Large preparations for the celebration of Baghdad Day next Saturday 21/11/2017 12:00 am Baghdad / Haidar al-Athari The Baghdad Municipality has completed its preparations for the celebration on (the day of Baghdad) on the 25th of this month, which will provide a snapshot of the history of the capital, by recalling the writers, thinkers and celebrities who raised the name of Iraq high in international forums, in addition to the definition of the old Baghdadi professions And the food that prevailed then. UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova plans to visit Baghdad early next month. The secretary of the Higher Committee for (Baghdad Day) Adel Adelawi said in an exclusive interview for "morning": The Secretariat decided to change the site of the celebration from the Zora Park to the building of Qishla on the 25th of this month, which will last four days, noting that the committee headed by Amina Baghdad, Which included a number of preparatory meetings for the success of its activities. He revealed that the program of the celebration will include a theater performance entitled "Baghdadi" to recall the features of the lives of prominent figures in the fields of culture, politics and literature, most notably Dr. (Naziha Dulaimi), the first minister of the Republic of Iraq in the era of Abdul Karim Qasim, and (Mullah Aboud Karkhi). Al-Urdawi said that the program will include the history of the satirical journalist Nuri Thabet, the owner of the newspaper, and the poets Jamil Sedqi al-Zahawi, Maarouf al-Rusafi, the pioneer of free poetry, Nazik al-Malikah, in addition to Aziz al-Ali and the singer of Maqam al-Qabbanji. Among the other activities are the establishment of special pavilions in Baghdad's traditional and popular markets, which represent the identity of workers in the fields of blacksmithing, carpentry, barbershops, saffarin and folk food vendors, as well as coordination of the General Traffic Directorate with the Municipality of Baghdad to organize a march with old cars and carriages to pass through the streets of Rashid, Martyrs Bridge. The secretary of the Supreme Committee said that the celebration will also see the launch of fireworks from the banks of the Tigris River, pointing out that the literary and cultural councils of Baghdad and public forums will devote their sessions to talk about the day of Baghdad and its importance and will be invited to a number of senior officials and faces Baghdad to attend the events of the celebration, Capital. He added that among the festive program that will be held on the gardens of Al-Zawra Park is a children's festival entitled "Let's draw for Baghdad" to draw a large painting about the love of Baghdad, in addition to sports competitions and bazaars, which show folk handicrafts of traditional color and wings of Baghdadi food and food. In a press statement to the Baghdad Municipality, Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi agreed on the initiative put forward by the committee's president, Naseer Shamma, to develop the squares of Baghdad, in addition to providing financial cover for the development of the banks of the Tigris River in Abu Nawas Street, Baghdad Forest and the UNESCO Theater in Baghdad. Will be announced soon, in the presence of UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova. He added that other projects will also be opened, including the Peace Fountain, lakes in the shape of the map of Iraq, the design of a museum of the epic of Kilgames, as well as playgrounds, gardens and kiosks typical for the employment of youth, and the preservation of green areas to serve the environment, in addition to other projects under study.
