  2. The Iraqi Council of Ministers decides to send 200 billion dinars to finance salaries in the region 2022-03-15 09:04 Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided, in its session held today, Tuesday, to send an advance of 200 billion dinars to finance the salaries of employees and workers in the public sector in the Kurdistan Region. An informed government source told Shafaq News Agency, that the Federal Ministry of Finance will, in the coming days, deposit the amount in the account of the Central Bank of Iraq in Erbil, with the aim of distributing it. In turn, the representative of the Regional Government in Baghdad, according to the "Kurdistan 24" station, which is close to the Kurdistan government, confirmed the issuance of a decision from Baghdad to send the aforementioned amount. The spokesman for the regional government, Jutiar Adel, had confirmed in a press conference held earlier in March that the federal government would not send any amount of money from the monthly advances to fund the salaries of employees since the beginning of 2022. The distribution of salaries in the region witnessed a noticeable stumble during the past three months due to the failure to send a monthly advance of 200 billion. And Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi had decided last June to disburse 200 billion dinars as an advance allocated to pay the monthly salaries of the region's employees. Government officials in Kurdistan confirm that without this monthly funding that Baghdad sends to the region, it is difficult to pay the salaries of hundreds of thousands of employees and retirees in full and without deduction. The regional government provides the rest of the amounts for the disbursement of salaries from the internal financial revenues in Kurdistan.
