  1. Woman awakened in middle of night by two men allegedly trying break into her home. She grabs a gun — and they pay the ultimate price. Detectives said a woman was asleep in her Tucson, Arizona, home when she was awakened around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday by a noise at the back of her residence, the Arizona Republic reported. The homeowner investigated and found two men trying to force their way into her home, the paper said. Boom "She confronted them, she armed herself with a firearm, and shots were fired, and that info was relayed to us by 911," Tucson police spokesman Officer Frank Magos told the Republic. Police told the paper that two adult men were found with gunshot wounds behind the home. Corey Teixeira, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Associated Press reported, and Ali Mohamed, 18, was taken to a hospital where he later died. Detectives are executing a search warrant on the home, the Republic said. Police told the AP that the attempted break-in doesn't appear to be random, and the investigation continues to determine if the shootings were in self-defense. http://www.hideoutnow.com/2019/10/woman-awakened-in-middle-of-night-by.html
  2. Pregnant woman shoots and kills intruder with AR-15 during home invasion in Florida A home invasion in Florida turned deadly for one of the intruders when a pregnant homeowner reportedly fatally shot him with an AR-15. An official with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said at a press conference that two men forced entry into a home in Lithia last Wednesday night and “made demands” of the man and woman who lived there. They then started beating the male homeowner, Maj. Frank Losat said. "During that incident, the female homeowner retrieved a firearm, which was in the house legally, and fired one round which struck the male victim that was deceased in the ditch," Losat said. https://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/ny-ar-15-home-invasion-pregnant-20191104-r4qyamuxzrft3eogn3b5qksyre-story.html
  3. Constitutional Carry Works in Arizona: Armed 19-Year-Old Shoots, Kills, Carjacker On 17 July, at bout 1:30 a.m. in South Phoenix, Arizona, there was an attempted carjacking. The suspects may have thought the selected victim would be an easy target, because he was a teenager. It did not turn out that way. In Arizona, there is respect for the Second Amendment. Eighteen, Nineteen, and Twenty-year-old citizens are not prohibited from carrying guns or from carrying them in vehicles. The perpetrators in this attempted crime made a poor choice in the victim selection process. For the knife-man, it was a life ending one. From 12news.com:
  4. Another Good Guy With a Gun: Summerfield homeowner injured, kills 2 intruders with AR-15 Two men were arrested following the shoot-out in southern Marion County. SUMMERFIELD — Marion County sheriff’s officials say a homeowner armed with an AR-15 shot and killed two intruders and was injured himself during a home invasion robbery in Summerfield Wednesday night. Two other robbery suspects — Robert John Hamilton, 19, of Ocala, and Seth Adam Rodriguez, 22, of Belleview — were detained near the scene, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Nigel Doyle, 22, of Summerfield, and Keith Jackson Jr., 21, Ocala, were killed. The homeowner, whose name was not released by the Sheriff’s Office, was in stable condition at a hospital Thursday afternoon. https://www.ocala.com/news/20190711/summerfield-homeowner-injured-kills-2-intruders-with-ar-15
  5. “I feel like if I hadn’t had the gun in there, this whole news story would be about me and my mother being dead…” A Georgia man used a firearm to fend off and subdue two gunmen after they invaded his home and proceeded to beat him and his mother. Last Wednesday afternoon around 5pm, Decatur resident Timo Hernandez, 28, and his visiting mother were sitting down for a chili dinner when they heard a knock on the door. “When I opened the door, these two guys stormed in with guns and started pistol-whipping me and took me to the ground,” Hernandez recounted to WTVM. The homeowner said one of the intruders next targeted his mother. “He started pistol whipping and kicking her in the side,” Hernandez described. Fortunately, one intruder made the mistake of leading Hernandez to the extra bedroom where he kept his father’s old hunting rifle. That’s when the resident was able to turn the tables on his attacker. “He put a gun to my head, and I just started fighting back.” Hernandez grabbed the stashed gun and began firing at the two assailants, putting bullets in both and sending them fleeing out the door. One intruder died in a neighbor’s yard, according to WTVM. The other attacker ended up crashing in the parking lot of a nearby Zaxby’s restaurant. “He remained in critical condition until passing Thursday from his wounds,” WTVM reports. Upon finding badges and zip ties at the scene, police concluded the two appeared to be impersonating police officers. Hernandez said he was grateful he had a gun in the house for protection. “I feel like if I hadn’t had the gun in there, this whole news story would be about me and my mother being dead in this house,” he said. Hernandez also apologized to the family of the men who died as a result of the bungled home invasion. “I never want to hurt anybody like that, but they put me in a situation, and I only reacted to it,” he said. “It sucks that a man lost his life yesterday, but I had to protect my family.” While Hernandez was able to protect his home, his mother subsequently suffered a heart attack after police arrived and remains hospitalized with no insurance. Hernandez has started a soliciting-of-any-kind-is-not-allowed account asking for donations to help pay for his mother’s medical bills. http://patriotrising.com/2016/01/20/homeowner-shoots-kills-home-invaders-after-they-beat-him-pistol-whip-his-mom/
  6. An elderly Vietnam veteran was a recent victim of an attempted robbery in his own driveway. According to KRISTV 6, the 69-year-old arrived home with his wife and pulled into the driveway. His wife got out and headed indoors and he was sure to follow until a man stopped him and held him at gunpoint. Once he realized he was being held at gunpoint, the veteran drew his own concealed carry handgun and shot the robbery suspect twice — once in the stomach and once in the back. The concealed carrier then held the attempted robbery suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. “My dad can’t really hear, pretty hard of hearing, so apparently the guy asked him to give him his wallet. And it took him a few times of repeating, and my mom finally heard. And by then my dad realized that he was being held at gunpoint,” Medina said. This is a case of “do or die”. A criminal so brazen he’s willing to target an older couple and attempt to rob them in broad daylight shows a general disregard for anyone’s well-being and a complete lack of any fear of consequences. According to the concealed carrier’s daughter, the couple was targeted specifically because they were elderly and walked around with assistance. Easy prey, right? Wrong. “Because my parents are elderly, because they walk around with a cane, and walker that they are assumed to be easy targets,” she said. “My dad is neither weak and he doesn’t let his disability slow him down in any way when it comes to life and death situations.” The 23-year-old suspect is currently in the hospital in stable condition. Once he recovers from his injuries, he’ll be tried for aggravated assault. This is why daily concealed carry matters so much. This situation could have gone wrong in so many ways but thankfully the concealed carrier was able to get the upper hand and save himself and his wife from this armed criminal. When criminals target their prey based upon how easy they think it will be to knock them off, it’s time to realize that concealed carry is the common denominator that allows law abiding citizens their afforded right to defend their lives, their family, and their property. Good work, sir. And it always stands as a gentle reminder to the rest of us — carry everyday. http://patriotrising.com/2016/01/20/ccw-in-action-concealed-carrier-vietnam-vet-beats-armed-robber-on-the-draw/
