The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization considered that the imposition of sanctions on its president, Ali Akbar Salehi, was a "worthless political game" and evidence of the "despair" of the United States.
A spokesman for the Iranian organization, Herhroz Kamalundi, said: " Iran will continue its nuclear program strongly, despite US sanctions. Washington withdrew from the nuclear agreement and violated its obligations and is not in a position to express its opinion on Iran 's commitment to its obligations.
He added: "Imposing sanctions on the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization is a childish measure that has no value and no consideration."
The US Treasury Department announced earlier today, Thursday, the imposition of sanctions against the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization and its chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, that included freezing the assets of the organization, and prohibiting all dealings with it for American bodies and citizens of the United States.
