  2. 08-24-2020 10:21 AM Riyadh is waiting for Al-Kazemi's visit Baghdad / Al-Akhbariya Diplomatic and protocol preparations are taking place in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. For the official visit that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is expected to make to the Kingdom soon. This comes at a time when a tripartite summit is expected to be held this week in Amman, with the participation of Al-Kazemi, King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The Iraqi ambassador to Riyadh, Qahtan Al-Janabi, revealed, "We are expecting to set a date for the visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the near future, to be a new start for relations between the two countries." He pointed out that "the Iraqi embassy in Riyadh is communicating with the Saudi Foreign Ministry to determine the deadline for this visit," indicating the two parties ’keenness to make the visit a success and move forward in developing relations. The ambassador added, "There is a trend between the governments of Iraq and the Kingdom for the relationship to be strategic, strong and solid." Al-Janabi emphasized that “Saudi Arabia has a desire to invest in Iraq, especially in the field of energy, as they are among the largest oil exporters in (OPEC) and possess the largest oil reserves in the world. They agreed in recent meetings to study some important projects, including the investment of Saudi Aramco for a gas project. (Artawi) north of Basra, and investment in (Mansouriya al-Jabal) gas in Diyala governorate, and gas (crutch) in Anbar to generate electric power, and it is hoped that the (Aquar Power) company specialized in the fields of renewable energy, solar energy production and water desalination will enter into investment in Iraq. . The ambassador expressed, “There is a desire from Iraq to open more than one border crossing with the Saudi side, similar to other countries, to facilitate the movement of citizens and goods between the two sides, because the land border between Iraq and Saudi Arabia is more than 800 kilometers and it is the second longest border with a country after Iran, and there are about 4 provinces bordering it, "noting that" Saudi Arabia does not mind the matter and will study this after the opening of the Arar port.
