down…destroy…overthrow…build and plant” (Jeremiah 1:10). Surely our Spirit-led words, authorized by Jesus, can do the same. You said Your Words are Spirit and life (John 6:63), a spiritual sword (Ephesians 6:17), and seeds that birth and bear fruit (Mark 4:14; 1 Peter 1:23). Therefore… Our decree: We boldly decree today: America was birthed by God for His purposes, those purposes are alive and well, and America shall be saved! *********************** Click on the link below to watch the full video. ________________________________ https://www.mountvernon.org/the-estate-gardens/the-tombs/george-washingtons-prayer-for-his-country/ Franklin, Benjamin. “Constitutional Convention Address on Prayer.” June 28, 1787. 5. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/march-28-2023 March 28, 2023 Prayer Will Save America Today, I want to encourage you regarding the movement of prayer occurring here and around the world. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of American believers, are praying daily for our nation. Many more around the world also pray for America, knowing that we are the most powerful nation on earth, and that we stand for freedom and goodness. If America falls to tyranny, it’s the end of freedom for all. They also see the deterioration and loss of our strength, character, and wisdom - and they are concerned. God is raising up many good people in our land to fight in practical ways for our recovery, to reverse the progress of the leftists and progressives, awakening our nation from her slumber and delivering us from deception. HOWEVER, America moved from serious to critical condition some time ago, and is now on life support. She can no longer sustain or heal herself. No human effort, no amount of good laws, programs, or appropriate education can save us - we are too far gone. Only God can save America. President Trump’s tenure as President is an example of this. The vast majority of his ideas, policies, and ideas were sound. Because of this, great progress was made in a short amount of time. However, an evil political system, corrupt politicized agencies, dishonest media, and power-hungry globalists opposed him ruthlessly and incessantly. He and his policies were and are such a threat to them that they hate Trump with virulent hatred. And their level of entrenchment and control is such that they were able to remove him and install a cognitively challenged puppet, allowing them to rule behind the scenes. The result: all of the progress made under Trump was lost. Our borders are open, drugs and criminals are pouring in with millions of other people. We are weak on the world stage, and our military is under-supplied. Our economy is in shambles. We went from being energy independent to being dependent on our enemies. We promote godless perversion over morality and parental rights. And we could go on. The point? Only God, through a spiritual awakening, can bring sustained healing and recovery to America. And Yahweh’s salvation of a nation doesn’t result from Him simply choosing to suppress evil and send blessings. It occurs as hearts turn to Him, which brings a return to His Word and ways. This disempowers darkness and its control, releasing heaven’s blessing and wisdom, and delivers a nation from its insanity and deception. Only then will the good ideas work, and good people succeed. Prayer births these spiritual changes. Nothing else. That is why we must continue to pray. And we will! Numerous ministries and organizations have organized prayer efforts of their own, and much cross-pollination occurs. This prayer is saving America. Today, I’m highlighting one such ministry’s efforts, those of Clay and Susan Nash. Ceci and I have walked closely with Clay and Susan for several years and consider them not only colleagues, but friends. Clay has filled in for me here on GH15, and we minister together several times a year throughout the nation. Five years ago Holy Spirit instructed him to begin a daily prayer call, which has grown to thousands and has become very powerful. He, along with several other leaders regularly on the call, will be hosting a gathering in a few weeks to pray for America. I will be there, as well. Here is Clay’s summary of the prayer calls and information regarding this upcoming gathering: “In May of 2018, when I became aware of Justice Kennedy’s announcement to retire, I was flooded with the reality that we must have a conservative Justice to replace him. In prayer, God instructed me to start a weekly prayer call, and I did so. Brett Kavanaugh was nominated for this Supreme Court seat, and an intense battle began, which we were able to cover in prayer. During those prayer calls, we often had 4000 participants! “After that assignment, God instructed me to continue the prayer call DAILY - for the nation, for President Trump, and for the 2020 Election. During that season, the number of participants increased to between 6-7000 thousand a day, with more listening to the recordings. We named this call ‘The Josiah Company.’ “After the 2020 elections, it became clear that Holy Spirit was telling us - confirmed by many requests - to continue the daily calls, which we have done to this day. They are also recorded and transcribed. Hundreds join us live, and thousands of people listen to it or read the transcript later. The number needed to join the calls is 719.718.6038. The times when they take place are: • Mondays at 2:22pm ET • Tuesdays at 9:00pm ET • Wednesdays through Fridays at 2:22pm ET. “Over these five years, we have had well over 10,000 people join us on the calls. We’ve heard from thousands how they have grown in their understanding of prayer and authority. As we frequently add prophetic decrees to our prayers, many have learned from this and transitioned in their praying from priestly petitions only, to kingly decrees as well. An 83-year-old, who had functioned as an intercessor for many years, told me that after doing so she experienced more answers to prayer in 9 months than she had in several years. Others have referred to the calls as a ‘lifeline of hope.’ “In the fall of 2022, I received instructions to pray on the daily calls for all 50 states, one state per day for 50 days. We began doing so on February 20th and will finish on April 28th. This assignment has enjoyed great favor from Holy Spirit. From February 20th through March, we have experienced a minimum of 850 people a day on the call, some days increasing to almost 2000. Another 35,000 have listened to the recordings later to agree with us in prayer. “Over the past five years, many participants have asked me to host a national gathering through which many of them can come together for extended prayer, meet the hosts, and to also meet others from their state. I feel Holy Spirit is saying it is now time for this. We have scheduled the Josiah Company Convocation for April 20-22, 2023, in Conway, Arkansas, where we will pray over all 50 states, along with our nation in general. We will also operate prophetically and follow Holy Spirit’s leading. This gathering is NOT limited only to those who have participated on the calls. However, you MUST register in order to attend, as we can only accommodate 1000 people.” Registration for the gathering, along with all necessary information, is on Clay’s website ClayNash.org. If you have other questions, you can contact his assistant at Dawn@claynash.org. Join us if you can. And jump on the calls! Pray with me: Father, You have awakened many in Your church to the power of prayer. We have grown in our understanding of how to partner with You in releasing Your will and purposes on the earth. We have much to learn, but we are growing. Please continue fanning these flames. Stir a passion in many more to become involved, to invest more of their time in Kingdom causes. We pray for the various groups and networks of people involved in prayer. Give them understanding and wisdom, not only in how to pray, but also regarding what to pray. Encourage them. Remove all weariness or discouragement from the intercessors. Give them the funds and resources they need. Cause the right people to align with each group. Give all of us a heart to work together. Bless and prosper this convocation You have called Clay Nash to convene. Send those whom You want to be a part of it. Help us to be very strategic while there. And Father, we never want to miss an opportunity to call forth awakening, revival, and breakthrough in our land. Save us from evil, deliver us from evil people, strategies, and activities. We declare that evil will not prosper in our land. Send the fire of revival. Release power, signs and wonders. Encourage Your people, especially Your leaders, in this difficult time. We ask for these things in the name of Jesus. Our decree: We decree that prayer and intercession will rise to higher and higher levels in America and around the world. ******************* Again, the Prayer Call number is 719.718.6038. 6. 2 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-29-2022 December 29, 2022 I will be leading us in Communion today. If possible, pause your recording and/or reading and get some juice/wine and bread ready so you can join me. Communion is more than remembering and honoring; it is a declaration of, the release of, and celebration of victory! Hello! Thank you so much for participating with me in prayer each day! Ceci and I are slowing down a little during these last couple of weeks of 2022. I do so each year, taking time to focus on the coming year and listening to Holy Spirit’s words, insights, and assignments. However, with the critical assignment on the final quarter of 2022, I feel we must continue the communion and prayers aimed at ending Baal’s voice in America. Therefore, I have asked trusted leaders and friends to write prayers; I’ll read one each day and also lead in Communion. Though there won’t be a teaching, PLEASE join me daily for these strategic times of prayer. We must not let up - let’s finish well! Our friend, Jacquie Tyre, sent the following strong prayer. The title is: ________________________ Blessings Over the United States of America “Father, in the name of Jesus, we take our place of intercession over the United States of America. We plead the blood of Jesus over this land, humbly repenting and beseeching You to shower blessings over us, by Your mercy and kindness. “As Your Ekklesia, using the keys of the Kingdom (Matthew 16:19), we unlock the gates of life, loosing blessings that flow from Your throne. And, we lock the gates of death, binding up curses that have been unleashed across this land by our many sins, and by the evil actions of nefarious leaders who dare to mock You and Your covenant purposes. We are eternally grateful for Your Word that declares, "mercy triumphs over judgment" (James 2:13). “We choose this day to align with Your heart of love for America and to release words of blessings over her in Jesus' mighty name: “We bless our nation to fulfill Your original intent for her, walk in Your ways, turn away from evil and run toward righteousness, justice, and truth. “In Jesus' name, we decree over America, you are blessed to step into your identity as a nation set apart for God's purposes; you’re blessed to display the glory of God and advance the Gospel of the Kingdom to the nations of the world. “America, You are blessed to burn with the zeal and passion of God our righteous Father. “You are blessed to step into the most incredible move of Holy Spirit awakening and reformation the world has ever seen. “America, you are blessed to be a distributor of God's grace and glory! “We decree over the United States of America that God is for you and not against you; He loves you, and His face shines upon you, releasing great grace over you to be and do according to His divine purposes. “We bless you, United States of America, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.” Father, we seal these decrees with the covenant body and blood of Christ. They forever insure our victory. (Eat the bread) With the power of the blood of Jesus, we declare Baal’s hold over America is broken. (Drink the cup) ******************** You can find out more about Jacquie at JacquieTyre.com. 7. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/july-26-2022 July 26, 2022 A Force To Be Reckoned With God is actively preparing for the great coming harvest. He is fiercely determined. Some would have us believe He is finished moving on the earth, that the end of His activity on earth is here. This is not true. My brother, Tim, preached a powerful message recently declaring over and over a word from the Lord: “I’m not finished!” You can hear the entire message by using the link we have provided. Here is a portion of that message. ************ “The Apostle James was the brother of Jesus. He was the lead apostle of the first Ekklesia during the church’s first spiritual war season. James led the church through Herod’s government tyranny. He was a steady voice to all the other apostles throughout the book of Acts. James also led the Ekklesia in its first great revival, a move of God that changed the world. “In the Book of the Bible that bears his name, James made a statement that gives us a vital key to the success of the church then and now. Holy Spirit has said we’ve entered a season of spiritual war that will be very fierce, all the way through the midterm elections. The Ekklesia must engage in this by presenting themselves before the Lord in prayer, decrees and worship warfare. “James 5:16 (NKJV) says, ‘The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.’ He is very clear and succinct. In order to avail much, there must be increased prayer. To win spiritual battles there has to be an engagement in prayer. In the Amplified Translation, Classic Edition, a portion of this verse says: [Prayer] ‘makes tremendous power available and is dynamic in its working.’ The Message Bible says the prayer of a person right with God because of the blood of Jesus is ‘something powerful to be reckoned with.’ To see victorious results in this war season, we must pray with a force that hell will have to reckon with. “When the church prays, God promises He will engage with us. His entire Kingdom, including angel armies, will do so, releasing tremendous power. This is a power that binds hell’s princes and stops government tyranny, a power that raises people to seats of authority while removing others. Psalm 75:7 says, ‘He takes power from one and will give it to another.’ This is a part of what this war season is about - God taking power from those who have mocked and opposed Him. When the church prays, seats of power and authority change. God intends to give governing authority to those who will rule justly. Part of this war season also includes unseating demonic powers in the spiritual realm. As this occurs, the governmental landscapes will change. God has spoken prophetically that He is now going to hasten His word to perform it. We will see the dreams of our hearts - for ourselves, family and nation - come to pass. “Saint Augustine said, ‘Without God, we cannot. Without us, God cannot.’(1) We are in a special season in which we must partner with the living God through prayer. “Much is being said in today’s world that opposes God and His ways. In light of these current situations, it is vital that we hear from Him. I have been crying out to Holy Spirit, ‘Tell me what You’re saying!’ In response, a word the Lord gave me several years ago began rising up in me. The words burned like fire inside of me. I knew the Lord was declaring them into this current season of spiritual war. I believe this word is going to resound through Washington, DC, rattling the demonic babbling of his enemies. Settled law isn’t settled when God says otherwise. Here is what I heard Him say: “‘I said “It is finished,” not “I am finished.” I am NOT finished. I completed redemption for sins on the Cross, but I am not finished building My church. Its relevance will surely be seen, shutting the mouths of the naysayers. My church will be glorious, without spot or wrinkle, reigning in My Name. It will not be intimidated, scared, confused, bewildered, tepid or spineless. I have much to finish and I WILL finish it. “‘I’ve saved the best wine for your times, and I will now finish the release of outpouring. My power and anointing will be revealed in My manifest presence. The world will see My true power manifesting through My triumphant remnant. My glory will become demonstrably real in your times, from glory to glory to glory, just as I said. “‘I’m not finished! I’m not finished healing blind eyes, opening deaf ears, restoring damaged limbs, reaping the harvest, saving the lost, setting the oppressed free and delivering captives. I’m not finished saving Muslims and Hindus, penetrating the nations with My gospel, and delivering adulterers, alcoholics, and those addicted to drugs. I’m not finished healing those with gender confusion. And I’m not finished with abortion. I’m far from finished. “‘I’m not finished with America, with aligning the nations, and establishing My Kingdom on this earth…which means you’re not finished. My church, My Ekklesia, is not finished binding hell’s plans, standing for My Word and confronting demon doctrines, rebel governments, kings, dictators, presidents, judges and evil dignitaries that mock Me. My reigning church is not finished prevailing over the gates of hell. It’s not finished preaching the word of truth and prevailing over principalities, powers, mights and dominions. It’s not finished being salt and light, lighting up darkness, reversing evil laws, treading on demons, preaching hope and deliverance to captives, reaping My harvest of lost individuals, and discipling nations. “‘The activities of My church don’t stop when governments, presidents, governors, the Supreme Court, the IRS, media, professors or hireling shepherds say they must stop. They stop when I say they stop. And I say to My church, “You’re not done.” “‘You’re not finished and I’m not finished! Occupy until I come. Take care of My Kingdom business until I say you’re finished. Overcoming church, you are My reigning ones, called to these times. Rise in authority, rise in My power and rule in the midst of your enemies. Yes, redemption is finished, but I’m not finished. Salvation is finished, but you’re not finished. Focus on what I say and let that settle the issue.’” Tim then says, “In this war season, it is imperative to stay focused on what God says. We have to know what Holy Spirit is saying to the church, rather than focusing on what we see occurring around us. God’s Word WILL prevail and dynamic power WILL be activated as we pray what He says. “We must release what James called a force to be reckoned with. There must be a realization and determination in the Ekklesia that God isn’t finished. He will accomplish what He has said, and we are going to faithfully and determinedly pray it through.” Pray with me: Lord, let the voice of Your Ekklesia be clear and strong. Give us insight, strategy and wisdom to declare into this moment. Continue inspiring us to partner with You. The battle for America is not over! You are about to give us great victories. You are going to unseat demonic powers; they will not rule our nation. You are about to answer long-standing prayers and fulfill prophetic words. You are about to open the windows of heaven, releasing power to change things in ways we have never seen before. Holy Spirit, inspire our hearts to be engaged with You. We are warriors declaring Your truths and promises. We ask and declare these things in Jesus’ Name, amen. Our decree: God is not finished with the Ekklesia. We will be a force to be reckoned with. ******************* Today’s post was contributed by my brother, Tim Sheets. You can learn more about Tim here. 8. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/june-14-2022 June 14 ,2022 The Pathway to Grace and Mercy It remains a very sad mystery to me why many in the church think it is unimportant to involve themselves in the process of government. Most of them do not even pray for our nation or government. It is also sad when they rationalize decisions to vote for people who oppose the ways and commandments of God. I have still not quite figured out how a dislike of “mean tweets” and an outspoken, sometimes brash, personality carries more weight than the lives of millions of babies. I don’t suppose I ever will. The plight of unborn babies, i.e. abortion, is rarely thought of by most Christians and never mentioned in most churches. It’s been going on so long now they’ve gotten used to the idea. For some - Millennials and Gen Z - abortion has been legal for their entire lifetimes. America is facing unprecedented crises, perhaps in part due to the open door caused by abortion. We have an inept and corrupt government that continues to weaken and march us toward the godlessness and the insanity of socialism. In a recent article titled “The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight,” Larry Tomczak lists 10 failures of the current administration. Here are six of them: “Entering office, Biden pledged with lofty rhetoric to unify us but has divided us in a way not seen since the Civil War era. $163 billion of our taxpayer federal pandemic aid has been lost to fraud (Labor Department) because of incompetent oversight and lack of proper accountability. Our southern border crisis escalates daily endangering our national security as 2,000,000 illegal immigrants, some of whom are drug traffickers, criminals, sexual predators, kidnappers, prisoners, and terrorists (43 on our ‘watchlist’) have poured into our country. The cartels supply gangs with fentanyl which resulted in 107,000 deaths in 2021 and skyrocketing gang-related violent crime in our cities. As a professing Catholic, Joe Biden has hypocritically and aggressively championed the most radical abortion position in US history, celebrating the extermination of unborn babies so that at any time, for any reason up until the moment of birth, developing infants can be killed. Inflation, gas prices, interest rates, goods and services, stock market, national debt, savings accounts 401 (k)s, supply chains (baby formula), our entire economy…all are shaking violently while Biden blames the Virus and Putin, seemingly clueless as to the severity of what’s happening and worsening. Like the Carter years, this was preventable as we were prospering during the past administration with 1.4% inflation and gas prices averaging $2.56. From day one Biden capitulated to Green New Deal zealots, stopped the XL Pipeline, and instituted regulations on the energy industry causing disastrous consequences by violating basic laws of supply and demand. Biden’s reckless and disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan remains one of the low points in our history. Our state-of-the-art airbase and $80 billion of sophisticated equipment were handed to a gleeful Taliban (now reconstituting with ISIS, committed to destroying the ‘infidels’ of America.”(1) America desperately needs revival, along with abounding grace and mercy. I believe we will receive these gifts. Prayer is the pathway to them. Intercessors For America (IFA) hosts daily prayer calls to do just that; this week they will be highlighting the upcoming Dobbs abortion decision. Quoting IFA: “Join us Monday through Friday to pray together at 12:15 pm ET for all things related to this Supreme Court decision. Join us to pray daily until the decision is rendered and announced. Then we will shift our prayer strategy for the next phase of the spiritual battle for life--in the states. Prayer kicks off on Tuesday, June 14th at 12:15 pm ET. Call in to pray (667) 771-7910, code 2452#”.(2) For today’s prayer, I am using one sent me by a GH15 participant, Robin Lorenzen. Holy Spirit gave her the prayer, compiled from the scriptures, 20 years ago. It is strong and encouraging. Join me as we pray it now. Pray with me: “Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We lift the United States of America up to You and stand in the gap for her before You. We repent for the willingness of our leaders to see her fall. We repent for ourselves, America’s citizens, for not having been vigilant to guard the gift You gave us. In the Name of Jesus Christ, we call those sins our own, we bring them to the Cross, and ask You to remove them from us and from this land. According to Your Word, we speak this word over the United States of America: “Lord, we have heard of Your fame; we stand in awe of Your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath, remember mercy. “Then the word of the Lord came to me: ‘If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. And whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered and saved. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. “‘Instead of the tyranny of the present, I will appoint peace as your officers and righteousness as your taskmasters. Violence shall no more be heard in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders, but you shall call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. Your people also shall all be uncompromisingly and consistently righteous; they shall possess the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. “‘Instead of your former shame, you shall have a twofold recompense; instead of dishonor and reproach, your people shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore, in their land they shall possess double what they had forfeited; everlasting joy shall be theirs. For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong. I will faithfully give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with them. And you shall know, understand, and realize that I am in the midst of [you] and that I the Lord am your God and there is none other. My people shall never be put to shame.’ “Listen, O heavens, and we will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. We will proclaim the name of the Lord. Oh, praise the greatness of God! He is the Rock. His words are perfect, and all of His ways are just. 9. TODAY is NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER "The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation as it enables us to recall and to teach the way in which our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning." -National Day of Prayer Committee. In order to be unified with millions of believers around the nation, for today’s post I am using the statement, guide, and prayer provided by the National Day of Prayer Committee. I have added a paragraph at the end of their prayer for the Supreme Court and the pending Dobbs verdict. This recorded version of the post will be intentionally shorter. I am encouraging you to use the guide/suggestions to pray individually, and to join either the National Day of Prayer or Intercessors For America in their prayers today. I feel it is significant that as many people as possible agree together in prayer today. The links to do this are provided for you at the end of our prayer. "The National Day of Prayer has great significance for us as a nation as it enables us to recall and to teach the way in which our founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. WHY PRAY FOR AMERICA? “God is sovereign and nothing comes as a surprise to Him. Whether we face fluctuating economics, threats from abroad, unrest at home, or other troubling circumstances, our Heavenly Father is not caught unaware. Through prayer, we are able to tap into His wisdom, strength, protection, and peace. He stands ready to respond to our needs when we humbly ask for divine intervention in the affairs of men. “As we Pray for America, whose pledge of allegiance recounts that we are ‘one nation under God,’ and whose currency states that it is ‘in God we trust,’ we want Americans to encounter the God who rules over their country. ‘He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth—the LORD God Almighty is His name.’ (Amos 4:13; NIV) “He is the One who gave us this promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: ‘If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ As we humbly and diligently seek Him, we’ll be changed, and we’ll see transformation in America through prayer! HOW TO PRAY FOR AMERICA - BY PRAYING INTO SEVEN CENTERS OF INFLUENCE IN OUR NATION (You can use National Day of Prayer’s guide to prayer on your own.) We are filled with awe and wonder as our praise joins the heavenly hosts saying, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.’ You have established Your throne in heaven and the foundations of the earth. You alone are the Creator; the earth is Yours and all it contains is for Your glory. You created and established all of us as Your image-bearers. May our lips and lives continually praise You, reflecting and magnifying You in all our words and ways. “You are the author of our days, You have established Your plans and purposes for us. We respond toYour glory and authority in obedience to Your Word and will. You have established prayer that we, Your children, can communicate with You, our Heavenly Father, directing, strengthening, and discipling us in Your everlasting love. We join heaven’s activities as we lift up our prayers And pour out our praise, repentance, thanks, intercession, and supplication. “Lord, You have established America through the hearts of our founding fathers and the documents they penned declaring our dependence on Your sovereignty and supremacy. We pray for America: the Church, Family, Education, Military, Workplace, Government, Arts, Entertainment and Media. United in Your love, we exalt the Lord who has established us. “We overflow with gratitude having been firmly rooted and built up in our faith in You. Let our reputation be of our faith in Christ alone, our love for all people, and fruitful lives bearing the attitude, affections, and actions of Your Spirit, who dwells and works within us and through us. In Jesus' Name, we always pray, Amen!” (Prayer written by Kathy Branzell, President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force) (Dutch’s addition) And Father, we stand in agreement for the finishing of Roe’s evil reign. We decree that satan’s attempt to alter Your timing and declared will (Daniel 7:25), through the leak from the Supreme Court, will fail. We bind it in Christ’s name. Cleanse our land from the bloodshed of 63 million innocent babies. Our faith is that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from ALL sin and unrighteousness. Apply it now we pray, and heal our land. And deliver us from evil leaders who have no regard for the lives of pre-born babies. And finally, send a revival to America with such force that it changes the hearts of tens of millions of Americans. Draw us back to You! In Christ’s authority, we pray. Amen. ******************* There are a couple of live prayer times you can participate in today with the National Day of Prayer Committee or Intercessors for America. 11. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/january-26-2022 January 26, 2022 This Is Not a Fad - It’s a Movement At the end of 2013, I realized I was ending a 13-year spiritual journey. It started during a prayer and ended with a flag. An old and forgotten flag; forgotten by everyone, it seems, except God. He had evidently kept this banner in hiding for a couple of centuries, waiting in the wings of history until He was ready to re-introduce it. This flag now hangs in thousands of homes, prayer rooms, sanctuaries, government buildings, and even businesses. A church in Indiana made their own version - 15‘ x 30‘ - then made me one! Another congregation decorated the Christmas tree in their foyer with dozens of small flags. Thousands of people have small ones tucked in their Bibles, tacked to bulletin boards, or conspicuously sitting on their desks. Others display them as lapel pins, wear them emblazoned on shirts, show them off on bumper stickers, and at least one person has the flag tattooed on his arm! Governors display the flag, as do judges and members of Congress, and one was spotted in the U.S. Capitol. Another was recently flown over the Capitol of Arkansas. The other day I was surprised to even see one streaming behind an 18-wheeler; it has gone viral! The flag is associated with America’s founding, to be sure. It seems that God doesn’t intend it to be used by America alone, however. On this book’s cover, it can be seen flying in the Himalayas - the highest point on the planet - where it is raised above dozens of Buddhist prayer flags. It has flown on the plains of Nineveh (the place of the first region-transforming revival) the North and South Poles, in South Africa, Panama, and more recently in Cambodia where it was used in prayers against human trafficking. Who knows where it will turn up next?! This international use seems especially appropriate, given America’s God-given destiny of being a spiritual light to the nations. In times past, flags carried more weight than they do in our present day. Their symbolism was understood, from the color to the design, enabling a flag to tell a story or make a strong statement. Many flags are sacred - people swear allegiance to them and die to protect their honor. Banners, as they are also called, we’re often intended to make declarations. One early colonial American flag had a picture of a coiled snake with the accompanying phrase, “Don’t Tread On Me.” It was a warning to Great Britain: “Be careful; step on us, and we strike!” This journey of mine involves a different flag in America’s past, one that is especially relevant to our God-given purpose and destiny. Modern-day progressives, historical revisionists, liberal politicians, and humanistic professors scoff at the notion that America was established by God for a divine purpose. They also mock the assertion that our Founders believed in and honored this divine-human partnership. However, Yahweh, the God of the Bible, was indeed involved in America’s founding and He did so for His purposes. When General George Washington commissioned the Appeal to Heaven flag to fly over our naval ships in the Revolutionary War, little did he know that 240 years later, God would ordain that it fly again. This time around, however, it wouldn’t fly over a fledgling nation being born, but over the most powerful nation in the world being reborn. This rebirth isn’t literal, of course, but is a spiritual and moral renewal that will resurrect America’s God-given calling, purpose, and greatness. It must, indeed, be acknowledged that America’s populace is now filled with great apathy toward its history. It is also true that we are so ignorant of the ideals that shaped our identity as a nation that we have lost our national moorings. God’s intent is that history be more than information; the past can be an important anchor. Without this stabilizing force, however, America is now adrift in a sea of secular experientialism, blown about by the wanderings of our own fantasies and the delirium they create. Truly, America’s independence from God has left us spiritually and morally bankrupt. She is experiencing a continuous drift from greatness to mediocrity and, unfortunately, becoming increasingly irrelevant around the world. With such a dire diagnosis why, then, am I not hopeless? In the days of the flag’s genesis, the American colonists had no chance of winning a war with the world’s greatest empire, Great Britain. Yet, when those ill-prepared and poorly equipped revolutionaries appealed for assistance to the Giver of inalienable rights, the tide turned. When they agreed to come under God’s governance and honor His ways, He who “governs in the affairs of men,” as Ben Franklin stated at the Constitutional Convention, did just that. Affirming the Lord‘s governing intervention, Franklin also said, “All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor.” (1) Even some of our founders who were not strong Christians, such as Franklin, acknowledged God‘s providential hand in our victory. That same “superintending providence” is available today. In spite of our many flaws and numerous failures, God‘s hand has been, and remains, on America; of this I am sure. From the first man, Adam, to the Apostle Paul, history has proven that God uses imperfect people. The same is certainly true of nations. Though America is scarred and flawed, we still possess a divine purpose. Rest assured, the Sovereign who bestowed that purpose to America knows how to resurrect it. As you read this book, my prayer is that you will be awakened to hope. Hope is to the heart what seeds are to the earth. Without hope, life is sterile, unfruitful - dreams aren’t conceived and destinies aren’t realized. Hope is the starting line, the launch pad; it’s the seedbed from which faith springs up, and a creative force that keeps the soul dreaming. Without a doubt, the reemergence of this flag is intended by God to awaken hope. Let it be said of our generation that when a nation teetered on the edge of destruction, having lost the ancient path of truth, we answered the divine call to war for its restoration. Let it be said of us, as it was of our forefathers, that in the face of overwhelming odds we took our stand in the celestial courtroom, appealing to the Judge of all the earth for His saving grace, mercy, and sustaining power. Join the movement - appeal to heaven! Pray with me: Father, as surely as You raised up this nation, You will restore this nation. Our faith is not in our goodness or self-righteousness; it is in Your heart to redeem and restore. And it is in the blood of Jesus. Not only do You want to restore America, You want to use her to see many nations experience Your love and redeeming power. When our nation was formed our Founders appealed to You for justice and victory; they even put it on a flag and flew it over ships and battlefields. You have brought this flag to the forefront again, to use it as a reminder and a rallying cry. It reminds us that our hope is in You, and You alone. We appeal to You for the salvation of America. And we declare, in response to Your prophetic words and dreams regarding our nation, “America shall be saved!” We appeal to You for an unprecedented revival. We appeal to You for millions of salvations. We appeal for incredible deliverances to occur. We appeal for the healing of marriages. We appeal for our young generation to be introduced to You in extraordinary ways. We appeal to You for a changed government. We appeal to You to transform our education system. And we appeal to You for a worldwide revival that will save hundreds of millions of people spiritually, and even physically. And we ask and declare all of this in the wonderful name of Jesus, Amen. Our decree: We decree that the God who birthed America will now rebirth America. ******************************* Today’s post was taken from my book An Appeal to Heaven. 12. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/january-25-2022 January 25, 2022 Our Roots Are Alive Liberals in government, education, and media attempt to revise America’s history - except, of course, when it supports their cause. One of their most famous revisions is the “separation of church and state” myth, which they have dishonestly used for decades. The “wall of separation” phrase was used by Thomas Jefferson in a letter, not in the Constitution. He was assuring denominational leaders that our government would never be controlled by one religious group (as had been the case in England), nor would government have the right to control the church (as also occurred in Britain). NEVER was it implied by our founders that God and religion were to be prohibited from influencing government, education, or public life. Nor is it true that government money (which is really ours!) or public facilities were to be prevented from use by the church. These are all lies designed to remove the influence of God from our nation. It may surprise you that the man who wrote the phrase, “wall of separation”, (Thomas Jefferson) attended a church service in the Capitol 2 days later! (1) Numerous presidents and members of Congress attended church services there - for decades! - including John Quincy Adams, James Madison, Lincoln and others. Adams explained why he attended: “I consider it as one of my public duties - as a representative of the people - to give my attendance every Sunday morning when Divine service is performed in the Hall.”(2)The Rostrum of the House Speaker was used as the pulpit, and Congress purchased the hymnals! I realize you probably weren’t taught this in our public school system, which now propagandizes and revises history, but it is true. Actually, the Capitol was used for church services before ever being used by Congress. Approved December 4, 1800, by both the House and Senate, (3) services began before the entire Capitol was completed and Congress itself could move in. Jefferson, as Vice President at the time and therefore leader of the Senate, approved it on behalf of the Senate. He attended the services for years, throughout his time as Vice President and President, (4) had a designated seat, (5) and was so committed to it he even made the journey in inclement weather. (6) Services first began to be held in the north wing of the Capitol, moved to Statuary Hall as they grew in number, and eventually landed in the House Chamber. It was, in fact, the first official use of the Chamber on December 13, 1857, with as many as 2000 people in attendance! (7) Services were interdenominational, speakers were local pastors or the House and Senate Chaplains, (8) and included women (9) and blacks. (10) Some churches were actually allowed to use it as their meeting place until they procured other buildings. (11) And when needed, the Supreme Court Chamber, then in the Capitol building, was also used! (12,13) How ironic is that! Don’t allow the lies of politicians and educators to deceive you. Our Founders were God-honoring and God-fearing men and women and were guided by Judeo-Christian ethics. 106 of the first 108 colleges in America, including the Ivy League colleges, were Christian. We must never accept the efforts of the left to steal our godly roots. Pray and decree with me: Father, Nehemiah told Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem, those trying to stop him from rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, they had “no historical right” or “claim” to Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:20; NIV and Expanded Bible). We echo those words today regarding those who want to transform America into a non-Christian nation: they have no covenantal, historical right to America. You, who own all the earth, raised up America for Your purposes. We stand in Your authority and decree that we forbid this to be stolen. And though we have previously lost ground in this spiritual war, You have told us America shall be saved. Your mercies endure forever, and we ask now for this never-ending mercy to be extended. We overthrow, in the all-powerful name of Jesus, the forces of darkness trying to disconnect America from her Christian roots. We declare that the systems and groups these forces are using will be unsuccessful in every way, and that many from within them will come to Christ. We declare with our Founders that America has “no King but Jesus,” and will serve no other gods. We declare that our roots are still alive and will once again bring forth the fruits Holy Spirit intends America to produce. We will experience a turnaround comparable to the great restorations of Israel. We declare that we will be a light and blessing to the nations of the earth. And we pray now for complete deliverance from the principalities and powers, led by Baal, who have orchestrated America’s spiritual decline. We ask You, Father, to do as You spoke in the World Seers Series dream and destroy the voice of Baal-Zephon in America. You began a concerted effort in 2007 to deliver us from this spirit and restore us to covenant with You, and we ask for this to now be brought to conclusion. Full victory. One hundred percent. Deliver us from Baal and his coworkers. We ask for victory in the Dobbs abortion case being decided now by the Supreme Court. We ask You to speak loudly and clearly to 5 or more Justices, motivating them to vote for the overturning of Roe versus Wade. End this hideous child-sacrifice system in America. And please heal all who experience grief, shame, and physical damage from having been involved. Prepare the church for our role when this law ends. May we be ready to take the unwanted children and give them loving homes and families. Bring about an amazing and unprecedented movement of adoption in America. Father, we thank You in advance for the great revival that is beginning. We thank You for millions of people coming to know You in this nation, and hundreds of millions around the world. We thank You for the incredible revival coming to the campuses of America and the world. Thank you for saving a generation from the strongholds of humanism, rebellion, drugs, immorality, gender confusion, and more. May they taste and see just how good You are. May they fall in love with Your Word and become acquainted with Your ways. We ask You to continue to transform the church. Mature us into the glorious church You spoke of in scripture. Build the Ekklesia You promised to build that cannot be overcome by the plans and government of hell. Bring revelation of our strength in You. Show us, the members of Your church, that we are more than conquerors, are overcomers, and can do all things You ask us to do through Your mighty power. We ask and decree all of this in the all-powerful name of Jesus. Amen. ******************************* Click on the link below to watch the full video. ______________ William Parker Cutler and Julia Perkins Cutler, Life, Journal, and Correspondence of Rev. 13. 4 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/january-20-2022 January 20, 2022 Prayer for America in 2022 (from Intercessors for America) One of the things I like to do here at Give Him 15 is partner with other great ministries, especially those that emphasize prayer. Intercessors for America is one of those ministries; we have included reports and prayers released by them in the past. They have written a great prayer we can pray for America throughout 2022. In a moment, we will pray it together. Check out IFA’s website: IFApray.org (or click here). Sign up to be part of their free membership list - they regularly release very helpful information and prayers you can agree with. If you can, send them a donation; they are good soil. Romans 13:7 tells us to “render to all what is due them…honor to whom honor.” “Due” is from a Greek word meaning “indebtedness;” figuratively it means “an obligation or duty.” IFA has been leading the charge for intercession in our nation since 1973, almost 50 years. Certainly, we all owe them a debt of honor and gratitude. The word honor in this verse means “value, money, esteem, dignity” and more. Today, we honor this great ministry for the work they do. Let’s pray this prayer for America together with them: ************************************** “Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus’ name. Father God, we love You. We depend on You and on Your faithfulness, even when things look dark around us and we cannot see light ahead. “Father, thank You for being the Light of all men. Jesus, thank You for being the Light that shines in the darkness. Thank You for being the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And Holy Spirit, thank You for shining Your illuminating light in our hearts, that we may see Jesus and cry out ‘Abba! Father’ through You and Your power. “Father God, in Jesus’ name, we lift our beloved nation up to You today. Father, we pray over the USA in 2022: That she will know peace - the true peace which passes all understanding; the peace that can only be found in Christ Jesus. That she will know joy - the true joy that is only found in the presence of God. That she will know wisdom - the wisdom from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, undefiled, willing to yield to You and full of mercy and good fruit. “Father God, I ask today in Jesus’ name that You would bless kings and those who are in authority. We acknowledge today that the ‘kings’ and ‘people who are in authority’ may or may not be two different groups of people, Lord; but we pray that You would shower them all with Your goodness, which brings men to repentance. “Father, for those leaders and workers in government who may yet be saved, we ask that You would pour out Your Spirit of salvation upon them. “From the President to the humblest, most unknown worker in the land, let them cry out to You for mercy and salvation. And Father, for those who refuse to be saved and refuse to honor You and walk in righteousness and justice, we pray that their days in office would be few and that another would take their office, according to Your will and Your plans only, Lord. “Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name, we ask that revival would fall on America in 2022. We ask that Christians would rise up and preach Jesus in the streets. We ask that churches would be filled again with people who are being saved. We pray that You would give us, Your servants, boldness to preach and speak as we ought to speak. “Father, we ask also that You would protect these United States of America in 2022. Protect her people, her supply chain, her economy, her food sources, her ports, her airspace, her military, her government, her cities, her villages, her schools, her shopping malls, airports, and every other facility. Protect our Constitution and Bill of Rights, Father. Protect the integrity of our Supreme Court, for we acknowledge that even though the Court is called ‘Supreme,’ YOU are actually the Supreme Being and You rule over all as You will. “O holy Father, we need You. We need You to give life to our nation again. “Heal and restore our economy. Protect and bring justice to our elections. Repair our health care system and set it aright. Heal our military. “We pray against every false theology and ideology, which are idolatry, and in Jesus’ name we cast them down in America right now: We decree and declare that 2022 will be the year in which America and Americans and every stranger within the gates will WAKE UP and see the light of Jesus Christ shining upon them. We declare and decree that 2022 is the year in which we shall ALL know the truth, and the truth shall make us free. We decree that LIFE shall prevail in 2022, and that every murderous intent of every person disposed to evil IS cast down now and replaced with the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. We declare that there shall be an end to control and manipulation in 2022, and that FREEDOM would ring out again from even the dirt and stones of our nation. And we declare and decree that the truth of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, shall run swiftly from border to border; from lakeshore to gulfshore; and from sea to shining sea - and that all the people in our great nation would no longer be deceived, but would be filled with Your Spirit as You pour out Your Spirit upon all flesh. “Father God, there may be much darkness around us, but YOU shine through the darkness. “You have done much in 2021 and prior years to right many wrongs in our nation. We praise You for that, and we thank You. And in 2022, Father, we humbly ask You to bless us and heal our land. Turn Your people back to You, and do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever dare to ask, hope, or think. Show up, Lord, and do the great and the mighty for us in the USA this year. “Thank You, Abba Father. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, amen and amen.” (1) *************************** Click on the link below to watch the full video. _____________________________________________ https://ifapray.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/NEW-Prayer-for-America-2022-PRAYER-GUIDE.pdf
  14. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-15-2021 December 15, 2021 The Key to Victory As we pray together and partake of communion regarding the nation, I want to share parts of a dream with you which I believe is timely and pertinent. It was actually given to our friend Gina Gholston on December 5, the day the recent 21 days of prayer and communion began. The dream contains another Isaiah 40 reference. (I have received 8 or more dreams within the last several months with Isaiah 40 references. The chapter is about John the Baptist preparing the way for Christ and then Christ’s earthly ministry.) The dream also refers to breaking bread and eating it, which of course, we are part of the 21-day strategy. And finally, the dream references the song, The Battle Hymn of the Republic. On back-to-back days, this song was brought to my attention: once in a public service, the other through this dream. It was written and sung by soldiers during the Civil War, and speaks of the Lord’s victory. Gina says: “December 5, 2021, I dreamed that Dutch Sheets, his wife, Ceci, and I were in a very old, two-story warehouse type building. It sat on the edge of a river, and on the first floor there was a working grist mill, with a large water-wheel being turned by the flow of the river. This mill was being used to process flour for a bakery operating on the top floor of the building. “In the bakery, there were various workstations situated around the open room. At each station, there was an oven, a sink, long counters, and shelves filled with baking utensils, multiple baking pans, and baking sheet pans. Each station contained a lady baking breads, cakes, and pastries. “As we entered the bakery, each was standing beside the counter at their individual station, with a display of some of their baked goods. There was another individual with Dutch, Ceci, and me as we walked from station to station. We were there to ‘choose’ an item we needed from this bakery. We knew the individual walking with us was an angel, there to guide and help us choose the correct item. “We had visited many of the stations in the room, greeting each lady and complimenting her work. As we stood at one counter, the baker was holding a small, single-layer cake as if to present it to Dutch. It was a small, simple cake with no decorations, just icing on top. The angel behind Dutch placed its hand on Dutch’s right elbow, and pushed his arm forward to receive this little cake. The angel said, ‘Take and eat.’ So, Dutch received the cake and the angel instructed him to ‘break the cake first,’ then eat it. “Dutch, using both of his hands, broke the cake open, and found that a small key had been baked inside it. We looked at each other in amazement, and Dutch held up the key. We could see that inscribed on it was ‘Isaiah 40:5.’ The angel then said to Dutch, ‘There’s another door that must be opened.’ “Dutch asked, ‘How will I know where the door is located?’ “All the angel said was, ‘It’s American made.’ “When the angel said that, music began playing. I don’t know where it was coming from, but it began filling the room. As the music played, Dutch fell to his knees and began singing the words of the song playing: ‘Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord…’ It was the Battle Hymn of the Republic, and he sang the entire song with tears streaming down his face. It was as if electricity was going through the room as we felt the presence of the Lord. “After singing the entire song, Dutch stopped singing, but the music continued to play in the background. “The angel then instructed Dutch to eat the small cake that was still in his right hand. He ate the cake and said, ‘Wow! This is RICH with honey!’ Then his eyes just lit up, and we knew Dutch had received immediate strength. “The angel said, ‘This will keep you strong for the journey ahead.’ “Dutch was still holding the key that had been inside the cake. The angel pointed to it and said, ‘You will know what to do with the key.’ “The music was still playing, and at this point, Dutch again began singing the words of the song.” End of dream. *************************** The song, Battle Hymn of the Republic, obviously speaks of battle/war, but also to the Lord’s victory. Isaiah 40 references both, as well, the victory beginning in verse 5 with the Lord’s appearance: “Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (NASV). Just as He did many Christmases ago, Christ will once again come to a troubled and tumultuous world; and also just as He did then, He will prevail. His glory will be released and salvation will come to many. The appearance of the key in the dream, with this reference Isaiah 40:5 written on it - discovered in the breaking of the bread - says several things to us. Christ WILL be revealed again in our day! (Isaiah 40:5) I am referencing the coming revival, not the Second Coming of Christ. Christ being revealed is the “key” to victory. This key will be found/given through our honoring of covenant with Christ (the breaking of the bread). It is important that we realize we must fulfill the preparatory role John fulfilled in Isaiah 40. We are Christ’s forerunners, preparing the way. Our repentance, prayers and honoring of covenant with Him are all ways in which we do this. The covenant meal - communion - which we are partaking of during this 21 days of prayer and which is pictured in the dream (“take and eat…break the cake first”), is accomplishing this. In the account of the resurrected Christ’s visit with the two men on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35), His true identity was eventually revealed to them in the breaking of the bread (verses 30-31). I believe Holy Spirit is saying that our prayers and honoring of covenant through the breaking of the bread are causing Isaiah 40:5 - Christ is being revealed - here and around the world. I also believe our honoring of covenant with Christ during this 21 days is more than a preparatory act of intercession, but is also giving us strength for future battles, as was spoken in the dream. Our warfare will not be finished after the 21 days. I know there is further revelation to come from this dream. But from just these insights we can glean encouragement that our prayers and communion during these 21 days are having an impact. Again, notice that the dream was given December 5, the day the 21 days began (read our GH15 post from December 8th). Take heart and continue to be faithful. Pray with me: Father, thank You for speaking to us prophetically, encouraging us to continue our prayer and communion efforts. We thank You for Christ, our victory. We thank You for Isaiah 40 and the incredible picture it brings us of our Deliverer, Christ. We thank You for our covenant with Him, both individually and as a nation. We honor this covenant as our key to victory. We pledge allegiance to You and Your purposes for America. We thank You in advance for delivering us from the great evil of abortion. Thank You for breaking our alliance with the principality, Baal, who demands blood sacrifices. Free us from this scourge and cleanse our land we pray, just as You cleansed us from slavery in the days of our Civil War. We also pray for those so devastated by the tornadoes in Kentucky, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Our hearts break for them. Please comfort those who have lost family members, and restore hope to those who have lost so much. May strength to face the future and rebuild be poured out on them, and may the nation rally to help those impacted. In Christ’s name we ask, Amen. Our decree: We decree that our faith stands on the blood of Christ and His new covenant with us, nothing else. This is our key to victory. ********************************** You can sign up to participate in the 21 days of prayer and fasting here or at TheBriefing.us. 15. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-10-2021 December 10, 2021 A Radical Obedience to An Extreme Assignment I want to prepare you now for Monday’s post (12/13/21). I have been asked to teach some and lead in communion as we join the ministries of Lou Engle (TheBriefing.us) and Matt Lockett (JHOPDC.com) in prayer and communion regarding the current Supreme Court case. So, on Monday, have your bread and wine (or juice) ready when you read (or listen to) that day’s post. ________________________ God sometimes leads individuals to do extraordinary things as spiritual signs and intercessory acts. Moses stretched his rod over the Red Sea, causing it to roll back; Elisha struck the Jordan River with Elijah’s mantle, causing it to likewise roll back. And tomorrow, John Halversen completes his fourth walk across America! His wife, Sandy, shares some of John’s amazing story: “On December 11th in Seattle, Pastor John Halvorsen completes his 4th Prayer Walk across America, He began prayer walking early in his Christian life because he found himself dozing off while praying in a cozy chair. Soon the Lord began challenging him to expand the areas he walked through, until he was walking across entire nations and continents as ‘prophetic acts’, proclaiming that ‘GOD WANTS HIS WORLD BACK!’ “Prayer Walk America #1 was birthed in 1996, while we were missionaries in Ireland. The power of God came so strongly upon John while out for coffee, that the physical shaking he was experiencing sent him into the men’s room where he cried out to God, ‘Send me back to America!’ Back in Minnesota, while walking and praying through the ‘Mall of America’, Genesis 13:17 became a literal word from the Lord for John: ‘Arise, walk through the land, the length and breadth of it, for I will give it to you.’ As with all unusual divine guidance, John submitted it to his trusted mentor, friends and family, received the green light, and to this day has not been told to stop! “John’s first walk began on the first day of the Jewish new year, Rosh Hashanah, September 21, 1998, with a strong prophetic unction to proclaim that a ‘Season of Trouble’ was coming to America. He walked from the Canadian border in Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico, along US-61, the Great River Road, following the course of the Mississippi River. His message was broadcast through secular and Christian media all across America, ‘Tumultuous times are coming, we must repent and pray as never before.’ As the Mississippi River was first named ‘Rio De Espiritu Santo’, the ‘River of the Holy Spirit’, and was fiercely contended over during the American Civil War, the intense prayer battle accompanying that walk was over the ‘Free flow of the Holy Spirit’ through the Church. The second American prayer walk was soon birthed. The Lord simply said, ‘You know you aren’t done.’ John knew that a west to east route, the reverse of the routes of exploration, was God’s plan, so on Easter Day of 1999, he began walking in Newport, Oregon, and finished in November at ‘Rehoboth’ Beach, Delaware. Although the Clinton era of ‘Peace and Prosperity’ was in full sway, John continued to proclaim the need for renewed prayer and repentance and that ‘Tumultuous times’ were coming. Also, the prayer focus was on the re-opening of past wells of revival as in Genesis 26:18-22, which ended in victory at the well of Rehoboth. “‘Tumultuous Times’ came to America indeed, on September 11, 2001. We experienced the 9/11 attacks and America’s ‘Season of Trouble’ had begun. “While flying over Europe early in 2008 and gazing down at the Pyrenees Mountains, John knew he must walk again, this time the ancient ‘Crusader’ and ‘Silk Road’ routes, from Portugal to China. Organizing all the details for the two-year walk happened quickly and by November ‘08 we were on our way to Cabo da Roca, Portugal to begin the long prayer journey, which ended 6,000 miles later in Almaty, Kazakhstan, near the Chinese border. Many stories can be told of the challenges and spiritual warfare encountered on the trek through Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and then the train journey through China to Shanghai. John’s prophetic sense was that the Lord of Glory is going to burst through the rusted, bolted gates of these post-Christian, Communist, and Muslim cultures, bringing an ‘End of ancient hostility’ to the Gospel, in unprecedented Revival! “In 2015 the Lord told John to “take the ‘Appeal to Heaven’ flag to the North Pole and then get to the South Pole as soon as possible.” He discovered that joining an expedition to each pole was the only way to get there, that the North Pole would require $35,000 and the South Pole a jaw-dropping $50,000! Miraculously, for each trip the money came in at the last minute, as is often God’s way, through ‘appealing to heaven,’ not ‘appealing to man’. God pays for what He orders! “A Russian nuclear-powered icebreaker took a week to crunch through the polar ice to arrive at the North Pole in June 2016. Then in November, 2017 a Russian transport plane got him to Antarctica, and a small prop plane to the actual South Pole. In both cases, he unfurled the ‘Appeal to Heaven’ flag and proclaimed the Gospel, as a witness that the Good News has reached the extreme ‘Ends of the Earth’, and to appeal to heaven for global awakening. “In early 2018 the Lord spoke, ‘Are you willing to walk America again?’ “Why Lord? I’ve already done it twice!” “Because America needs a third awakening!” came the answer. John knew this time he would walk a diagonal along Route 66 and the Lincoln Highway, from LA to NYC, beginning on Halloween 2018. Why? To reverse the curse in our nation. He sensed that although America deserves judgment, he was pulling a cord of mercy and that God would grant mercy if His people would enter into deep repentance and prayer. “While visiting Israel after this third prophetic walk across the nation, a van drove past, emblazoned with the words, ‘Johnny Walker, Keep on Walking.’ It was the slogan the Lord had often used to let John know he had a new assignment. ‘Do I walk Israel next?’ he wondered. But it soon became clear that Miami to Seattle was what the Lord had in mind, another diagonal route that completed an X over the nation. So on February 5, 2021, this current walk began in Miami and will finish on December 11 [tomorrow] in Seattle. John has battled extreme spiritual warfare on this walk as he contends for awakening for America, and senses again that he is pulling a cord of mercy. But this time, he believes that at the walk’s end, the cord will be plugged into a power outlet and God’s awakening power will flow. “John feels that all these prophetic walks are connected. The ‘free flow of the Holy Spirit’ through the church...the opening of past wells of revival...overcoming hostility to the Gospel...reversing the curse...the release of God’s mercy and His power cord plugged in. John believes we are about to see the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit ever witnessed throughout the world and to the extreme ends of the earth! “His next prayer walk? John is asking the Lord about Israel. “GOD WANTS HIS WORLD BACK, and WE PROCLAIM HE WILL RECEIVE IT..! IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME..!!” Pray with me: Father, we thank You for servants like John and Sandy Halversen, people who are willing to lay their lives down as intercessors and warriors. You have many who unselfishly do so, some walking their neighborhoods, others driving across the country, still others faithful in their prayer closets and on the jobs they work. Thank You for this army You’re raising up. We pray for John and Sandy as they finish the walk tomorrow. But, as I know they would desire, our greatest prayer is an agreement with them that You will send revival to America and the world. Open past wells of revival, break curses off our land and off other nations. We know that in America 12 cities set records for homicides this year. We appeal to You for the greatest revival EVER, and one that touches the ends of the earth. And as we shall continue to do, we ask for Your hovering presence over the Supreme Court and every Justice, to bring forth Your counsel and will in the recent abortion case. Help us reverse Roe, we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Our decree: We decree that the prayer army around the world is strong and growing, and that life will win over death. ************************************ You can find out more about John and Sandy Halvorsen and their walks across America here or at www.prayerwalkamerica.com. 16. 7 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-8-2021 December 8, 2021 A Warning Dream Regarding the Abortion Case My good friend, Matt Lockett, leader of the Justice House of Prayer in DC, released a powerful dream and appeal to continue in prayer for the recent Dobbs abortion case heard by the Supreme Court. I have had to shorten it a little, but you can see the entire article plus a video of Matt and Lou Engle discussing it by using these links. Matt shares: A Child Is Born “On Thursday, December 2, one day after the oral arguments in the Dobbs abortion case at the Supreme Court, a team member of the Justice House of Prayer in DC had the following dream: “‘In the dream, I had a one-day-old baby, and it seemed as if it was my daughter, Megan. A witch was trying to poison her. The witch was far away, standing in a wooded area, pouring poison into a stream. I knew this was an attempt to poison my baby. Then, as my baby was drinking from a bowl of water, I felt sudden alarm as I realized the witch had attempted to poison that, also. The witch made several other efforts to poison water, in order to poison my baby. I did not know whether she had been successful. “‘Then the witch stole my baby. “‘In distress, I began desperately searching for her. The place I was searching was like a medical clinic, with many small rooms. The hallways were a maze, small and oddly shaped, some of which I had to squeeze through. It was very difficult to get from one room to another in order to search for her. “‘The scene changed and I was climbing a mountain on a gravel road. Several others whom I didn’t know accompanied me. I thought we were climbing to the top, but after a short climb, barely above the base of the mountain, I saw a shack to my right. It was the only structure in a vast, wooded, mountainous area. The shack was a carpenter’s shop. “‘I knew I needed to purchase a white board at the carpenter shop. When I entered, I saw a long, painted white board leaning on the counter, ready for me. And to my great surprise, my baby was also there on the counter! Alive! I was deeply relieved to have found her. “‘The carpenter was standing a few feet behind the counter but said nothing. I stared at him, trying to discern his intent regarding the baby, to figure out which side he was on. Had he rescued my baby? Or, was he part of the scheme to steal the baby? Should I trust him to help me, or grab the baby and run down the mountain? “‘And I woke from the dream.’” Matt continues, “We feel strongly that this dream about the one-day-old baby is pertaining to the one-day-old court case - about rescuing the babies and the overturning of Roe v. Wade [remember, the dream was given one day after the hearing]. Interestingly, the baby’s name, Megan, is derived from the Greek word megas, meaning mega ‘great.’ This case is of mega importance! “The oral arguments were held on 12/1. Revelation 12:1 and the subsequent verses say, ‘A megas or mega sign appeared in heaven: a woman… She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: a megas, mega red dragon… The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.’ “In verse 5 of Revelation 12, there was war in the heavens. We are in a spiritual war right now against witchcraft and forces of darkness seeking to ‘poison’ the minds of judges determining this case. We know the Lord’s desire is to grant us victory, but the battle isn’t over. “[Last Friday (12/3)] the Justices cast their preliminary votes on the case and now the opinions will be written. It is very important that we not let victory be stolen [we believe that quite likely we have won this case] or the language of the opinions be poisoned in any way. We want to enforce the verdict of Heaven, which is that Roe v. Wade is overturned. “In 1992, Roe could have been struck down in the courts, but Justice Kennedy was swayed to change his vote at the last moment. This reveals that we must war over the 9 Justices and against the witchcraft at work to influence them. Also, we must continue to ask the Lord to unite the 5 conservative justices together in a coalition of conscience for the ending of Roe. Pray for Justices Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett to hold fast to their God-inspired convictions. “We also received a dream recently concerning Chief Justice John Roberts. In the dream, Roberts was seen weeping at the foot of his blank tombstone. Next to him was another tombstone upon which was engraved the purposes God had intended for him to fulfill in his position of influence. Written there, among other purposes, was the overturning of Roe v. Wade. However, Roberts had failed to agree with God’s plans for his life. Let’s pray for him, in light of this dream, that he would not miss his greatest moment to partner with God in the ending of abortion. “Meanwhile, if the warfare depicted in the ‘Megan dream’ is true, and we believe it is, then it reveals a current and crucial element of witchcraft we must contend against. There is clearly more than just a political or legal battle regarding abortion. We are dealing with a mega spiritual battle concerning the very altar of death in our nation. This is why, as intercessors, we believe we are being called into a divine assignment. To miss this moment could be to miss everything. “During the oral arguments on Wednesday, there was much discussion surrounding so-called medical facts regarding the viability of a fetus. In the dream, however, the baby could not be found or rescued in the ‘medical maze.’ We must look elsewhere. The dream shows there is a mountain that must be climbed to find and rescue the baby. We believe it is the mountain of the Lord. “When the mother begins to climb the mountain, she encounters a carpenter’s shack. We believe the carpenter on the mountain symbolizes Jesus. When the mother goes inside, Jesus has the baby, yet she doesn’t know this and is wondering whose side He’s on. This part of the dream reminds us of Joshua when he encountered the angel of the Lord outside of Jericho. “Joshua was about to face giants. It’s our conviction that this court case is facing the greatest demonic giant in our nation. When Jesus, the Captain of the Hosts of Heaven, appeared to him, Joshua questioned which side the Warrior was on. The Lord answered, basically, ‘Wrong question. Whose side are YOU on?’ America must side with Jesus, careful to align with His desire to end Roe v. Wade. “We believe that ‘ascending’ the mountain of the Lord is ascending in our spiritual authority. “Therefore, we invite you into 21 days of prayer and communion from now until Christmas [December 5-25]. We understand that our greatest weapon against the forces of witchcraft is the blood of Jesus. “In addition to this call to prayer and communion, there is an aspect of the dream we believe is a call to prayer in the night watches. The white board that needed to be purchased at the carpenter shop may seem like a random detail, but our team immediately associated it with a dream I had in 2004. “In that dream, I saw Lou Engle praying with a room full of young people in an all-night prayer meeting. There was a large blackboard full of abortion statistics. He watched as each person who prayed would then strike a chalk eraser against the board. Every strike released a cloud of white chalk dust, which gradually covered the blackboard. By morning, the blackboard was entirely white and the abortion statistics were no longer visible. Perhaps the way to ‘purchase the white board’ at this time is to engage in nighttime prayer, countering the prayers of witches and warlocks whose activity is heightened during those hours. “In addition to Jesus, the carpenter may also represent Joseph, who was warned by a dream in the night. His swift obedience to escape with Mary and the baby in the cover of darkness, is what saved the child from Herod’s sword. “Therefore, we also invite those who feel led, to join us over the next 21 days, from December 5-25, in forming an ongoing chain of prayer between the hours of 10PM and 6AM. You can sign up here to let us know when you are taking your place on the wall of intercession in your time zone. “Let’s preside together over these judges in prayer, restrain the powers of darkness, and partner with the Captain of the Hosts in tearing down the altar of abortion.” Pray with me: Father, we are well aware of the spiritual battle for the babies. Throughout history, demons have required blood sacrifices from their worshipers. We also know this empowers them, opening doors for curses and death. We here in America are no doubt experiencing many of these curses, having literally covenanted with death. As we partner with You in rescuing the babies, we bind the witchcraft and demonic attempts to influence the Justices in this case (see Matthew 16:18-19). We refuse to allow them or the babies to be poisoned. The babies will not be stolen. We do this in the name of Jesus. We ask You to raise up and motivate many to join this prayer assignment. May we not falter during this time of opportunity and crisis. Please awaken many in the church to pray, even during the night watches. Awaken pastors, motivating them to call their churches to pray. Please do something to break any complacency off of pastors, leaders, and churches. May they realize that there simply cannot be business as usual in this season. Amen. Our decree: We decree, in the name of Christ, that the babies will be saved. *************************************** Today’s post was taken from The Briefing (link here) and written by Matt Lockett, director of JHOP (the Justice House of Prayer) in Washington, D.C. 17. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-3-2021 December 3, 2021 The Supreme Court Must Get it Right Today "America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts -- a child -- as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign."(1) (Mother Teresa) As we pray today regarding the Supreme Court Justices’ votes which will occur today, let’s ponder what some great leaders have said about abortion. The above poignant quote from the late Mother Teresa, one of the great humanitarians of our time, rightly says that Roe Vs. Wade “deformed” America. In 1983, the great Ronald Reagan in his profound article, “Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation,” stated: “Our nationwide policy of abortion-on-demand through all nine months of pregnancy was neither voted for by our people nor enacted by our legislators - not a single state had such unrestricted abortion before the Supreme Court decreed it to be national policy in 1973... “Make no mistake, abortion-on-demand is not a right granted by the Constitution. No serious scholar, including one disposed to agree with the Court’s result, has argued that the framers of the Constitution intended to create such a right... Nowhere do the plain words of the Constitution even hint at a ‘right’ so sweeping as to permit abortion up to the time the child is ready to be born. Yet that is what the Court ruled.”(2) Reagan’s entire article is worth reading; you can find it easily online. Such an easy, simple decision - no vote of the people, no legislative law, no Constitutional intent - with such profound results. One would think more Presidents, at least so-called pro-life conservatives, would have been more vocal regarding the decision. Only President Trump, the most pro-life President in history, has attended the annual pro-life rally in D.C. “Donald Trump became the first US president to attend America's largest annual anti-abortion rally. “He addressed thousands of protesters at the March for Life near the U.S. Capitol while his impeachment trial was ongoing. “President Trump said: ‘We're here for a very simple reason: to defend the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential.’ “The annual demonstration first began in 1974 - a year after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in Roe v Wade. “Until now no president had ever attended the march, which takes place just steps from the White House, though previous Republican presidents, including George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, have addressed the group remotely.”(3) Liberty University hosted Dr. Alveda King at Convocation Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, to discuss several topics. Her personal experiences make her comments even more meaningful. “The niece of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Alveda King, discussed her journey from having multiple abortions and voting as a Democrat for decades, to eventually being coined as ‘the Conservative King,’ and a pro-life figure. After her conversion to Christianity in 1983, she now firmly stands for the protection of people throughout their entire lives, starting at conception and ending at death, which is something she calls ‘womb to tomb.’ “‘What’s interesting is that my mom wanted to abort me in 1950 because she was a college student,’ Alveda King said. ‘Abortion was illegal, but this exploratory procedure is what she wanted.’ “According to Alveda King, her mother was persuaded by her grandfather to keep her baby after he described a dream he had several years prior, which described what the baby would look like. Alveda King claims this interaction to be a ‘prophetic ultrasound,’ though she did not link it to her pro-life stance until many years later. “‘I didn’t know then that I was born into the pro-life movement,’ Alveda King said. ‘God called me away from my liberal living. I had two abortions, a miscarriage, divorce, I was just living in the world. In 1983, God said that he wanted me to give my testimony. So I became a voice for life in 1983 when I was born-again, but I had been rescued in the womb, and I didn’t know it.’” (4) And finally, the late, and very esteemed Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia stated, after Planned Parenthood vs Casey in 1992: “The States may, if they wish, permit abortion on demand, but the Constitution does not require them to do so. The permissibility of abortion, and the limitations upon it, are to be resolved like most important questions in our democracy: by citizens trying to persuade one another and then voting… “Roe fanned into life an issue that has inflamed our national politics in general, and has obscured with its smoke the selection of Justices to this Court in particular, ever since. And by keeping us in the abortion umpiring business, it is the perpetuation of that disruption, rather than any pax Roeana, that the Court’s new majority decrees.”(5) Pax Roeana is a twist of the phrase “Pax Romana,” which means “Roman Peace” and refers to a roughly 200-year period of peace during Roman rule. His play on words is meant to emphasize the incredible turmoil the Court’s rulings on abortion have created. Later, in a 2010 speech at the University of Richmond, Justice Scalia stated his scorn for the inappropriate abuses of the Court: “But some of the liberties the Supreme Court has found to be protected by that word - liberty - nobody thought constituted a liberty when the 14th Amendment was adopted. Abortion? It was criminal in all states.”(6) Indeed..! Finally, God had something to say about life in the womb: “You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb. I thank You, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything You do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly You know me, Lord! You even formed every bone in my body when You created (raqam - ‘to variegate colors; embroider; needlework; fabricate; to be skillfully wrought’) me in the secret place; carefully, skillfully You shaped me from nothing to something. You saw who You created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days You planned for me were already recorded in Your book. Every single moment You are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that You cherish me constantly in Your every thought! O God, Your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, You’re still with me.” (Psalm 139:13-17; TPT) Let’s pray that the Court gets it right today..! Pray with me: Father, You formed us in our mother’s womb, weaving us into the person You wanted and needed. You chose our purpose, and while we were being formed wove into us the gifts and abilities we would need to accomplish that purpose (Galatians 1:15). You filled John with Your Spirit while he was still in the womb (Luke 1:15). He leaped for joy in his mother’s womb when Mary, pregnant with Christ, entered the room (Luke 1:41). Fetuses that are not yet human beings are not filled with Your Spirit and don’t leap for joy. John was obviously already a person. Paul’s destiny and identity were shaped while still in his mother’s womb (Galatians 1:15). Forgive America, Father, for killing our children. Today, we join with the blood of 60 million babies, crying out to You for justice. Please end America’s covenant with death (Isaiah 28:15-18). Help us this day, Father, end the shedding of innocent blood in our land. Move on enough Supreme Court Justices to give life a victory today. [5 of the 9, a simple majority, must vote for life.] Peel back any veil blinding them to truth. Enable them to see through the maze of twisted and tangled legal arguments, the layers of what-ifs and wherefores. Show the insidiousness and lunacy of finding the right to kill babies in the word “privacy.” How simple this decision should be! The framers of the Constitution would be shocked and horrified at what we have done with their words. Awaken the conscience of our nation, and start with 5 Justices. In Jesus' Name we pray..! Our decree: We decree that life and decency will prevail in the United States of America. ***************************************** Click on the link below to watch the full video. _________________________________ Mother Teresa, "Notable and Quotable," Wall Street Journal, 2/25/94, p. 18. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-2-2021 December 2, 2021 It Still Works..! A demonic tide of destruction has been unleashed upon our nation and has taken ground at an increasingly rapid rate. Politically, economically, and humanistically there is an agenda to make America never again look the way God intended her to look. Yet, He has not given up on us. Yahweh still has a great plan and purpose for this nation and is calling on us to partner with Him in this critical hour. The book of Ezra shares of a time in Israel’s history which is a good picture of where we in America are today; it also speaks of God’s restoration. The Israelites began rebuilding the Temple after their sin had caused it to be destroyed. While they were hard at work, other people in the land - enemies of God - threatened and discouraged the people of Judah, causing them to be filled with a paralyzing fear. “Counselors” were also hired to lobby against the people of God to frustrate their strategy. All of this resulted in a 16-year delay in the rebuilding of the Temple, the place where God’s glory dwelled. In some ways, America currently finds herself in this sort of delay. After making significant advances toward America’s restoration during Trump’s term, many have allowed discouragement and fear to gain a foothold in their hearts. They’ve laid down their tools and folded their hands. Others have allowed themselves to become busy with religious activity, but do not challenge status quo systems aimed at shredding the moral fabric of our nation. As in the days of Ezra, “counselors” (see Ezra 4:5), known today as lobbyists, are diligently and strategically opposing God’s people, while advancing an antichrist agenda in every sector of society. This is a fulfillment of Psalm 2, which describes those who hate God and take counsel together, devising plans to contend against Him and His people. These lobbyists and leaders believe they’ve overthrown God’s rule in America and conquered His people; in their arrogance, they openly decree this. Notwithstanding, Psalm 2 describes several terrifying things God does in response. First, He laughs a mocking laugh of derision toward them. Then, He asserts that His Son will indeed rule the earth. Lastly, God warns that if they persist, He will brandish His rod of authority, breaking and shattering His opposition. The good news is clearly laid out there - in the end, God wins! We must not fear that if we resist the liberal government and leftish activists we might be harmed. Neither should we fear that we might go to jail, lose our government funding, tax-exempt status, or have our businesses shut down for speaking truth. Indeed, these things are already happening - some are already paying a high price to stand for righteousness - but we must not cower and live in fear. The only fear we must operate in is the fear of the Lord. Thankfully, the negative story from Ezra is only half the story. After a 16-year delay in rebuilding the Temple, God raised up a company of leaders who worked together to steer His people toward repentance and a resuming of the restoration. First, He raised up two prophets, Haggai and Zechariah, who boldly awakened the people to their true condition, yet also to God’s heart for them. The moment they responded in repentance, God began working on their behalf, frustrating the plans of the lobbyists and giving the people of Judah favor with the government. Everything they needed for the restoration of the Temple was provided! Then Yahweh gave them needed alliances. The most amazing part of the story is how the prophets (Haggai and Zechariah), the priesthood (Joshua), and civil government (Zerubbabel, the governor), worked together to lead the people into reformation. In response to their obedience and righteous partnership the Lord blessed Israel, decreeing that the glory of the latter house would be greater than the former (Haggai 2:9). Zechariah later prophesied to Zerubbabel telling him the mountain in front of him was going to be brought low and made a plain; not by might or power, but by Holy Spirit, Zerubbabel would tear it down with shouts of “grace, grace!” This is a picture of what God wants to do in America. He is forming powerful alliances in His kingdom today. Christian leaders are speaking out, the Ekklesia is praying, righteous leaders are being raised up in government, and the body of Christ is becoming active in many efforts to restore America. The Supreme Court case being voted on tomorrow (Friday, 12/3/2021) is an example: government leaders and righteous pro-life attorneys have worked together to bring the case before the Court. Some of the attorneys are supported by business leaders and other concerned Americans. Christians around the nation, as well as here in DC, are praying. My assignment, of course, is to motivate and coordinate prayer. I want to encourage you that “it still works!” A friend of mine was given a powerful dream several months back, in which George Washington made an appearance. The dream is worth mentioning here: “…Then the crowd became stone-cold silent. Out of the old house came George Washington. You could see the bullet holes in his coat - he was wearing his Revolutionary War uniform. Washington walked up to Dutch, took off his hat and handed the original Appeal To Heaven flag to him. Dutch unfurled the Flag, which was worn, tattered, and riddled with bullet holes. Washington looked at him and said, ‘It still works! You, sir, are making our appeal to heaven certain and America will be saved…’” Pray for America. Pray for the Church to arise. Pray for the babies’ protection. Pray for tomorrow’s vote at the Supreme Court. Pray that revival explodes in America and around the world! Pray that God purges our government of evil, and exalts righteous leaders. If the church continues to awaken from her slumber, heeds the voice of the prophets, and begins to partner with righteous government leaders, the Lord will make a way for our nation’s Biblical foundations to be restored, and for His glory to fill our land again. God’s desire is for us to see revival in our cities, our nation, and other nations of the earth. Don’t yield to discouragement and fear. Holy Spirit is calling forth an army of faithful followers who will not yield to discouragement, but will instead boldly push back the darkness (see Ephesians 6:12). Pray with me (as we pray here in D.C.): Father, the “rebuilding” has begun. America’s prophets are speaking, the royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) is responding, and the Zerubbabel’s are arising. We ask for victory over unrighteous leaders, ungodly lobbyists and others that oppose You and Your plans for America. We boldly ask for such a great restoration that just as in Haggai’s day, a double-portion of Your glory will be seen in our land. We pray again today regarding tomorrow’s vote in the Supreme Court of America. We ask for You to involve Yourself. Anoint and favor pro-life Briefs being considered; oppose the death arguments. Influence the Justices greatly, especially those in the middle. May they feel Heaven’s weighty hand, hear its voice and experience its wisdom. Thy Kingdom, come! Thy will, be done! According to Your word in Matthew 16:18-19, using Your keys, we bind evil spirits' involvement and declare that the gates, government, and plans of hell will not prevail against the Kingdom of God. We do this in Christ’s name. Amen. Our decree: We decree that just as in Haggai’s day, the word of the Lord will be heard, the restoration will be completed, and the glory of Yahweh will cover America and all the earth. It still works! *********************************** Click on the link below to watch the full video.
  19. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/november-29-2021 November 29, 2021 Just How Important is Wednesday’s Supreme Court Hearing? Wednesday, December 1, 2021, is a day of monumental significance. I have shared with you over the last few weeks about Mississippi’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. This is the case that could reverse Roe v. Wade, Doe v. Bolton, and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. If this occurs, it will not end all abortion in America, but rather end the law that says it is legal in the entire nation. Thus, each individual state will have the right to decide what they allow. I am going to Washington, D.C., this week to worship and pray outside the Supreme Court. During a prayer over this trip by several leaders, my friend, Greg Hood, released a prophetic declaration over me, which I’ll share with you in a moment. The prayers of the saints are prevailing against the darkness in America. The Lord has heard our cries. When I go to Washington, D.C., I will be carrying in my heart every prayer I know has been prayed over decades toward the ending of this national abomination—abortion. Many of you have prayed as much or more than I have to end this evil in America. I am simply a representative of those prayers, being sent by God to present them before Him. I pray the bowls are tipped, the hearts of the justices are moved, and we see abortion begin to end in America. Here is the prophetic decree Greg spoke over me while in Mississippi: “Lord, You have backed this nation up against the Red Sea. Pharaoh has been breathing down our neck for decades now. But, God, You are bringing a parting of the Red Sea. And You’re tearing down some altars that have been built up. Father, as Dutch goes into D.C., there’s going to be a new altar built and a fire rekindled in this nation. This altar will be built on the other side of victory. You’re swallowing up Pharaoh's army. You’re swallowing up the army of death. You’re swallowing up the army that’s been sent to enslave a generation. We decree over Dutch, He is carrying Mississippi with him. He’s carrying a rod of authority. He’s carrying the Word and Scriptures that have been inscribed on that staff of authority concerning relationship with You. He’s carrying the keys of Isaiah 22:22. We say he will lock and unlock the hearts of the justices. We believe it’s shifted, Lord, because the prayers of the saints have breathed on the bones over this nation. You are pouring out justice for the unborn and for this nation. You are going to release Heaven’s justice through these Supreme Court Justices.” Let me share some current information on the Dobbs case from those involved. Then, I will share some of the ways we are being asked to pray leading up to and on December 1st. The Heritage Foundation has written a paper explaining the significant pro-life arguments of this case. You will need to go here and read the entire explanation and see their sources and footnotes. It’s excellently written. Here is a summary: “Two features of the law are central to this litigation. First, it is a ban, rather than a regulation, on the performance of abortions. Second, this ban operates well before viability, which the Supreme Court established in Roe, and reaffirmed in Casey, as the ‘critical fact.’ The Act asserts that the state has an interest in protecting maternal health because the maternal risks from abortion increase proportionately relative to gestational age. In addition, the abortion method used after 15 weeks, known as dilation and evacuation, is ‘a barbaric procedure, dangerous for the maternal patient, and demeaning to the medical profession.’ Echoing emphasis by 19th-century physicians on current medical knowledge, the Act highlights facts about fetal development that were unavailable to the Supreme Court in Roe or even in Casey. Modern medicine reveals, for example, that a 15-week-old unborn child has all major organs, moves all fingers separately, exhibits a preference for right or left-handedness, and is responsive to pain.”1 One wonders in light of these statements, how abortion can possibly continue? How could any of the 9 justices consider the description of a 15-week baby in the womb and rule according to “precedence” - decisions they’ve made in the past. Allan Parker is the President of The Justice Foundation. He was lead counsel for Norma McCorvey (formerly “Roe” of Roe v. Wade, from 2000 to 2012) and Sandra Cano (the “Doe” of Doe v. Bolton, until 2014) in their efforts to overturn the two landmark cases that brought legalized abortion on demand to America. Both of these women changed their minds about abortion and wanted their cases reversed by the Court. Neither of them lived long enough to see their desire become reality. Allan has not stopped fighting for justice, however. He helps state senators and representatives write pro-life legislation, and has produced 4 of the 80 briefs filed in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case. The four briefs Allan has filed include one representing 539,108 Americans asking the Court to end abortion in America, including 2,249 women directly hurt by abortion. A second brief represents 375 women hurt by second and third trimester abortions, together with some of those working to help women recover physically, spiritually, and emotionally from their abortion procedures. We are going to need much more of this type of work. A third brief is specific to the jewish community and their statement supporting Dobbs, and focusses on the immorality of abortion.2 The fourth brief is the most touching. It is filed on behalf of a woman, Hannah S., and her adoptive parents. Hannah was a frozen embryo, adopted and grown to full fetal maturity within the womb of her adoptive mother. She is an adult woman now, living for Christ. Hannah’s adoption is called a “Snowflake Adoption” and we are going to see more and more of them. Her testimony will show the justices in a very real and powerful way that life begins at conception. Every currently frozen embryo is a baby waiting on its parents, natural or adoptive, to receive them, so they can grow fully into the person God created them to be.3 There are 76 other similar briefs filed on behalf of the Mississippi law, and they are likewise impactful. Eighteen states filed a brief in favor of the Mississippi law, as well. These states have Heartbeat Bills, similar legislation and laws waiting to be enacted when the Supreme Court rules to overturn Roe v. Wade in full or in part.4 We are going to see a floodgate of Life actions wash across America when it happens! Here are a few ways we can pray: “Mississippi has a right to protect life—all life—including the life of the unborn. MS has the obligation to protect these innocent lives, and they have the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That’s being taken away from them currently without due process and it needs to stop.” ~MS Governor Phil Bryant 5 “Evil always attacks the most innocent. The Egyptians looked at Israel and became concerned that they were multiplying and prospering. Their response was to kill all the young up to the age of 2. They killed the most vulnerable. We must pray for all the states desiring, like MS, to have the opportunity to protect our most innocent—our babies in the womb.” ~MS Governor Phil Bryant 6 “This case confronts viability. Ask the Lord to have the justices look at viability from the point of Hannah S., formerly a frozen embryo. She was a life in suspended animation. She was a life from conception that had not yet been able to fully develop.” ~Allan Parker 7 Pray with me: Father, we bring before You the multitudes of prayers that have risen before Your throne, asking You to end abortion in America. You have created each and every unborn life. You love them and desire to protect them, so they can fulfill all You created them to be and do. You have raised up warriors to fight on our knees for these precious lives. You have raised up governmental warriors in Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and many other states, to write legislation and enact laws to protect life. Now, Lord, breathe on Mississippi’s law. Highlight the 80 compelling briefs. Move on the hearts of our nine Supreme Court Justices. Weigh heavily on their consciences, Holy Spirit. Give them dreams in the night. Show them the reality of life in the womb. Protect the babies! Roll this curse off America, Lord. Swallow up Pharaoh's armies—those pursuing our unborn. End the barbarism and the bloodshed. Cause our nation to honor life as You do. Amen. Today’s decree: God will hover over the Supreme Court on December 1, 2021, giving favor to the unborn in America. _________________________________ Click the link to watch the full video: 1 https://www.heritage.org/the-constitution/report/dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health-organization-opportunity-correct-grave-error 2 https://thejusticefoundation.org/dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health-organization/ 3 Ibid. 4 https://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health-organization/ 5 Excerpted from Intercessors for America’s Dave Kubal’s interview with MS Governor Phil Bryant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXxXzxzpe40 6 Ibid. 7 https://thejusticefoundation.org/dobbs-v-jackson-womens-health-organization/
  20. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/december-1-2021 December 1, 2021 The Most Important Supreme Court Case in Decades Flying the American flag upside down - when done for the right reasons - is an officially recognized signal of danger and distress; it is not a sign of disrespect. America is now in one of the most alarming seasons of her history, with decisions being made that have and could continue to undo two and a half centuries of blessing. Our moral decline, antichrist laws, humanistic culture and godless leaders have brought us to the point where we need to be resurrected, not just resuscitated. Much of the destruction began in the 1960s and originated in the American judiciary branch, including the Supreme Court. Interestingly, this was “prophesied” by Thomas Jefferson, whose greatest fear regarding America’s future was the authority taken by the courts, which he declared that the Constitution—which he helped draft!—had not given them. In 1821 he declared, “The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the federal judiciary. An irresponsible body, working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief over the field of jurisdiction until all shall be usurped from the states.”(1) Incredibly strong language. One is reminded of Paul’s words in Galatians 5:9: “a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.” The founders of our government never intended for the Supreme Court to be the supreme branch of our government. Nowhere does our Constitution give them authority over the Executive and Legislative branches. In fact, they did not even have their own building until 1935; they met in the Capitol. Nine unelected men and women ruling our nation in the way the Supreme Court now does has resulted in “a despotic branch”(2) in whose hands the Constitution has become a “thing of wax,”(3) as warned by Jefferson 200 years ago. One of their own, the late Justice Antonin Scalia, called his colleagues “black-robed masters,” going on to say that “the Court has essentially liberated itself from the text of the Constitution…and from the traditions of the American people.” Scalia went on to state clearly that the Constitution “is not a living organism” as the liberals like to state when twisting its meaning into what they want it to say.(4) One of today’s liberal Federal Judges, Richard Posner, no longer sees the need to twist the Constitution’s meaning in order to make his warped rulings. He simply admits that to him, and many other judges and attorneys today, the Constitution is irrelevant. “I see absolutely no value to a judge of spending decades, years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, or seconds studying the Constitution, the history of its enactment, its amendments, and its implementation…the original Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the post-Civil War amendments (including the 14th), do not speak to today.” (After much criticism, Posner later backed off from this ridiculous comment.)(5) If you’re wondering where in the Constitution judges found the removing of prayer from schools, abortion rights, the redefining of marriage and other liberal positions, the answer is simple: they didn’t. They simply legislated from the bench, according to their own desires and ideals. Today, the Supreme Court is hearing a case that could overturn Roe versus Wade, the evil ruling that has resulted in more than 60 million babies being killed in their mother’s womb. It is America’s greatest failure and shame. As Jefferson warned, the “noiseless step” has advanced until we now kill babies that survive abortions, after which we sell their body parts. The left rabidly defends all of this. If the Court rules once again for death, let it not be because we did not do our part to pray. Cry out on behalf of the babies! Ask Holy Spirit to put heavenly pressure on the Justices to vote for life. Re-read yesterday‘s post and, using its suggestions, pray for the attorneys and Justices. Listen to Holy Spirit and pray as He leads you. I leave you with a quote from the Supreme Court affirming that America is a Christian nation. Pray that this mindset one day returns to the Court. “In 1892, in the case of Church of the Holy Trinity v. The United States, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that: ‘Our laws and institutions must necessarily be based upon the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent, our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian...This is historically true. From the discovery of this continent to the present hour, there is a single voice making this affirmation...that this is a Christian nation. We are founded to legislate, propagate, and secure Christianity.’ (6) “Again in 1947, the Court said ‘we are a religious people and our laws presuppose’ the existence of God. The Court upheld our national motto as constitutional in 1979 (In God We Trust), as well as having paid chaplains in the Legislative branch of government in 1983.”(7) Don’t give up on America! Pray with me: Father, we ask You to move on the hearts of five or more Justices as they think and deliberate, bending their will toward You and the babies. Shift thinking where it is necessary, silence voices that need to be silenced, give favor to those that need favor. Speak to them in any way necessary to turn their hearts and minds to the appropriate ruling. Obviously, they hold a live hearing, but much of their information will be taken from the written Briefs. Speak through these writings. We ask You to anoint the words of the pro-life Briefs with fire from Holy Spirit. We ask that the pro-death attorneys’ words be as the prophets of Baal, that their words will have no power. We pray for the verbal arguments of the pro-life attorneys in this case. We ask You to give them brilliance, wisdom, and excellent choices of wording. We ask that confusion, errors, and disjointed language come to the pro-abortion attorneys. We ask for a very literal anointing of the Holy Spirit to be present in the courtroom when this case is heard, that Your presence be in the room, Holy Spirit. Please give us a reversal of the insidious ruling, Roe vs Wade, and break its hold off of this nation. Our decree: We decree that the covenant of death is broken off of America! ******************************** “For you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death and a pact with the underworld, so when the overwhelming scourge sweeps over us, it will not harm us. For we have made lies our refuge and find our shelter in falsehood.’ Here’s what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I set in place in Zion a Foundation Stone, fully tested and proven to be faithful and secure. And written upon this precious cornerstone is this: “Those who trust in Him will not act in haste.” I will set justice as the true measurement and integrity, its plumb line. My hailstorm will sweep away your refuge of lies, and My floodwaters will overwhelm your hiding place. Then your covenant with death will be annulled and your pact with the underworld will not stand. And when the overwhelming scourge sweeps over you, it will sweep you away!’” (Isaiah 28-15-18, TPT) Click on the link below to watch the full video. _________________________________ http://www.knowsouthernhistory.net/Quotes/thomas_jefferson.html http://www.robgagnon.net/JeffersonOnJudicialTyranny.htm Ibid. https://www.wilsoncenter.org/article/constitutional-interpretation https://www.abajournal.com/news/article/posner_apologizes_says_his_controversial_comments_were_about_a_living_const The Rebirth of America, Arthur S. 21. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/november-30-2021 November 30, 2021 A Critical Day in America I will arrive in D.C. today. I have several meetings at undisclosed locations this afternoon and evening. Many others will also arrive today, some to appeal to heaven for the protection of the unborn, others to demand the right to kill them. Ultimately, 9 Supreme Court Justices will decide. Actually, it only takes a simple majority - 5. Five people will decide whether life or death wins. If it is a 5-4 vote, really only one swing vote will have decided the case. Amazing how thin a margin it takes to save or destroy millions of innocent lives. In 1973, seven liberal Justices found the right to abort babies in the word “privacy:” Blackmun, Burger, Douglas, Brennan, Stewart, Marshall, Powell. In Planned Parenthood vs Casey (1992), five Justices kept the abortion law intact: O'Connor, Kennedy, Souter, Blackmun, and Stevens. One vote for the right to “privacy” cost 40 million more babies their lives, more than Hitler’s Holocaust. Planned Parenthood, who won the case, now sells the babies’ body parts. In total, since 1973, over 60 million babies have been killed in the womb. Unimaginable. Could there be anything more asinine and stupefying than saying privacy gives one a right to kill babies? Did these Justices actually believe those who penned our Constitution intended this? Of course not - they were ideologues, legislating from the bench. I list their names because they do NOT have the right to privacy regarding their votes. They are responsible for the most heinous U.S. law in our almost 250-year history. Can they be forgiven? Of course. As the slave trader, John Newton, stated, God’s grace is amazing. If they have repented and asked for cleansing, the blood of Christ has washed them clean. If not, the blood of millions remains on their hands. Those who have had or participated in abortions can also experience COMPLETE forgiveness and cleansing. If you have confessed this sin and asked for cleansing through the blood of Jesus, it is no longer on your record. You have not simply been pardoned, the slate has been wiped clean; the sin no longer exists. I recorded a podcast a while back to help those struggling to forgive themselves over having had abortions. It has helped many. You can watch the YouTube podcast from February 26, 2021, entitled Broken No More here. Tomorrow (12/1/2021), 9 women and men will hear the current abortion case: Roberts, Thomas, Breyer, Alito, Sotomayor, Kagan, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett. They will then deliberate until Friday morning, at which time they will vote. This is why many who come to pray will stay through Friday morning. It may surprise you that we will not hear the results for several months, likely not until mid or late summer. I urge you to pray with us today, tomorrow, and Friday. Millions of prayers should be offered up. Ask God to forgive and cleanse America from the shedding of innocent blood (Numbers 35:33). Ask Him to give the attorneys arguing for life supernatural wisdom and language. Ask Him to confuse the thoughts of those arguing for death, to make their logic seem foolish, their arguments illogical and disconnected. Ask Holy Spirit to hover over the courtroom, controlling the atmosphere. Bind evil spirits from the room (Matthew 16:19). Pray for the Justices. Ask Holy Spirit to speak to them - clearly. Ask for angelic messages, dreams, even visions. Ask for them to be delivered from misguided and deceived beliefs. Ask Holy Spirit to give them courage to ignore precedence, stare decisis, as it is called. There is tremendous pressure not to overturn a previous ruling of the Court, and they rarely do so. Pray that this does not play a role in their thinking. Breyer, Sotomayor, and Kagan are staunchly pro-abortion. It is highly unlikely they will turn. Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch are strong in their support of life. That makes Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barrett the unknowns. If there are no surprises among the first six, these 3 will decide the case. Of them: Roberts has drifted to the left the last several years. However, there have been strong words and dreams encouraging prayer to shift him back. Kavanaugh usually votes on the conservative side of issues and was considered pro-life by many when appointed. But nothing is guaranteed when it comes to votes on the Court. Barrett, too, has a conservative pre-Court record and is believed to be strong in her pro-life views. But, again, her record is just forming on the High Court and she has disappointed conservatives in one or two of her votes thus far. Nothing is guaranteed. Pray especially for these three. We will need at least 2 of them to vote for life. Ask Holy Spirit to strongly anoint the words of Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch when they speak in the hearing and in deliberations. Ask for their words to carry weight, authority, and anointing. Pray that these 3 “swing” Justices hear Holy Spirit, that their minds become one with His during this hearing and deliberation. Ask for Isaiah 50:4-5 to occur: “The Lord God has given me the tongue of disciples, so that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to listen as a disciple. The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not disobedient, nor did I turn back” (NASV). Ask for their ears to be opened and, if necessary, for their hearts to turn. Pray with me: (I am going to write and lead in a prayer, but only to allow for the great power of agreement to occur. It is important that you continue to pray these things on your own, and even more as Holy Spirit leads you.) Father, we pray that You will bring a heavy presence of Holy Spirit into the Supreme Court tomorrow. Release weighty glory from Your throne room into their courtroom. Combine this glory with Your authority. We, the Ekklesia have asked, bound, and loosed. (Matthew 16:18-19) We have released Your kingdom authority over this case. And now we ask for the fulfillment of the remainder of the passage: what we have bound on earth will be bound in heaven, and what we have loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven. We ask for great wisdom and powerful words to be spoken by those fighting for life. We ask for confusion to plague the pro-death attorneys. And we ask for Holy Spirit‘s strong, hovering presence to invade the thinking of all the Justices, but especially that of Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barrett. Scream in their ears, whisper in their hearts, think through their minds, speak in their dreams. Let there be no doubt in their consciences, hearts, and minds that they must vote for life. Our decree: We decree that the power of death is broken over America, and that life will once again be honored. ************************************* Click on the link below to watch the full video.
  22. 7 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/november-25-2021 November 25, 2021 Thanksgiving Day Proclamations For today’s post, I have included the Thanksgiving proclamations of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I will only read a few sentences from each. Though the verbiage is somewhat different than ours today and a little cumbersome to read, consider doing so anyway. In order to have a more easily read proclamation, one understood by all ages, I have written a proclamation, as well. You might consider reading it to the family today as you gather, perhaps even around the dinner table: ****************************************** Gracious Father, we in this blessed nation give You thanks today. America was Your idea. You had in Your heart to form a nation of nations - numerous Native American nations, Asians, Europeans, Africans, Latinos and more. Though the journey and process has at times been painful, even evil, due to our selfishness and rebellion, Your sovereign power overrode our flaws and formed the United States of America. And we thank You. We are well aware that forming America was not just for our benefit but, like Abraham of old, was a covenantal partnership for the purpose of redeeming the world from sin and it’s curse. We are honored beyond words to be part of this plan and agree with the words of Robert Hunt at Cape Henry in 1607: the gospel of the kingdom will go forth from these shores, not only to this land, but to all the nations of the earth. We thank You for preserving us in times of war, disease, sin, and chaos. In the war of our birth, we were saved through an appeal to Heaven; in the horrible Civil War, You preserved us through incredible bitterness and the loss of over half a million soldiers - sons, husbands, fathers, brothers; in two world wars, You preserved us from evil, demonized despots intent on ruling the world. Through all the trials and all the years, You have been faithful. We thank You for the incredible prosperity we have enjoyed due to our partnership with You. Though some try to convince our people You had nothing to do with this, that America does not need Your gracious hand of blessing, we know this is untrue. Unless You build the house, the laborers work in vain; unless You protect the city, the watchman wakes in vain. You have blessed this nation - of You, through You, and to You are all things. Thank You, gracious and beneficent God! And we thank You today for our Savior, the Messiah, Christ Jesus. Son of God/Son of Man, thank You for Your sacrifice in becoming a member of the human race. Thank You for discovering what hunger feels like, for experiencing the pain of a loved one’s death, of rejection and betrayal. Thank You for walking dusty roads to heal diseased bodies, taking detours to redeem thirsty hearts, spending sleepless nights praying over Your assignment. Thank you for exposing the futility of religion, the evil of pride and the power of love. Thank You for revealing the Father to us again, and making a way for us to find and reconnect with Him as our Abba. Thank You for paying such a high price for this: the beatings and lashing, Gethsemane, the mocking, the crown of thorns, the wrath of Hell, the hideous cross. Thank You. And gracious Father, wonderful Savior, and blessed Holy Spirit, though we as a nation have dishonored You, rejected You and mocked You, Your love endures. Though we have worshiped idols, embraced false religions, shed innocent blood, defiled Your marriage covenant and expelled You from our schools, causing our children to reject You, Your mercies endure. Though our government, in pride, deception, and rebellion, has risen up against You, rewritten Your laws, legislated murder and immorality, and has determined that You are no longer welcome in their functions and procedures - You have demonstrated amazing patience. And though the church should be Your instrument of preservation from these ills, she has grown lukewarm, complacent, and ineffective. Yet, in spite of these and many more evils, You have said You are coming to save us again. You have promised to renew our purpose and destiny, healing our brokenness and returning our hearts to You and one another. Our prodigals are coming home, a lost generation is being found by You, the fire of passion is returning to the church, millions will be saved, and America will be reformed. We will once again become a powerful voice of the gospel of the kingdom throughout the earth, partnering with You through the power of Holy Spirit. For this we give You thanks, Yahweh. President George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation: “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public Thanksgiving and Prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. “Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be - That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks--for His kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of His Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed - for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted - for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which He hath been pleased to confer upon us. “And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions - to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually - to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed - to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord - To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us - and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. “Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.” (George Washington)(1) President Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation: “The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defense, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. The population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege, and the battlefield; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and union. “In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed. “Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the Eighty-eighth. By the President: Abraham Lincoln.”(2) ________________***************************_______________ Click the link to watch the full video: https://www.mountvernon.org/education/primary-sources-2/article/thanksgiving-proclamation-of-1789/ http://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org/lincoln/speeches/thanks.htm
  23. 5 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/november-23-2021 November 23, 2021 The Value of the Secret Place “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). The secret place is a dwelling place. Go there daily and you can “abide” in Yahweh’s protective shadow. The secret to a victorious life is an abiding life. Don’t settle for religion - enjoy spending time with Abba. My niece, Rachel Shafer, shares a powerful word and fitting pre-Thanksgiving testimony regarding the importance and benefit of living in the secret place. ******************************* Rachel says: “Recently, Holy Spirit whispered to me, ‘Don’t forsake the value of the secret place.’ I was instantly gripped in my heart and began pondering the statement. “One of the meanings of value is ‘the regard, importance, worth, or usefulness of something.’ It also means ‘to consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; to have a high opinion of.’ (1) “The word forsake means ‘to abandon, renounce or give up.’ (2) “Holy Spirit was urging me to remember the importance and benefits of the secret place, to value its worth in my life. What an awesome reminder for us as we continue navigating these challenging times. “In the New Testament, Jesus instructs us to go to a quiet place, a secret place, a room with the door shut when we pray (Matthew 6:6). He set an example for this by often going away from His followers to spend time alone with God. In Matthew 14, Jesus received the terrible news that King Herod had ordered the beheading of John the Baptist. Upon hearing this, verse 13 in The Message version says ‘He slipped away by boat to an out-of-the-way place by Himself.’ “Faced with tragic, heartbreaking news, Jesus knew He needed to get away to be alone with His Father. If we want to be infused with strength, grace, peace, hope - we need a secret place.” I (Dutch) cannot begin to recount the many “secret place” encounters I’ve had with my Father, with Christ and with Holy Spirit. The infusion of strength and confidence that comes from it is indescribable. Philippians 4:13 (AMP) says: “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]” Rachel continues, “The secret place causes us to become more aware of God’s presence. And in His presence we stop focusing on our problems, and begin seeing His answers; we gain His perspective. We see as He sees and can begin to say what He says. In other words, the secret place enables us to approach our situation with wisdom from above. “Several years ago, I walked through one of the darkest moments of my life. Our youngest son, Jaidin, was having a surgery related to his cleft palate. The days after the surgery were a whirlwind of one thing after another going wrong. Jaidin couldn’t breathe on his own and had to be intubated. He could no longer walk, or even sit up on his own. He couldn’t swallow and was being fed through a feeding tube. “No one knew why. Doctors could not figure out why this was happening. It was heartbreaking. Jaidin was sad, mad and frustrated. And we were too. Finally, on the 11th day I woke up with words ringing in my heart, ‘Jesus’ blood never fails me.’ Later that day we received MRI results. The first words out of the neurologist’s mouth were, ‘This is not the news I had hoped to share with you today.’ The MRI showed that Jaidin had a lesion on his brain where the nerves were located that control swallowing and affect strength and balance. This gave us answers, but definitely not the answers we were expecting or wanted! “The doctors continued talking, telling us Jaidin might never regain his swallow or the complete function of his left side. They showed us pictures and explained different scenarios. At one point, I was feeling completely overwhelmed - it was information overload. I put my hand up and said, ‘I need you all to stop.’ “I ran out of the room down the hallway sobbing. I had to gather my thoughts and emotions. I knew that I needed secret place time with Jesus. I needed a higher perspective. I sat on a small couch in Jaidin’s hospital room, crying and praying. “It was in those moments I remembered I had awakened that morning with the words, ‘Jesus’ blood never fails me.’ His blood always speaks a better word (see Hebrews 12:24). Was I to think differently now that we had the MRI results? “No! The hope I have in Jesus is an anchor to my soul. I allowed Jesus to minister to my heart and Holy Spirit was able to encourage and comfort me - from the secret place. I had taken a few moments to get into His presence right there in that little hospital room. Jesus’ blood didn’t fail me and Jaidin recovered FULLY! “I value the secret place experience I had during that time. My prayer for each of you is that you will build a history of secret place experiences, encounters that will teach, change, shape, and empower you with God-breathed words you can speak into situations and times of testing. Also, that you would value the secret place reward of His presence.” Pray with me: Father, we honor You today, setting our hearts, souls and gaze upon You. We value our time with You, Lord. We know You desire to speak to us every day—guiding us in spirit and in truth. As we listen to You and obey Your Word, we can enjoy an abundant life. You invited us to come boldly to Your throne of grace to find help any time we have a need. We cherish those times with You. It is then that we recognize You as Abba, Papa. We know that our Abba is also the all-powerful, living God. We decree Your power into our situations and circumstances. Break into lives. Transform and restore broken hearts, souls and minds. Heal bodies, homes, and nations. We put our circumstances and times into Your hands, knowing that You hold the power to turn them all for our good. We will pursue you, Abba. We’re after Your heart. May Your will be done in our lives, our regions and all across this land. America shall be saved; revival is coming to the earth! Amen. Our Decree: We will not forsake the value of the secret place. We are a people pursuing the presence of the King. ********************************************* Today’s post was contributed by Rachel Shafer. 24. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/october-20-2021 October 20, 2021 We Have a Part To Play The first chapter of Joshua marked a new season in Israel. A divine shift was about to occur; God was changing the time and season (Daniel 2:20-21), just as He is in America. And the chapter holds several insights for us. A short review of some things we’ve said recently would be beneficial. Scripture speaks of general time/s and seasons (chronos). Spiritually speaking (and often naturally, as well), these are the routine, mundane times of plowing ground, sowing and tending seeds, waiting, etc. They would include extended seasons of prayer, standing in faith and persevering. The season could be days, weeks, months, or years, depending on the subject. When faithfully managed and navigated, chronos seasons will eventually result in strategic, opportune times (kairos) of reaping. At this point, we have an opportunity to reap the fruit of our labors. God has changed the time and season. An example of this would be when He told Joshua that in 3 days, after 40 years of waiting, they were crossing into Canaan to possess the land. The fruit isn’t guaranteed at this stage, but the opportunity to reap has arrived. If we persevere in faith and implement the necessary principles, we will arrive at the fullness of time (pleroo). This speaks of a finished process. The money is in the bank, the harvest is in the barn. For Joshua and Israel, the land had been possessed. For our generation, it will mean we’re in full scale revival. We have a part to play in each phase if we are to get to the next. As we said, in the first chapter of Joshua, God changed the season to a kairos. Israel now had the opportunity to possess. In preparation, God gave Joshua several key principles to guide him through this kairos season. In yesterday’s post we talked about Him showing Joshua this would require faith. Another principle God made clear early on was that Israel would have to fight - their inheritance would not just fall in their lap. This would not be like leaving Eqypt. God will always faithfully do what only He can do; however, there will always be actions He requires of us. As we said on a recent post, don’t make the mistake of overemphasizing the sovereignty of God. It is deception to believe God will make certain that we reap, regardless of our involvement. The generation of Israelites who perished in the wilderness is proof that receiving the fulfillment of what God offers is not guaranteed. Joshua 1:2 states: “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.” Moses had gone away by himself, and God took him to heaven without anyone being there to witness it. Yahweh was indeed informing Joshua of this but was also announcing to him, “It’s your time now, Joshua. You can no longer look to the man who mentored you and led the nation. You have been trained and equipped; now you’re the one. Accept the responsibility! Rise up into your place of leadership and lead these people into their inheritance.” Not only was Joshua facing new responsibilities, however, but all of Israel was also. The word “giving” in the above verse is translated from the Hebrew word nathan, which means more than giving in the sense of bestowing something upon another. Nathan also means to give in the sense of an assignment. This is the word used in Psalm115:16: “The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men.” In this Psalm, God wasn’t saying He gave ownership of the earth to Adam and Eve, He did not. He was saying He had blessed them with the bounty of earth, but also that He had assigned to them responsibility and authority to manage it. God’s gifts are often His assignments. He was gifting the land to Israel, yes, but He was also assigning them the responsibility of possessing and managing it. Another picture of this can be found in the word “possess.” God told Joshua in verse 11 He was giving them the land to “possess.” This Hebrew word means “legally an heir” but also “military invasion for the purpose of conquering and settling in the land.” “This is your inheritance,” He was saying. “Now go take it.” Still another word in this chapter confirmed this. The word “tread” in verse three - “every place on which the sole of your foot treads I will give to you” - is a warfare word. It means “to march forth; to tread a winepress.” It also means to “bend a bow,” from the concept of treading on it to bend it. From this concept it came to mean “archers” or as one lexicon said, “bow-benders.” It is still the word today in Israel for loading a gun. When the commander is ready to lead his troops into battle he says, “Darak.” God was telling Joshua, “If you are willing to take your weapons and fight, I will give you victory.” These lessons are all true for us today. God has given us this nation to reap and enjoy its amazing bounty. But with that comes an assignment to manage, govern, and protect it. We are responsible to guard it against those who would try and overrule God’s purposes. We must not allow this rebelion to succeed. America is our inheritance - we must yaresh it. We must be willing to use the spiritual weapons of our warfare and take back what God has entrusted to us. The church must not yield to those who would try and abort God’s purposes. He has brought us to an incredible opportunity to repossess this land. God has changed the times and seasons and has brought us to the brink of incredible revival and breakthrough. We must now seize this. This will require darak. Load your weapons, spiritual bow-benders. Fight the good fight of faith. Take the sword of the spirit and the weapon of prayer. God has promised us victory, IF we are willing to fight. Of course, we are talking about spiritual warfare, not hurting people. We love people, but we do not love the spiritual powers of darkness that have invaded this nation, nor do we love what many people are trying to do. There is no contradiction between loving them and not accepting their actions. We are not to be spiritual pacifists. This is a deception satan uses frequently, convincing Christians that “loving” their enemies, or those who oppose the plans of God, is to sit back and allow them to do whatever they want, that God will deal with their plans and actions when He chooses. This is NOT biblical. We are to hate evil (Proverbs 8:13, Psalm 97:10; Romans 12:9; Revelation 2:6); at times we are to announce judgment (Acts 8:20, 13:11; 1 Corinthians 5:5; 2 Timothy 4:14). And we are most certainly to resist the spiritual powers motivating and empowering evil doers. If these things were a contradiction of love, God would be violating His own nature - love - at times! Church, this can be our finest hour. This is our generation’s time to cross over into Canaan and drive out giants. Let’s do this. Pray with me: Father, You are giving us an opportunity to repossess our inheritance. You have changed the time and season, telling us, “It’s time!” We will now do as Joshua and Israel did: go into the land and remove spiritual giants. As your Ekklesia, we will bind and loose, pull down strongholds and free people from the clutches of the enemy. We, Your people in America, will be what You called us to be: a light to the nations, a voice of the gospel of the kingdom to all nations. Teach us what it means to love Your way, loving unbelievers while not accepting their actions. Give us Your hatred of evil AND Your love for the sinner. Your love is unconditional, yet Your judgments are true and righteous altogether (Psalm 19:9). Awaken the church. Give us a backbone of steel and hearts of love. Put Your warrior heart in us, causing us to fight for justice and truth. Give us Caleb hearts that look at a stronghold and say, “Give me my mountain!” Break off of us complacency, apathy, lukewarmness, selfishness, and fear. Free us from distractions and activities that cause us to miss opportunities and/or feel we are too busy to get involved. We ask You in Jesus’ name to do these things. Our decree: Let God arise and his enemies be scattered! ___________________________________________________ Portions of today’s post were taken from my book God’s Timing for Your Life. 25. 6 min read https://www.givehim15.com/post/october-19-2021 October 19, 2021 Our Faith Will Prevail Hebrews 6:12 tells us it is through faith and patience that we inherit the promises. Maintaining faith for this nation has not always been easy. I’ve watched it drift farther and farther from God. There have been times of great sadness and mourning as I’ve watched God rejected, morality decline, babies killed, our roots deteriorate, and the overall church of America weaken. Obviously, it has looked, at times, like satan and those aligned with him are winning the war. Their arrogance and mockery sometimes makes it more challenging. On my journey the last 20 years, I have traveled millions of miles to thousands of meetings in hundreds of cities - all to pray and encourage others to do the same. I have fought discouragement and the frustration of wondering why more believers - especially leaders - don’t take seriously the need to pray for America. I have listened to naysayers’ unbelief, eschatological explanations as to why I am wasting my time, and ill-informed rebukes about being an American nationalist and/or controlled by a political spirit (even though my passion for America is centered around our calling to serve and evangelize other nations, and I’m not registered with either party.) Emotions are sometimes challenging to deal with. I have experienced anger over Never-Trumper’s who prefer killing babies over mean tweets, and pompous pastors who preach that God forgives sinners and doesn’t remember their sins, while continuously bringing up President Trump‘s past. I watched with shock while spiritual leaders refuse to pray and take a stand against cheating, then congratulated a staunch pro-abortionist (and who has since become the most pro-abortion president in history). I was disgusted as some of them castigated well-meaning prophetic believers whom they felt “missed it.” (A few did, most didn’t. Their decrees were declarations of faith or words stating God’s desire, not His guarantee.) God never said faith journeys would be easy. In spite of the ups and downs, by God’s grace and help I can say I have never doubted His word to me that a Third Great Awakening is coming to America; nor that this awakening will turn our nation back to Hiim and our righteous roots. We will be restored to our God-given destiny. America shall be saved! When needing to make a stand of faith, we must reach a point where what God says is the only determining factor for what we believe. That alone is biblical faith. Faith cannot be based on what we see around us, what others say, or how long it has been since the promise was given. When God was about to bring Israel into their fullness of time, giving them the promised land of Canaan, he made it clear to Joshua that faith would be required to possess the land. In Joshua 1:2 God said to Joshua, “Cross this Jordan,” (italics mine). He was pointing out that it was not the Jordan of several months earlier, nor the Jordan of a few months from then. It was this one - which was in flood stage! (see Joshua 3:15) At this time, the Jordan River was probably a mile wide, very deep, and, as far as these Israelites were concerned, impassible. Yet, God told Joshua that the nation - men, women, children, animals, possessions - would have to cross this Jordan in 3 days. One would imagine Joshua was tempted to think: we’ve waited 40 years! A few more months won’t hurt. Gimme a break! If he did, he didn’t say it. On the contrary, he started packing! What incredible faith it took to receive this word from the Lord! We, too, will face impossible situations and insurmountable odds at times when we are in the process of turning a nation. It will require much faith. We are there now in America. We will have to believe God is going to do His part - the impossible - to get us to where we need to be. As much faith is needed in the possessing stage as in the long waiting period. Chronos seasons of waiting obviously require faith and patience. But when God says it’s time to reap, faith will also be required then. We must be willing to respond and move in faith, regardless of the odds or adversity. I love the following story: “As the drought continued for what seemed an eternity, a small community of Midwest farmers was in a quandary as to what to do. The rain was important not only in order to keep the crops healthy, but to sustain the townspeople’s very way of living. As the problem became more urgent, the local church felt it was time to get involved and planned a prayer meeting in order to ask for rain. “The pastor watched as his congregation filed in. He slowly circulated from group to group as he made his way to the front in order to officially begin the meeting. Everyone he encountered was visiting across the aisles, enjoying the chance to socialize with their close friends. As the pastor finally secured his place in front of his flock, his thoughts were on the importance of quieting the crowd and starting the meeting. “Just as he began asking for quiet, he noticed an 11-year-old girl sitting on the front row. She was angelically beaming with excitement; and lying next to her was her bright red umbrella, poised for use. The beauty and innocence of this sight touched the pastor’s heart. He realized this young girl possessed faith that the other people in the room seemed to have forgotten. The rest of the people had just come to pray for rain...she had come to see God answer.”(1) If we are going to see America turn, we better bring our umbrellas! God did something else to let Joshua know this reaping season was going to require faith. He made sure they crossed the Jordan near Jericho (Joshua 3:16), perhaps the most fortified and impregnable city in Canaan. As Joshua was staring at this stronghold, God made one of His periodic, outlandish statements, “See, I have handed Jericho over to you, with its king and the valiant warriors,” (Joshua 6:2). My very human response would probably have been something like, “See what? All I see is one of the most fortified cities in all of Canaan. And, by the way, couldn’t we start with one of the smaller, vulnerable towns? Until we get a little experience and momentum. I mean, we were nomads a couple of days ago, our army hasn’t fought a battle…” God, however, was making a point through the flooded Jordan and impregnable Jericho: “The success of this endeavor doesn’t depend on the size or experience of your army. It doesn’t hinge on when or where you cross the Jordan. And the size or strength of the adversary means nothing. Success will be decided ONLY and TOTALLY by My ability and your willingness to obey and partner with Me. Got it, Josh?” Got it, praying church in America? Let’s pray. Pray with me: Father, Your cause is great and noble. You are determined to offer this entire planet the privilege of knowing You, entering Your family. You love the entire world with immeasurable love. Christ is the proof. A showdown is coming. Demonic rulers over Jericho’s are fearful, sensing that You are coming. They are correct. A shift is in process. The times and seasons are changing. We are going to cross the Jordan. Yes, it is flooded, impassable. No matter! We’re going across. We’re taking Jericho. Jubilee trumpets, marching feet and a shout of triumph will bring Your victory. We pray for the faith of our brothers and sisters, Father, as Christ did for Peter. He prayed that Peter’s faith wouldn’t fail, and it didn’t. It looked like it had, but, no, You sustained him. And we believe You will do so with today’s warriors, also. Sustain them, we pray! May they look at America and other Jericho nations of the earth with eyes of faith and hear You say, “See, I have given you the city.” Our decree: We decree that we will do what is necessary and stand by faith! _________________________________________________________________ Portions of today’s post were taken from my book God’s Timing for Your Life.
